Rings and other bling bling

I did regular rings (common, expensive and os on)

special, artifacts and faction's are in the way. Some description for modeler are in text files. We had possibility to craft rings in Skyrim. In this case we could have it too. But we materials such as silver or gold (which we don't have in vanilla), so maybe it would be cool to add some of them.

I am aware that extravagant totally don't look like in vanilla, but they were very... ordinary, so I did them as extravagant and odd as I think they should be. It is a lot to choose, so I don't see point to complain.

I don't like these rings but

I don't like these rings but it's only my opinion:

  • Common Rings 7,8,9,10,11,22,24
  • Expensive Rings 9,14,15,16
  • Extravagant Rings 1,2,3,8,10,11,12,13,14,15

It's looks strange for me. Others are very nice.

Lukkar, I want whatever you

Lukkar, I want whatever you are smoking :P

But seriously... I know Morrowind is an outlandish place, but I'm afraid the bonsai, flower, mushroom and aquarium rings have to go. For exquisite rings, we could really use some made from Ebony, black, with an oily shine to them, and slightly transluminent with a purple hint.

Drago I'm smoking usually

Drago I'm smoking usually this ;)

For as we have moon & star which looks like a flower. I don't see a problem to use dried plants to do sth similar. I mean in common rings.

As for extravagant I agree this set is inconsistent. All bonsai, mushroom, squid should be transformed to that one material like guar ring. For aquarium it could like 11 with ebony base. 4,5,6 should have smaller magic torus and more metal. Now it is hard to say which ring belong to particular set.

Why u want to get rid off imperial parasol ring. Obviously, I'm not impartial in this case, but this one is so cool.

Btw. Now I see expensive  16 sucks

Thanks for constructive critique.

small offtop

Now I see I should redesign necklaces a bit in the same way like rings and slime molds because I see now, that direction was maybe good but they are useless and most of them don't fit to enviro

I'd be okay with rings to mimic flower/mushroom shape, not be made directly from it :P Just look at the scale. Flowers are way too big to fit on a finger. Not to mention live fish and a water tank.

I love most of these designs, though the one thing that I have an issue with are the tree-rings. They kinda look like miniscule bonsai plant pots strapped to a band and seem very unwieldy and impractical for a ring design.

25 is the best one. And some of them are too extravagant.

you can try to draw more simple 'tribal, stone-age' rings and trinkets. That can be better.

I changed  real floral to origami (yes they had paper). And I changed all extravagant. 16 expensive was wiped out and racer cliff like is moved to unique. For very beginning it is enough, next set I will send when I will get some free time.

--------------------

Of course if u don't want fish tank one I understand. This is not sth what I want to die for. Btw. sth like exists n that scale

If it is rejected, I don't mind

Uh. It's just... There's a reason why people, especially in the old times didn't make jewellry out of paper. It needs to be durable :P You will get your hands wet, you will put them into pockets/satchels, and you don't want to have to take off your ring every time you do to not break the origami. I'd be okay with clam shells (mother of pearl) broken down into small pieces and glued together with resin to make floral shapes. Just not too big.

Heres an idea, how bout' the origami rings are covered in resin and then dried, thus making the paper hard.

Veloth, I would agree with

Veloth, I would agree with you on the more...intricate designs such as the tiny tree rings but keep in mind that there is a cultural difference between the Ashlander Dunmer who are very simple, practical folk and the House Dunmer who are quite status-obsessed and prone to displays of power. Their society is mostly them conquering and dominating their given environment, their enemies etc. Some of the ring designs would fit in well with the Dunmer who want to show off their power over society (especially the Telvanni). Plus, I think the contrast between the ashy, unforgiving Vvardenfell and the extravagance of some of its citizens is pretty cool; like they are defying the very land through their fashion choices.

In Morrowind we have resin so maybe you can add ambers? So - diamond, emerald, ruby, pearl, amber. May also ring covered with patina?   Some my ideas:

I don't think ashlanders need any rings, they have plenty of other trinkets and not really any materials to make proper rings from.

Nice concepts bartuq

Nice concepts bartuq

I will steal some your ideas to improve my concept if u don't mind

from left to right

I like 2, 3, 4, (as expensive)

5, 6  (those could be common)

7, 12 (expensive)

It would be cool if 2, 3, 7 get some diff rent shape of resin inside. That each one is unique, now they are too similar.

This colorful stone inside I see as colored resin (sth diffrent than diamond, emerald, ruby, pearl, amber) maybe with some bug inside.

-------------

Drago I was thinking of ahshoppers, mudcrabs, animals bones but not too processed. Maybe some colorfull stones

= that's nice ideas both : ashlanders really not it big need of such items, but simple trinkets made from raw natural resources would look good for some town ppl. Also organic themed ring could be good for telvanni servants.

Close.. it was somewhere on boredpanda

---------------------------------

So I have at last free time, so I've done special rings. I calm down extravagant a bit too.

I resurrected glowing mushroom ring (I think it fits to Telvanni well). Descriptions are in files.
