NPC follow me after a rest

Submitted by Virtus on

Hi there. I have a problem of NPCs following me when I rest. This happened in Balmora in Hlaalu building, and in Ald'ruhn on the outside. I don't know how to fix this except to go outside and inside a couple of times or to fast travel. What happend is that almost every single NPC, except the guards, start following me like I'm leading them somewhere. They say nothing, nor do they dislike me (or like me) more or less, I think.

I have a couple of mods installed but nothing out of the ordinary. I use BOSS, Wrye Bash and all the important patches and mods. I followed install instructions carefully and I don't think I've messed anything up.

If there is a way to fix this I'd be happy to hear a solution. If this is a known problem, I'd like to know.

Thanks

I have a similar issue, though I'm not sure it's related to resting for me. To fix, I open the console, click on an NPC who's following me, make sure their information shows at the top, and type "Disable" and Enter and then "Enable" and Enter. They go about their business after that. I have to do this for each NPC who is following me.

I get the same thing periodically. I usually teleport away to avoid any chance of NPCs following and getting stranded. It happens in the same locations, too, Ald'Ruhn exterior and House Hlaalu (Balmora) Interior.

i get this too, everytime i sleep anywhere there are npc's,, also, ive noticed that npc's can detect you from other rooms, like if your sneaking/stealing, making it difficult to do certain quests. i dont see it as a crucial bug, if someone fixes it thats great, since you can fast travel in morrobilivon it doesnt bother me, i just rushed through the quest to have my manor built and rest there now. then fast travel back to where i was. even the two npc's in the manor you get from Hlaalu, follow you around the house, even if you dont rest.  the weirdest bug really to me is that creatures can follow you into interior cells, nix hounds, alits, guar, cliffracers, even rats and beetles can go through doors and will if they are after you. its definatley cool that the npc's can do this since thats far more realistic than being able to step out the door, rest, go back in and finish the fight like you could in morrowind. but animals, thats a nucance.
