New Auditions | Morroblivion

Hi there! I posted asking if you guys needed any more help with voices and got the response that you do need more female voice work. I was clicking on the list in the Old Hub and noticed that most of them are Dark Elves. I don't mind auditioning for that, but are there any other female roles I should look out for? If so, what names do you need auditions for?

I have the dialogue sheet on my computer, and hope to have time after work tomorrow to get some auditions in. I also have a link to some of my completed work (not Skywind related) in case you'd like to hear other samples.

I'd love to contribute to this project!

Don't bother with the dialogue sheet you have.

Each audition thread has lines for you. If you are female, just audition for everything you can.. within reason (if you know you suck at something, don't bother :P )

I like these. Langotriel and Smitehammer will decide what races you should do shortly. I would mention your "S" sounds are a bit louder, using a pop filter (or some thin clothing over a microphone) or turning you mouth so it doesn't directly point at the mic can help. I also recommend stepping back farther than you would expect from the microphone if you can which will help with this issue. It also has the added bonus of giving a more even volume in the recording due to how amplification highs and lows balance out with distance.

recordings sounds great though, I'm just giving tips to improve to an excellent level of quality

Last two tips, have you tried a low end noise gate for cutting out background noise? I couldn't hear any on my crappy computer speakers but the soundcloud file looked like it had some. noise gate would remedy this and make it sound perfect. some slight compression is also good to use (very slight 1:1 to 1:3 ratio) to be applied after the noise gate. Once again, excellent voice acting imo

I recently bought a foam

I recently bought a foam screen for the back of the mic. I've been working on stifling the S's so they're not as sharp. I also was messing with levels and EQ on them so they do sound a bit different. I am trying to get a unified sound for all of my soundbytes in the future, so your advice will definitely help!

Good for you. It would be nice to hear the raw versions if you did indeed clean the clips up. I am strict. If these clips are the latest and greatest, I will need to hear them on their own. If they are the same as you have posted before, don't worry.
