[WIP] A Possible Solution to Levitation Issues.

Submitted by Dragon_Knight X on

Greetings, this is, obviously, my first post on these forums. I've just started playing Morroblivion within the past 6 hours, and so far I am very pleased. There are the occasional little bugs and missing textures (most notably textures missing on the candlestick of the Bamboo Candle)

In any case, I've been scanning over the boards and I've noticed that so far no one has found a way to impliment levitation in a way that allows for collision and interiors. There may be a way though.

That is a link to VipCxjs' Air Fight System.  It impliments flight abilities that are collision based and still work in interiors. (I've tested this even in Telvanni Towers and it works fairly well. It is not quite as good for interiors as levitation was in Morrowind, however, it does work and it might be a viable way to include a proper levitation effect into Morroblivion.

If the developers are already aware of this mod, then I apologize for suggesting something allready known, as it is pretty new though, I thought it might be worthwhile to suggest it.

Alright, this one's properties are more closer to Midas's.

The only difference now is in the NiStringExtraData which can only be copied ...

Also someone should contact Xilver for permissions ... I know that Supreme Magicka uses the same script so its likely that we can get permission as well.

Xilver hasn't logged on since sometime in January or February if I remenber correctly.

Ah yes that's just the job... thank you Hashmi!

Original 7z file linked above has been updated, removed the file for the second test archive as we don't need it anymore. I can't edit that post to remove the second link though, not sure why.

I was unable to message Xilver via TESNexus' messaging feature (it's disabled), and after a scan of the readme, etc. couldn't see a contact email address. However, I have attempted to send a message via youtube / google using messaging link here. Don't know at this point whether we will get a response, but fingers crossed! ;)

first off thanks guy for coming up with a solution

to david in morrowind levitation was quite important since a lot of places required you to levitate to where you needed, a side from the telvanni towers several artifacts and rare items (usually deadric) were hidden in places largly unreachable noramally, it also really helped in tribunal when your exploring the sewers I recall several places with steep inclines or drops that made levitation really nessary.

also in the main quest  in tribunal the ruins of barem dul (cant remember the name) go from a cave to the ruins, I remember some objects that you coul walk down on but I would often get stuck.

tldr: the work around you guys did helps with the main morrowind quest but  a real solution to levitaion would be much better and would allow people to explore morroblivion better

Hey, this is a tad bit off topic, but what the heck?

Could we change player to target in the script, and make it so that npc's could use levitate? That would be pretty cool to have npc's that had their own levitate spells....

They would fly into rocks and get themselves trapped almost every time they use levitation.

Dumb npcs.....
