Unimportant Question About Landscaping and Related

Submitted by Percephere on

This is just a misc question about the Skywind Project and mod compatibility. Really, it isn't anything of import.

I was just wondering if Skywind will have entirely unique flora, fauna, and landscape textures. By that I mean, will Skywind use any of the vanilla landscape (and what-have-you) texture paths from Skyrim? I ask this because some (literally all) Winter overhauls for Skyrim - mods that make Skyrim into a wonderful winterly wonderland befitting of the northernmost nation of Tamriel - replaces those textures with white/snowy ones. I noticed this conflicts with some of the other DLC-sized mods for Skyrim that add whole new exterior cells, such as the Shadow of Morrowind and the Summerset Isles expansion.

Additional Notes and Suggestions Here!

I imagine should Skywind not have its own texture directories for the aforementioned that it would be relatively simple task of copying the needed textures into wherever they need to be and using the CK to reassign the paths. Considering the sheer size of Skywind though, this would take a lot of time.

Though I think this is worth mulling over, I say it isn't too important because a simple fix and probable enhancement would be to just remove any Winter overhauls... And having copies of landscape textures would be a lot of work, somewhat redundant, and a waste of bandwidth for down-loaders and developers alike. A later, optional, patch would be more prudent.

We have an enormous custom texture library. Almost every texture we use has been made at some point by someone on the team.
