Ajira missing or am i just blind?

Submitted by jonarnar on

Ok I just installed morroblivion (latest build i guess) and once i get to the mages guild and join it im told to talk to ajira for some starting quests. Well I couldnt find her anywhere and then I started looking online and from what I found she should be at a desk at the lower level. Well she is not there or anywhere in the guild so is she just missing or am I doing something wrong.

Edit: This is in the Balmora Mages Guild.

Try waiting for a few hours, and repeating.

Henshu has done amazing work with adding Radiant AI to NPCs and she may be out doing whatever her AI is telling her to do at that time.  Unlike Morrowind, eventually the goal is to have all NPCs have daily schedules like in Oblivion.

If that doesn't work, try exiting the Mages guild building, saving your game, and reloading it and then going back inside.

Well, after I've done her quest(before AI, if I am not mistaken), I found her dead. Didn't care much as she wasn't useful to game anymore, but then her body was also gone...

I was able to start the mages guild quests and she is present in v27-30 (only ones I've installed). Like thermador said, wait a few hours or maybe consider loading an earlier game and seeing if she appears.

I haven't scheduled her to do anything outside of the building, as I know a lot of quests are dependent on her. Of course if you guys disagree, I could diversify it a bit more. She seems like someone who should visit a bar occasionally...
Ajiras schedule:
Every day:
6AM-8AM:eats
9AM-2PM: practices alchemy at her desk
2PM-7PM: reads at her desk
8pm-10pm: eats
10Pm - 6AM: sleeps

Fridays only:
noon-3pm: Conjuration demonstration [in that little screen seperated area full of benches]

If she really seems to have dissappeared,  you could always call another copy of her with the console.

I just started another character and that time she was there, wasnt very far into the game anyway. But still stange that she wasnt there. I always kept coming back inbetween other quests to see if she was there. Also dont know if this is a knows bug but its a smal one anyway. The fake soul stone she gives you has no model, when i tried to drag it out of the inventort I just saw a big star that said the mesh was missing but ofc this is not very important since dont dont really have to remove it but thought I should report that anyway. Thx for all the helpfull replies and im loving this mod so far :)

She gets stuck in the wall/tables.  It happened to me on 2 characters.  Something about when she conjurs up the daedric armor, she gets blasted through the wall.  Or Something lame like that. It happens Right outside her corner.  The area across from all the beds.  With the tables and chairs.  She gets stuck in the space between the desk in her corner, the wall, and that area outside.  And I mean Stuck in the wall.

But on each person, as long as i talk to her, she doesn't do that.

You could try to tcl and see if she fell down outside the region.  That's also been an issue a few times for me.  Like a dremora lord or whatever is attacking me but it's invisible.  But it turns out when you turn collission off, and move about, you see him fallen off the map in some water and he's just slashing about.

I believe this is an issue with the furniture markers. Most furniture in Morroblivion right now has every available furniture marker active, meaning no matter where the chair is they can try to enter/exit from every possible angle (front, left, side, and, in the case of stools and benches, back). Unfortunately the NPC doesn't consider their surroundings, and generally ends up somewhere they shouldn't.
