Importer character form Morrowind to Skywind

Submitted by lukkar on

It is possible to do that? I know we are not done with stats system but I think it would be cool to import character statistic from old MW save files. Because you have main attributes and secondary, birth signs, race etc. you can always generate character with 1 level. It would be cool too to import your name and character face too.

That gives me an idea.  I could probably make a mod that puts in Skyrim recreations of the old Morrowind face options as character presets.  Then you could choose the approximation of whatever face your character had in the original game, and edit that to your heart's content.
I think it would also be neat if someone were to recreate Morrowind hairstyles for Skywind.

Stats and stuff though just seems like something too easy to redo in creation to have to worry about having an import feature for.

Yeah, I know it is easy.

It`s more about the continuity. It`s great that people who played Morrowind and loved their characters, can just load them with one click.

But I think it`s great idea to have the mod your are talking also. When we have it`s really only one step further to have the full import.

The only real option is to create a small external utility that well read saves from Morrowind (they are just esp files) and create a text batch file to be executed in Skyrim's console. This batch will set players stats similar to Morrowind, add inventory, maybe even set the current quest stages. But Skywind must be finished first for this.
