MOTF v.1 Mainquest - Open for Discussion!

Submitted by DavidWolf on

We need a Mainquest for Morrowind, so any ideas? Personally I have an IDEA of what might be a cool and nice Mainquest, that involves the old MQ of MW. But I'm not here to talk about my ideas, this Topic is for you. I want to hear any sugestions for the Mainquest, any ideas you have for it. Anyways MOTF v.1 is going to be released without quests, and later we're going to add the full MQ at once. The topic is open and all yours ;D

Well is just an idea... something diferent from the main quests of MW and OB... Maybe a tension between continents, so the quest line would focus on some undercover work trying to avoid the war... you know, tracking spies... and at the end, a great battle... nothing that involves prophecies, ancient evil bosses or stuff... something more.. "normal"... I'd like to see that. ;)

Well I'm still getting use to the whole Construction Set aspect right now. Once I learn more of it, then I'll start creating a main quest, with voice dialogue intact, which of course will take some time.

I think that first, you guys should write the questlines, then release a version to beta testers without any voice acting, then... do the voice thing...

I think this is simply - awsome :) http://morroblivion.com/forums/morroblivion/general/320 And here is my idea: http://morroblivion.com/forums/morroblivion/general/332 "nothing that involves prophecies, ancient evil bosses or stuff... something more.. "normal"... I'd like to see that." But ancient evil bosses, especially NEW ancient evil bosses are great! After defeating The Gate Keeper (who throw me like a ball) I simply want something BIG to defeat. Maybe something big wait underneath the Red Mountain? Some sort of last surprise from 6th House? And, well, Morrowind is the closest province to Akavir. You read an in-game book about immortal races in Akavir? And the tale about battle with Akavir? Many lore about Akavir is there. Soo... maybe a little chain quest also include Akavir for example?

After I've done some extensive beta testing, then I'll start a tackle on making the main quest for Morrowind. For now, beta testing this part of the expansion is the most crucial.

I think some kind of a LONG and scary horror quest. Something which makes you scream like hell or something. Here:Dragons(All kinds-Cave,red,black,undead,) Corprus cleaning vampirism Disappearing People Slaughtered priests in the temple 3 sides of the main quest:Restoring the anumidium ,Restoring House of dagoth ,Serving the temple OR the imperial legion and imperial cult. Just a few ideas maybe you will found some use of them. Me Too Garu

you know you start on the boat in morrowind, maybe you could do an oblivion quest where you get picked up by imperials and set to morrowing thus the begining of morrowind, we've just reached morrowind, im sure there let us go!

I made a offtop with this text, so I brouth it here: I visited french topics (http://forum.wiwiland.net/index.php?showtopic=39859&st=1148&gopid=612560...), where the converter was create, and there french guys make M3e433 mod, witch allow a player to visite Morrowind in timeline of Oblivion (well, this is an equivalent of Davidwolf project). I asked them is it possible to split together old and new story of Morrowind, and no (in one mod) this isn't possible. For example, if someone decide to not kill de Dagoth Ur, the story in timeline of Oblivion will make no sense and wouldn't even happen. Also, if someone kill an NPC in old storyline who is an important character in new story - failure again. Someone could tell: "Why not? After killing him a propriete message appears, just like in Morrowind" - but this solution will take the whole realism from the game because you wouldn't know witch one I "can" kill - plus, there will be old "non killiable NPCs" and new ones. To many of them I think. So, I agree that the best solution is to make unless three SEPARETE projects - First one, witch gives dialogs and quests from Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon, another for dialogs and quests for Tamriel Rebuilt, and the third one for dialogs and quests for Morrowind in Oblivion's timeline. Yeah, I agree with Dugster - there will be less work with a program who can simply convert dialogs from Morrowind to Morrowblivion, but if we'll wait for one, when we'll get it? Plus, Galadrielle, the maker of converter dissappear, her and her converter's source code (!) witch means that is quite impossible now to make the converter better and to make the dialogs converter with Morroblivion one. So, all we can do is to "repair" the Morroblivion manually and then, make storylines. What do you think about it, guys? I wonder if there wouldn't be no chance at all to split an old and a new storyline of Morrowind, and maybe there is a chance! You guys remember M.O.E.? In that group of mod there is one that allow you to start Oblivion main quest storyline AFTER you get arrested. So my point is, why would't apply this idea in mod that will split old and new storyline in Morrowind? In practice: you dont wan't to kill Dagoth Ur? There will be no Oblivion and a new Morrowind main storylines until you kill that bastard! The gates of Oblivion wouldn't opened in Morrowind, and a whole new storyline wouldn't even started there! I think, that it would be much easier to work on old and new storyline in one mod, in the same time. Simply, during your mod work, that would give you a better possibility to refresh your knowledge about old NPC's. You would also have a chance to quickly compare the old dialogs with the new one, to make the both storylines more... more... (my english sucks..)...compact?? In case of imperial armors... the idea of taking models from SoVvM - maybe a good idea, but I havn't chance to see that models. I really wish to see in Morroblivion an old imperial armors in new look (like an awsome ordinator armor or bonemold or chittin(?) ) or simply replace the Morrowind armors with the Oblivion ones, eventually make few changes, so they would be more similiar to Morrowind ones.

The sixth house is defeated, there needs to be a new evil, a usrurper that has risen in the adsence of the neverine and vivec. The gatekeeper.... yeah, that rocks.

I have a really nice Idea. Dagoth Ur is dead, right. But whats up with Akulakhan ? You know the Big Machine in the Chamber of Dagoth. It could be your Mission to make him functionable, by adding the Heart of Vivec in his Corpse. Then Akulakhan can be finished, and the player could use him as a puppet. You have to become the new Vivec, by doing his pilgrim journey for a new time, but you have to improve his acts. Then you have to get a new Vivec Armour. The last Step is, to learn the ultimate catharsis for flying in the air as Vivec has done. When this has happened, the Ghost wall will be reactivatet, and the Souls of all the death Dunmers, who died under Dagoth Ur, will be in teh Middle of Vvardenfell. What do zou think about this Story line?

Hmm... Nice:) But you have to find a way to kill Vivek legaly or...(!) make this part of main quest for evil characters! AND here you have another Morrowind armor for Oblivion ^_^ http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=5704

what about WEREWOLVES I know in Blood Moon, they had them but then it kind of ended there. I would like to see werewolves on the main land of Morrowind that would include Tribunal, and Oblivion. Because the first time i saw those guys, it scared the heck out of me. i think it would be good if some how they started to escape from Solstheim maybe some spell that releases a curse. So that peoples blood line who once had the curse would all of a sudden in the first full moon from witch the spell was broken or cast would become THE BEAST. This would in turn cause an out brake of Werewolves but of course the people who are affected would have little or no recollection of this when the moon had passed. This should all start from a cave or secret shrine , Vally or some Cool undiscovered sacred place where you are told to go to to recover an .... amulet , sword or special item, for a special prize. but when you touch the item ( witch would be hard to find) a bright flash and maybe some wolves howling causes the curse to be reborn. As do the X amount of wolf statues around the shrine. causing X amount of wolves to chase you out of the place. if you make it out alive , bring the item back to the person, who then thanks you, and talks about the curse after his story he then adds, "but you don't believe in that stuff do you?" Then of course the story line begins. I have not thought of how to stop the curse but something along the lines of an opposing item when put together create an effect to stop the curse for good and having the families thank you. maybe one family having a really super shield of soul gem with some sort of big wolf soul in it. of course you would have to do them one or so quests to get it. just an idea. =-) www.getoutwest.com for real life exploring.

I think that after you install Morroblivion, a mysterious time warp occurs and you are in Morrowind like you start in the real morrowind. you then have to complete the questline of Morrowind (original) to restore balance, you then return to where you left Cyrodiil and you can then travel to Morrwind using a boat in Anvil!
