First off, hello, forum! Just joined. Just got Morroblivion as well, a scant few days ago - and as somebody who's enjoyed both Oblivion and Morrowind for over a decade, I can't believe I didn't download this project sooner. It's a fantastically crafted mod and plays very smoothly, and I’ve been having the most amazing nostalgia trip with it – all of the wonder of Vvardenfell without the annoying interface and UI. Kudos to all you amazing people. As a very amateur modder, the sheer scope of this project boggles my mind. Like, merging Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas is impressive, but ultimately peanuts compared to the effort involved in porting a game into another game with an entirely different engine.
Granted, ‘plays very smoothly’ doesn’t mean perfect. I do get frequent CTDs, especially on quickload, but this isn’t unusual for the number of mods I’m running (about 20-30, most minor but some fairly massive. I notice considerably more CTDs than I did before I DL’d Morroblivion, but again, this does not surprise me, and nor is it really fixable.) I’ve also had some various problems, mostly Bloodmoon-related, that I’ve gotten through with help from browsing this forum. However, the problem I’m about to report persists even if I disable all non-Morroblivion mods, and I haven’t seen anyone else mention it, so I’m posting it here in case anyone has any insight to shed.
Bloodmoon lycanthropy is completely, completely borked in my game. This would be a huge disappointment if I weren’t running Curse of Hircine – as it is, it’s more of an ‘aww’, especially because Bloodmoon doesn’t invoke the Morrowind model of werewolf like I wished it would have. But even with an arguably better system available to me, I’d love to run the Morrowind brand for old times’ sake. The Hircine quests, bouncing around Solstheim with flocks of angry Nords on my tail shouting ‘Kill the beast!’… good times. Good times.
Lycanthropy not working correctly has manifested in a number of ways. The very first time, I didn’t have Morroblivion properly installed (wrong load order, ground everywhere was missing.) I tmm1'd my way to Connorflenge Barrow anyway and proceeded to get myself infected. The cinematic played – first Hircine’s cinematic (which was odd, because I’d been infected by a wandering werewolf), upon which I loaded as a naked person without any werewolf buffs (or the bloodlust message). But then the regular transformation cinematic went on to play every five seconds or so, but I didn’t ever actually transform into a werewolf – just an unfortunately nude Breton.
However, the irregularities there can be chalked up to the game not properly working in visible ways. But fixing that, and getting Morroblivion to a playable state, has not solved the lycanthropy issues.
The next time was when I was infected among the Bloodmoon main questline, and this is the one I disabled all mods for, to see if I could pinpoint the problem. When I kept other mods on, I got the same ‘transform into a nude person’ deal, except the constant cinematics didn’t happen. When I disabled everything, things got a little interesting.
I transformed into a nude person again, but I was actually a proper werewolf nude person. I had the ‘werewolf form’ spell effect, the bloodlust message, and the nearby Skaal wouldn’t speak to me and attacked me after a few seconds. When I went to my inventory – I could equip anything, but I now had a werewolf body in my inventory, which I proceeded to put on. I had no werewolf head, and my character wasn’t model-swapped, but it was as close to being a werewolf as I ever really got with this.
However – and this is a bug that I’ve actually seen other people report – I only managed to play like this for about two and a half minutes before the game CTD’d.
The third way occurred when I equipped Hircine’s Ring. Probably the weirdest one, too. Transformed into a naked person, again, but this time I was stuck with the constant message of ‘you can’t pull off your own flesh!’ while dozens of werewolf bodies were added to my inventory by the second. Couldn’t put them on; the handle controlling equipping/unequipping seemed to be working, at least in that aspect. I had about two thousand of them by the time I finally gave up. I can only assume the script that force-unequipped your items and then added the werewolf bits was not properly terminating and was looping upon itself. I did not have the werewolf spell effect and the nearby Skaal didn’t seem to care for my identity crisis.
So, yes. That’s the deal. (Also, kudos for recoloring the Oblivion werewolf body to match the Morrowind one – I really liked that, jury-rigged it into my CoH.)
Another, less blatant problem I noticed is that Mirisa would not follow me home out of Thirsk until I got the quest from Jeleen - and she vanished after the mead hall was attacked, and never reappeared. While there is a reason behind this disappearance, technically, it wasn't that way in the base game, and I remember her asking for rescue regardless of whether or not the quest had been formally started.
Everything else has been either smooth sailing, or something I’ve either found addressed here or fixed by rooting around in the CK. Thanks for this fantastic project, and any advice would be appreciated!

Hi! Thanks for the detailed
Hi! Thanks for the detailed description of your problems -- it was very helpful in trying to reproduce your problems. It sounds like you tried out the werewolf-update3.esp and had quite a few problems with it. I'm so sorry it was the opposite of awesome for you but hopefully we can get it fixed!
First thing: Please don't let your experience with this plugin negatively affect your opinion of the game or of the real Morroblivion team. Compared to them, I am a complete novice at making mods for Morroblivion/Oblivion.
And now for the issues:
1. "repeating werewolf transformation video": I've seen this happen when testing an older version of my updates/workarounds. I think I took down the post of my older versions but make sure you are only using werewolf-update3 and that no prior version is loading in game as well. Also make sure you are only using the same version of my workaround with update 3.
2. "transform into nude person": a few possibilities: either the spell effect for "Werewolf Form" is not working, the werewolf body "clothing" is not working, and/or I have no clue what's going on.
3. "Crashing to desktop after a few minutes as a werewolf": If you get this without my workaround enabled, try using my workaround. If werewolf-update3 is enabled, use workaround-for-werwolf-update3 (make sure it is loaded after werewolf-update3).
4. "Can't pull off your own flesh!": You shouldn't see this message with werewolf-update3 enabled. If this message is showing up repeatedly, there's a conflict with either your savegame or the vanilla Morroblivion installation. The savegame might become dirty/corrupted if you mix and match mods while loading and saving to the same savegame file. There are ways to try to repair it if this is the case, but it may be easier to start fresh. And if you get this message repeating itself even after starting from a new game, then send me your active mods list.
5. Hircine's Ring: My plugin does not modify this script. In my testing, it works fine alongside the werewolf-update3 plugin. However, if you tried to wear Hircine's Ring while you had werewolf body "clothing" in your inventory, then it would indeed cause this infinite loop. If the werewolf body is stuck in your savegame file then you can manually remove it with the console commands: "player.removeitem 01f8af93, 1" and "player.removeitem 01f8a94, 1".
Good luck and thanks again for reporting your problems!
