House Hlaalu - Stronghold

Submitted by halaali on

The first stage of the stronghold won't get finished.

I've finished the papers needed for building the stronghold and I've visited the building place once to report that the Manor should be ready in "one week" and now my quest log tells me that Dandos Driler thanked me for keeping him informed. According to the normal quest from Morrowind I should get a new quest log one week after this that the first stage of the stronghold is ready and that I should meet with Dandos to discuss further steps.

As far as I have been able to determine, this works as it should. The Quest Update comes on the 6th day after checking back with Dandros. Has anybody else had any issues with this?

@John177

Yeah, I have the same issue on v31.

In the meantime, you can bypass this by going to Zainsipilu and killing the leader*. Zainsipilu is southeast of your stronghold in the ashlands. Or you could go to the eggmine where you just healed the queen and keep heading south until you come across a cave which will be Zainsipilu.

After you kill the leader Maros Gimayn, talk to Dondros and he should start the last stage of construction.

*Note: I just kill them all :)

I did all that i just thought it would be cool to have a guard

Ah, I see. Yeah, it would be cool to have him as a guard, except that he's freaking unreliable and doesn't show up to work on time! ;)

But seriously, the guard does not show up for me. I'm on v31. I guess in the meantime, use the workaround.

I'm having the same issue as halaali. My stronghold will not begin construction after returning both papers to Dandos.

The strongholds work fine. However, six days can seem like a very LONG time in-game, and you probably just have not waited long enough. When waiting for something it always seems to take longer. Give it time to build.

I know this is an old post, but I have encountered a similar issue in my Hlaalu playthrough as well. I am pretty sure its been longer than a week, and nothing seems to be happening.

I found an easy solution to the problem: take a boat trip to Cyrodil from Seyda Neen. A round trip takes about 6 days.
