Good job! Little question: It looks like there is a missing piece of wood inside the rowboat at the front (I mean main structural beams). Is this some kind of oversight or it is done on purpose?
It's on purpose. It's a piece of wood which has been broken off. It SHOULD have been colored with vertex painting, which Ravanna the Ravaging helped with, so it's not in my model but it will be ingame. I'm getting waaaaay to much credit for this, I'm somewhat ashamed because Ravanna, Eloth, Erik, Vita and the others would blow you guys away with the quality of their stuff.

Crab boat looks ... surprising (it must have enormous size to maintain adult mer).
Boat paddles made from chitine/claws would be great though.

I wonder if there could be full-boats made from skins of animals (could be used more on Solstheim) or made from skins of Netches.

I'm afraid that it is hardly possible that crab boat would float.
It comes from density of materials and shape. It is very hard to make any shell float because of geometry but it is possible. I fear that average weight of adult human will cause sinking. In my opinion it should be example of strange experiment for example putting it underwater or on shore. 
@alysander: Great idea with that skin boats. I think it is rather concept of primitive tribes. For me it should be more preferred by ashlanders that live near shore.
I was waiting in anticipation for you to post again! i love these boats, could you do a gondolier boat next?
