Sometimes there are 10 people on and there are no new posts and even when someone does post they usually have to wait 15 minutes for a reply even though there aren't many threads, there are 9 other people online and their post is in one of the "Active Forum Topics". This isn't always the case and I'm as guilty of this as the next guy but we should try and work on this.
I wasn't talking about people
I wasn't talking about people not being on enough, I was talking about how sometimes people are online for ages and don't make one post but it is the summer now so some of us will have more time to work on this.

I'm not good at small talk, I try not to post anything along the lines of chit chat/spam. But I find other people's posts very entertaing, so please feel free to share whatever.....
I got a better question ..
Steph
The reason for that is because plenty of forums have an off topic section and obviously everyone prefers those forum's off topic sections but this is the only forum with Morroblivion.
Make this forum more
Make this forum more interesting, then ...

Lol, pretty interested in the Morrobilivion stuff... just not sure I have time for any extra off topic stuff right now ;)
'sides, the one thing everyone's got in common here is Morroblivion... tis no surprise that's all we talk about :D
why register
My analysis of our web traffic and click-throughs shows that most people come here, look at the download page, project release thread, and the FAQ, and then download the appropriate files. The project is pretty well documented, and virtually all questions that most people will have are answered on one of those pages.
Otherwise, three types of people register so that they can post
- total n00bs who need help,
- seasoned veterans who genuinely want to help out the project, and
- trolls
Or bystanders who cannot help
Or bystanders who cannot help create, but can troubleshoot their own installs without needing help, and just want to encourage the people who are creating content.
*ahem* yours truly *ahem* :)
Those titles arn't mutually
Those titles arn't mutually exclusive, also with the advent of tabbed browsing people tend to leave them open, and for people like me who have their PC on most of the day it's not uncommon to forget your browser is even running.
And I come online occasionaly just to see if there's more stuff in the bug section that needs cleaning up/answering/ranting.
Excuse the noob question,
Excuse the noob question, what's a troll?
;)
I'm with you Anithinks! Ever considered doing some voice recording? It's nice because you don't need to know much (actually, any) scripting...
Sometimes I leave my browser on when I'm testing or doing voice acting... But I think I talk a lot too...
Ya, and I love checking this thing for a new relz or update or patch or idea. It's really fun to see what people come up with and to see a game grow this way...
(haha, what a nerd. Talking about this stuff gets me excited.)
Cheers!
When used in reference to a
When used in reference to a forum, mailing list, comments section of a website, etc. a troll is "one who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument" (definition from here).
It's the single biggest thing that limits my involvement in internet-based social activity aside from lack of time... it's commonplace on every large forum, and it's very very tiresome... I guess some people find that kind of stuff funny, trying to wind up strangers but after a while it's just childish and becomes a kind of irritating background noise. ;)
haha @ HeWhoWatches. Thanks.
haha @ HeWhoWatches. Thanks. You are starting to convince me that you know EVERYTHING. j/k :D
My favorite was Godwin's law. Has anyone called someone else a Nazi yet? It's so funny, and yet it makes sense...
I was familiar with flaming, when I used to do a lot of forums with my friends when we were young we'ed get mad at each other for flaming people. Just never heard it called trolling or a troll until just recently...
Agreed, it can be a real downer. I try hard to be positive on forums. It can come off a little wierd, but I realize that people put time into what they write / do, and if you encourage them, they're more likely to continue working, as opposed to quiting the work or even the site. (Which is bad for business...) I also think that people are much more likely to 'troll' when their identity isn't linked to their log in name. I like to try to fight that. Just because I may never meet the person in 'real' life doesn't mean they aren't a person or that they don't matter...
I mean, what if that person you're trolling is actually a MMA fighter who lives down the street?
I like your positivity!
I like your positivity! Enthusiasm and support keeps mods and forums alive...
I mean, what if that person you're trolling is actually a MMA fighter who lives down the street?
Lol, that would be excellent... mid-troll and suddenly there's a knock at the door... :D
Or indeed, if every forum kept an actual troll for that same purpose...
"Special delivery, please sign here..." [troller begins to open suspiciously large crate as the delivery man drives off quickly]...
"Wonder what this this... wurr? What the?!"
"RRRAAAAAAAARRRRGH!"... Nom Nom Nom...
Problem solved! In fact the only downside I can see is that you'd have to catch the troll again. I wouldn't volunteer for that job. Also, it being a mythical creature and all that... but hey... failing that a tiger might do. A hungry one.
I don't like trollers... :D
Haha, thanks LinuxMan. And I
Haha, thanks LinuxMan. And I like the troll idea. If it doesn't work, then we could dress the tigers up as trolls... and since the people signed for it, it would then be their responsability to capture, and we could always get new tigers...
So basically, this is totally plausable.
:D Who says we can't do off topic? We just needed a little encouragement. :)

This made me chuckle! Just what I needed after a long day at work :D
