Imperial Legion quest A Maiden's Token

Submitted by anytus on

In the Imperial legion quest A Maiden's Token given by Ismin the Dreamer, the 'secretary' of the NPC who has the glove, Allimir, likes to run in and fight the Skeleton Champion and Flame Atronauchs that are in Assumanu. If the player is fast enough they can be killed before Allimir dies, but if he does die then Varona Nelas refuses to give you the glove because she thinks that you killed Allimir. This causes her to attack you. When I killed her, I could then not find the glove.

So, in short there are 2 bugs.

1) Allimir fights the monsters in the cave and sometimes dies, altering the quest.

2) If Allimir dies (or killed by the player), and Varona Nelas is killed, the glove is nowhere to be found.

This is not a bug in the Imperial Legion quest. This is an issue with the difference between the way Morrowind and Oblivion deal with AI and rival factions. Daedra in the same cell as non-hostile NPC's is not possible in Oblivion without making custom Daedra. But it's way too late for that in Morroblivion. I have been dealing with Morrowind Monsters and NPC's playing nice with each other from the very beginning. Sheogorad seems to have more than it's share of mixed dungeons, and I have been fixing them as I go. I've done at least six in Sheogorad so far, and am about halfway through it, so there will probably be a few more. I hope to get through all of Sheogorad by this weekend for the next release. Specifically, now, all the NPC's in Assumanu will be hostile. I have added the glove to Varona's invenory so that you aren't required to get it from her through dialog.
