Cavern of the Incarnate is a holy place dedicated to Azura in the northern Ashlands.

The cavern is the resting place of previous failed Incarnates (Nerevarines), and the location of a statue of Azura and the Moon-and-Star, an artifact necessary to the Main Quest line. It is located in the Valley of the Wind, a J-shaped foyada in the northeast section of the Ashlands.

As a holy place dedicated to the Princess of Dawn and Dusk, the cavern can only be entered when Azura's Star is visible (dawn and dusk).

People

All of the following NPCs are ghosts with 65535 health, making it nearly impossible to kill any of them.

Notes

  • In the unpatched version of the game, it is possible to enter the cavern from the start, effectively allowing a newly-made character to acquire the Moon-and-Star, and continue with the main questline as if you had completed the Path of the Incarnate quest.

I'll do this one

EDIT: Oops, looks like it's already been done.

I don't know if the cavern has been done yet, and I know that adding more things to the to-do list won't help the project finish sooner, but I had a thought about it that just won't leave me alone.

Given the location in igneous rock, and at the base of a foyada no less, the limestone appearance of the cave and accompanying stalagmites/stalactites doesn't fit too well. While the cavern could instead be a lava cave, perhaps instead it could be one of the volcanic formations I haven't yet seen placed yet, a gigantic geode?

I mean, it seems to fit quite well. The round cavern itself could be a geode formed of amethyst crystal, while the path leading from the door could either be a lava tube or just a simple tunnel carved into the rock. Also as a way to reduce the number of asset placements needed to create the image of the inside of a geode, very large crystals could be used for the most part, with smaller crystals as filler in-between.

Pictures Sort of a mix of this

I'm not sure how 'iconic' the original appearance of the cave was, and I'm no geological expert to tell if this is a feasible formation, but it seems like a cool idea. Thoughts?

use some assets from star of azura skyrim quest see if they look any good.

This cavern is a hard-coded model originally, so just redo it using individual assets. There are some new stalagmite models that would do the trick for most of the atmosphere.

Well, I'm working on it. I have basically zero experience with modding, so it'll be a while.
