Quick Question: Bone guard belt and constant effect

Submitted by Artparker on

Hello all,

I just recently installed v64 of Morroblivion and am loving it, tremendous job! I've found that there are some magic mods that affect items and their casting abilities...so far constant effect is working on every item except the Bone Guard Belt, which says "Constant effect - Summon Skeleton on Self". No skeleton seems to be summon-able or summoned.

I'm a little confused about the magic mods that change anything related to this...is this just an item not working correctly or do I need to install one of the magic mods to correct the issue?

Thanks

You need the UCWUS mod. It's already included with the full resource files if you chose to install of them. However belts don't yet have full compatibility with it.

This should make UCWUS  recognize the two belts that summon creatures. However I didn't change the other belts because not all of the enchantments seem to work properly with UCUWS and I'm not exactly sure how the system works. Hope it helps anyway.

Which enchantments don't work?

Yes, correct, I already have UCWUS installed... your attachment worked perfect! Thanks!

Just a few examples with enchantments that start out with 0 uses are:Belt of Free action, Belt of the Armor of God, Belt of Vigor, Brawler's Belt, Hearth Belt. Some of them also have an incorrect ammount of uses.

You'll need to uncheck "Auto-Calculate" flag from enchantment and manually fill "Charge Amount" and "Enchantment Cost" fields. First one is the maximum charge and second - charge for one use of the item.

Thank you, that makes sense. Can I just copy over the Charge/Cost values from Morrowind, the way they can be found here?

I also noticed a couple of enchantments had their timer increased, from 5 to 30 seconds for example. Is this intentional?

Yes, this is intentional as part of the item rebalancing.

And using the charge\cost value from Morrowind is not the best way, cause they are too low. If I done that, pretty much any item could be fully recharged with just a petty soul gem (and you still would be wasting points). For that reason I had to increase the charge\cost values quite a lot.
