Morroblivion Installation Problems

Submitted by SolarDifference on

Hi all,

I'm a first time user on these forums, though I've been following the TES Renewal projects for years now. I'm so excited for the work you all have done, and I have to say I'm incredibly impressed from what I have seen on your site.

Just today I attempted - multiple times - to install Morroblivion, but I'm having an issue. The program quits as soon as I attempt to launch it. Here's the information I have relevant to a diagnosis:

1. My problem: When attempting to launch Morroblivion using either Steam or NMM the game crashes back to the desktop.

2. I have legal copies of Morrowind + DLC and Oblivion + DLC through steam

3. I have followed the steps listed on the release forum (http://tesrenewal.com/forums/oblivion/morroblivion-mod-releases/8114) using the latest version of Wyre Bash to install Morroblivion.

4. When I first attempted an install, I had a few Morrowind and Oblivion mods installed (including the Morrowind graphics overhaul). I thought this might be a problem.

5. I deleted MW and Ob local content and reinstalled. Followed the same steps and it still didn't work.

6. I deleted all local content again, uninstalled Wyre Bash and NMM, and manually deleted the remaining Morrowind and Oblivion folders. I reinstalled everything, again following the instructions posted on the release forum. The game still crashes.

7. When I install through Wyre Bash, there's a Bashed Patch, 0.esp file. I'm not sure as to its function, but the game crashes with and without this file selected.

Any advice, suggestions, and help you folks could provide would be much appreciated. I apologize in advance if this issue has been comprehensively covered. I did search through the forums to see if my specific issue had been addressed but I didn't find anything. Thanks again.

Here's an update on my continual problem solving efforts:

1. When I launched via NMM I was getting an "Application load error: 5:0000065434" message. Per advice from other forums I deleted the oblivion folder in "my games." The game launched via steam.

2. My current issue: I would start a new game and it launched into the actual oblivion game rather than Morroblivion. Upon entering the dungeon an error message appeared saying OBSE was not installed properly. My character died and I had to exit. I'm currently attempting to solve this problem.

I believe I have solved my own problem. It turns out I had installed OBSE incorrectly.

I apologize for bugging anyone with this. I'll leave this up here in case anyone has a similar problem.
