The Cowards at TESNEXUS Nearly had me on a cross for asking about you guys.

Anyway.

I want to play this. Really, really bad. However: How easy is it to just install Morroblivion into an already heavily modded game? I'd love to plug this in and just play, but I bet theres a ton of incompatabilties, so.

Is there a list of what works and what doesn't? Should I post my load order? Thanks a bunch.

I think you should just install it and see how it goes. I would think you should be fine as long as you install it correctly and have the right load order. I'm assuming your game is installed in c:\programs so that will pose a problem as well.

Actually as Morroblivion has a different worldspace of its own, I don't think you'll have any incompabilities, as long as the boats from Cyrodiil to Morrowind are available.

Installation of Morroblivion, we admit, is a little hard, but I don't think it's different to install this to a free oblivion than a heavily-modded one.

Installing in c:\program files\ is a problem for oblivion in general, not just morroblivion.  it only strikes on windows vista, 7, and server 2008 though; earlier versions of windows do not have this issue

There is a section on mod compatability in the faq, you should read it: http://morroblivion.com/faq

If you are using Wrye Bash or OBMM to manage your mod installations, you should be fine regardless.  If you have been installing mods just by copying over files by hand, now might be a good time to switch to Bash or OBMM...

I use Bash, Land Magic, OBMM, and back up all of my mods and datafiles.

I'm stoked. I'm going to install tonight. Thank you guys so much.

with regards to the C:/program files issue, I found that simply moving the folder somewhere else, installing morroblivion and then moving it back worked just fine. There is no need in re-install (I'm on windows 7 btw)

I'll be installing Morrowind in C:/, and Oblivion is in C:/Program files. That gouing to cause issues?

if you're on windows 7 or vista, you'll need to move the oblivion folder to somewhere else for the install but you can move it back once everything is installed. :)

Wait, can you just move stuff around like that? I didnt think that worked due to stuff in the registry.

As long as you make sure you move the folder back into the original install location your game should run just fine.

That, thats a bit odd. Ill probably do a fresh install of Oblivion anyway and stick it in C:\ so they'll both be there.

yeah, it gave me no problems at all moving them around. As Breaker said, just make sure you move it back, that way the registry wont be an issue. Although as an aside, Oblivion doesn't actually require registry entries to run, not sure about Morrowind but Oblivion can be copied from one machine to another (found this out when upgrading my computer a while back) and just run from it's folder directly, no install, no registry entries. The only thing that doesn't work when you do this is the launcher as that DOES rely on the registry.

However, it's probably not the best idea when using mods this complex but it seems to be working just peachy for me at the moment (apart from crashing on exit but, hell oblivion has always been pretty prone to that lol) so you are probably best off doing a clean install really, just thought I'd point all that out as a matter of interest really.

I just installed mine in C:\Games\Oblivion...etc. and forget about it.  It hasn't failed me yet (well, except for the occasional bug or two and the normal Oblivion crashes, of course).  The Morrowind install was left in C:\Program Files\Bethesda...etc.
