Bero's support | Morroblivion

After I have found Dram Bero, in order to get his support I need to defeat Garding the Bold in the arena. When I talk to Garding the Bold there is no topic I can choose to challange him in the arena. Therefore I can not complete the quest. Killing Garding the Bold where he stands wouldn't help because Dram Bero will not give his support if I kill Garding outside the arena.

I have no issues with this quest. I don't know what you have done, or what mods you have installed, what quest stages have been triggered, or anything that might help me troubleshoot this. Please tell me EXACTLY what Guarding says when you speak to him.

The quest stages with index 10 and 50 has been triggered. When I talk to Garding he prompst me with "You want a duel? You got a duel!"

But there are no topics where I can challange him.(see attached file)

That is the greeting you are supposed to get. The topic that moves things along is "Duel." I would have thought you would have encountered that topic by now anyway, but I will add it in a few extra places. For now, use the console command ~AddTopic 1duel.

I have tried your suggestion, and it did provide the duel option.

However, when I accepted the duel, i found him outside of the Arena, and because of this, when he attacks me, he is in turn attacked by the guards and killed. Also, when i did manage to fight him without guard intervention, i found no way to end the combat, ending in him dying. (I tried to yeild but he always rejected.) I can use the console to finish the quest i supose, but i wanted you to be aware of the bug.

I received the topic 'Duel' without a problem, but after he teleported to the arena, his AI made him head back to Bero's manor. When I finally caught up to him back at the manor, he attacked me, I killed him, and I failed to get Bero's support for killing Garding outside of the arena.

In case it affects his AI, note that I'm Neravarine, so I've already dealt with Bero once before.

To fix it, I had to use MoveToQT in the console as soon as I challenged Garding to the duel so that I could get to the Arena before he left. Still, he did not yield, and I stabbed him to death.

All this was using v028, by the way.
