morrovlivion skies

Submitted by Shadow Nikolas on

Will please anyone tell me if there is a mod (or some way to do it) so that it will change the way it is at night in morroblivion?

I mean.. its allmost pitch black.. even with the light spell I can't see well.. no more than 10 feet

You can use a light source (torch), night eye spell or just sleep during nighttime.

Nights are not nearly as dark as I originally intended for them to be. On my setup I can still see things during nighttime (barely, but can). If you don't see anything at all maybe you should adjust the brightness in game options.

Yeah, the new nights may be a bit too dark, and too much brightness bleaches out the rest.

In my opinion the nights are much too dark in Morroblivion. Even on a bright starlit night you can't see a thing which is not realistic at all.

Here is a screenshot of the default Morroblivion Nights:

I let you decide which one looks better.

The attached mod changes the Morrowind weather data to Oblivion levels.

Actually, it is.

Well, you don't need to incorporate it into Morroblivion. I merely provide this mod as an alternative for other players who don't like pitch black nights as well.

In real life I can see very well during nights especially clear nights with full or partial moon. So I expect the same from the game. That's why I said the Morroblivion default is unrealistic especially since light sources can't really lighten things up. The only thing that helps a little is night vision but it's only a minimal improvement.

That depends on where you live actually, so pitch black nights are as realistic as not pitch black nights. Just a matter of taste.

Where you Live has Nothing to Do with the GAME of Morroblivion Change the Textures in your Oblivion\Sky Directory to Textures with more Light in it this Works.

I believe zilav referred to my real life experience. Yes, it has something to do with where you are and it also has something to do with the light receptors in peoples eyes. Some people can see better at nights than others. Of course I can only tell my personal experience and that doesn't match ingame visibility at night. That's why I made the changes to weather.

We have all these stars and this big moon casting light on the ground and still we can't see anything? C'mon. [External image]

In addition to that the transition between Oblivion light levels and Morrowind light levels was immersion breaking for me.

Only changed Sky Textures wiht game settings at 50 bright, monitor at 50 can see Creatures at night while running Landscape at Night.

Considering that Nirn has multiple massive moons, the night should be adequately lit-up all the time.

So I suppose any lighting mod applied to oblivion will effect the lighting in morrowind as well right? Would it not have been more logical to just recommend a lighting mod to go along with morroblivion thereby darkening both morrowind and cyrodiil? [External image]

Seems to be entirely out of whack actually. Rain maintains a much brighter light level at night without rain it is pitch black. Since when does rain affect brightness?
