COMPLETED[PM][WRITING] Project management & others! Excited to join!

Hey all,

Skywind is a great project and what you've all accomplished is indeed remarkable. Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim have been quite a mark in my life and I would love to be able to forget them all just to play them again and be awed and amazed over and over.

I'm no artist nor coder. I look at the stuff other people have shown here and it's quite incredible. But what I can offer is help with making sure it all happens! And also eager to get my hands dirty and learn all those things that I haven't been able to dabble on.

I can also help with bringing this project to the spanish language. I know it's a great undertaking but, I believe it's as worthy as the project itself.

Looking forward to hearing (or reading) from you!

We've previously mentioned

We've previously mentioned that anyone wanting to work on translations are free to do so. If this is the route you choose to go with, Taerkalith is your go to guy, as he has all the scripts lines and so on. I must warn you tough, it's a rather daunting task, which you would be leading.

As far as 3D goes, we have no resources available to teach people how to model unfortunately. Most jobs we have left are quite large. You could give it a shot, but you'd end up standing on your own two feet most of the time.

Then theres project management, which I suppose is in reality is my department. Most tasks I do is issues I identify myself and then try to handle. So there is a lot of time involved in learning the whos' and whats' of the project, and the trying to improve on it. The main issue with this project, is that everything is volunteer work through an online channel. The foundation is very different from normal projects and implementing new things is usually quite the challenge. I won't be able to give you specific tasks, at least not at the moment but I would be able show you the ropes.

Anyway, maybe start off by thinking a bit about the direction you find most interesting.

Hey Mexileno,

Hey Mexileno,

I'd strongly advise against attempting a spanish translation unless you can gather a lot of people together as the 8 people I've given the lines to for the various different language requests have all failed to do anything beyond me giving it to them. 40,000 lines is a lot to cover! Best would be to run them into a translation program if you're serious about it and then tweak the obvious mistakes.

As Mace said, in terms of 3d, it's largely advanced models that are left. I see your real strong suit is organization though so you may want to take Mace up on his offer. You may find something that fits your fancy. VBA wise I've been handling that and we're good on that front, but good to know there is someone else with the knowledge.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe help out with writing. Smitehammer is running that right now and he is looking for some more writers to finish up custom quest content. Maybe send him a PM?

Hello,

Hello,

I also think SkyWind is a great project. If there is going to be a translator group to Spanish, I would like to join them.

PD.: For some reason, in the PDF, the MEGA links to the Proof of Skill have to be copied and pasted instead of just clicked in order to view correctly its content.

Just resurrecting this topic.

Just resurrecting this topic...

Well, I have seen there are some people interested on translating all the game lines into other languages... So far, I've seen requests for Spanish and one single request for Brazilian Portuguese (besides myself).

Is there any translation forums? Would it be interesting to create one? That way, we can try centralizing those requests and organizing translation groups for different languages (French, European and Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish and so on). It depends of course on a sufficiently big quorum to do that. It will be a great endeavor, I know, but one worth trying I think.

Hi Gcnatacini,

Hi Gcnatacini,

Creating a translation will be a rather large endeavor. So far no one has been commited enough to start a team and do a translation. Take a look at this thread for more info: https://tesrenewal.com/forums/requests-suggestions-and-quest...

In that topic, the last

In that topic, the last comment is a Excel file with the texts. Do you know if that version outdated?

I don't intend to start translating without the approval of a moderator. I just want to have an idea about the size of it.

I can't be entirely sure. Taer should come online when North America wakes up, he'll respond to this thread when that happens.

North America seems to sleeps

North America seems to sleeps a lot. Like a week.

Nah, just joking. I've started translating that Excel doc just for fun. If it turns out to be outdated, then I've been wasting my time. However, if it isn't, at least a couple of lines would be already translated (like 500).

Try sending Taerkalith a PM. He'll know.

It is pretty much up to date.

It is pretty much up to date. Minor spelling tweaks. No major changes.

(PS I was traveling for the last two weeks, hence no reply)
