The Beasts Redoran makes their homes from

I was thinking recently, I read a while back that House Redoran built their homes in the shells of giant...crabs, I think. I think it would be interesting to be able to find these creatures and kill them, perhaps as part of a Hearthfire style home building quest. If they live underwater, it would make a fun deep sea battle. Could use the Mudcrab animations scaled up to giant proportions.

The crabs they inhabit (o rather just one that I know of - the Skar) are prehistoric and long extinct by the time of Morrowind.

Would be nice to find

Would be nice to find inhabited giant leg or claw in different parts of Morrowind. As Drago said that would be unplausible to see live one. Some things must be mythological and extinct (and i would prefer if dragons were too).

The West Gash and Bitter

The West Gash and Bitter Coast would be good places for that sort of thing. The 36 Lessons of Vivec imply that the West Gash rose from the Inner Sea in Vehk's fight with the Ruddy Man, so evidence of the land there having once been underwater would be a nice touch, with landslides uncovering old crab shells and that sort of thing. Also fitting that the Gash is Redoran territory.

Isn't taking the 36 lessons of Vivec literally like taking the Bible literally? Sure its a cool book but you have to take it with a cup of salt.

that's the thing about the 36, half of it is one big metaphor, whilst the rest is truth mixed in with similies. so basically the bible on steroids.

We can safely assume that

We can safely assume that parts of West Coast was once underwater and have some fossils around there - especially near limestone rocks and cliffs. But yeah, whether it actually rose from waters when Vivec was fighting a Ruddy Man is probably his imagination, so let's not put tracks of that fight around :P

I seen some ammonite assets. One-two of them could be used as habitat too, if you would prolong living-in-fossil thematics.
