Problems with Wrye Bash

Hey,

I got to the very final stages of getting Morroblivon but everytime I opened Wrye Bash and tried to click on the Installers tab it would crash. I figured I would just uninstall it then install it again. When I went to install it again, itstead of going though all the specifics, it would just say 'Congratulations the installer the detects that you have a full install of all the prerequisites already!' So I click next and instead on having that Oblivion tick box, it just has one that says 'Install Wyre Bash to extra locations'. What do I do? Before you ask, I have Vista, I installed Oblivion into Program Files and I have disabled UAC.

When in doubt, uninstall

When in doubt, uninstall everything and start over, installing Oblivion to c:\games\oblivion\ or something outside of program files. Backup your save games folder (in 'My Documents'), then uninstall everything using the windows control panel (including python etc) and when that's done, manually delete all of the folders related to Oblivion, including the one in 'My Documents'.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but sometimes that's what it takes...

Run oblivion before you install wrye bash. I was having the same problem and as soon as I ran oblivion, closed it and tried to install wrye bash, the check box for oblivion was available.

So I ran Oblivion like hollistn said and the tick box for Oblivion showed up and it worked. The only problem is I clicked no on that message that pops up when you click on the installer tab which made all the things that were in that tab dissappear despite me downloading the files again. What do I do to reverse this? If I get this to work but Wrye Bash crashes again then I shall just unistall everything like thermador said.

What did the dialouge that you clicked no to say? If I recall correctly, it should be yes to everything.

BOSS icon gone

Hello, i have gotten to the point in the installaton where im suppossed to click the boss icon so everything is in proper order but the icon isnt there for some reason and i cant figure out why. I think it might be a wrye bash setting or somthing but i really dont know. Im running windows 7 im using bash 291, and everything else the tutorial video said to use. Im so close to finishing, if anyone can help i would really appreciate it.

Try restarting Wrye Bash, but otherwise, you can run BOSS manually. The program's files are in C:\Oblivion\ or maybe in C:\Oblivion\Data\ I forget which. There is are several files, all beginning with "BOSS". One is for sorting your master list, one is for updating the program's list of mods.
