Morroblivion Console Commands Not Working

Submitted by eaj155 on

Hey All,

After recently installing Morroblivion, I ran into the Morag Tong quest were you have to give the GrandMaster the 26 items of Sanguine. I did not want to (but ended up having to) go find them all of seemingly random locations on the map. So I tried to add them via console using commands from the oblivion comands list: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Console using Morrowind Ids. When that did not work I tried using Morrowind Commands list: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Console using Morrowind Ids. That did not work either. I thought that it was only the Sanguine items so I tried a Steel broadword, gold, and a few spells. To my dismay none worked. Any help will be appriciated!

This is also frustrating me. When my NPC's die they disappear leaving me no way to loot the item I need.

What do you mean they disappear?

After killing them they just seem to dissolve into the ground, completely disappearing.

That's really weird, I'm not sure this is related to Morroblivion though. Does it happen everywhere or only in certain locations?

It's the old bug with the broken meshes that allow dead characters to fall through the floor. Happens mostly with NPCs in daedric ruins (corners and stairs) but also some dungeons and almost always with ascended sleepers in sleeper dungeons/dwemer ruins which also breaks the lighting system and prevents the map from being recorded for that interior cell afterwards.

Ascended sleepers or other creatures/NPCs falling through the ground/stuck inside objects in outer areas often causes severe frame drops because the CPU is busy with calculating a path back to the game world although such path doesn't exist. This endless looping is not good for performance...

Both are bugs with Morroblivion that are so old that they have a beard as long as Brainslashers avatar. [External image]

As long as nobody bothers to release the fixes from the past 1.5 years we will have to live with the bugs.

@original topic

You can use the console commands but the IDs are not as in Morrowind. The easiest way to figure out the Morroblivion IDs is probably the use of TES4Edit. Just start it and let it load all the data files. Then in the left tree expand Morrowind_ob.esm -> Clothing. Sort by EditorID and scroll down to fbmwSanguine<something>. On the left side you can see the FormID of each item. Make a note of the IDs that you need and add them ingame with:

player.additem <FormID> 1

I have been playing around with finding console commands that work for the Morrowind quests within Morroblivion. If you have a quest that you are having issues with, make the quest active and then use the command "showquesttargets" to find the Quest ID. Figure out which stage you need to progress the quest and use the command "player.setstage <QuestID> <Stage>". This has worked for me on a number of bugged quests, (e.g. Fjol the Outlaw).

A quick heads up about the "NPCs and creatures falling through the floor" issue.

I installed "Eloth's Visual Overhaul v1.0 Repack (by Phased)" http://tesrenewal.com/forums/morroblivion/mods/1449 and haven't had a single NPC or creature fall through the floor anymore and also the problem with the Ascended Sleepers I mentioned above is gone.
So this package may be worth a try for other players as well.

Eloth's overhaul has some missing textures. Nothing  problematic but you might want to remove some files from the package. I described the issue here: http://tesrenewal.com/comment/81590#comment-81590.

If I remember correctly this is an issue that arose with some new performance enhanced collision meshes of daedric interiors. I haven't seen this problem in other set pieces though. I fixed it by extracting the old files from the BSA of an older version.

Thanks for these pdfs and your Morroblivion modding guide!  You've inspired me to get involved and contribute to the Morroblivion community too!
