Probably not the best place to put my intro thread, but it's more a question about Morroblivion than anything else.
My question is this,
How exactly have people been going about the conversion process? I haven't actually seen anything to indicate how, and I'm not quite computer literate enough to understand from the files.
Just wondering, because I'm curious as to why the Morrowind files are needed.

1. No 2. Somebody else
1. No
2. Somebody else probably will.
3. Maybe...
4. The leveling system so far will be going to be in oblivions format, but later on that might change when the mod is completed.
5. The mod is made for NO MODS for oblivion to be plugged in. But I found out that that isn't the case. I DO know though that FCOM or... I think it's the mmm in FCOM that doesn't work with morroblivion. I have about 100+ mods that works with morroblivion. But I did have to disable some parts of FCOM.
6. Maybe little things to fix bugs and stuff. Not drastic stuff.. Unless you're talking about the graphics and stuff... :D
7. Hard to say... I'm not working on it. David Wolf is on hold... There's a couple modders out there in modder land. I think maddog_latrau will mod it 'cuz he has some chitin weapons out there. It probably won't get done in.... 990394856203984 years. Not kidding. Elder scrolls 5 might be out before this is created... >.>
8. I haven't but somebody did and it was shut down by Bethesda. This has no support what-so-ever by them.
9. Yes... I'm not an expert on that stuff because I didn't use the converter, but it does convert simple stuff like textures, landforms, etc. They do have an easier way to download morroblivion without the converter, but it's posted in some other forum... And I'm too lazy to look for it. :D
10. I haven't. I don't think David Wolf has. Some other users on this forum probably did. Like look on youtube. It's allover the place.
11. The system requirements are.... same as oblivion's. If you can already run oblivion and morrowind... then you're good. :D
12. Yes they are, but it's a work in progress and they are not done.
13. Not as of yet... right now it's considered "visiting" morrowind. You can't create a char on morrowind. :( I hope it will be like that soon though. But you can have your char on morrowind and oblivion by creating another saved game. That's all I can tell you.
14. It can only convert simple stuff like textures etc. So if it's a simple texture replacer, then yeah it will convert morrowind's over to oblivion's.
15. No, and I don't think that will happen either. This is morrowind, not oblivion.
16. Right now in the morroblivion bug fix mod, people's ai is just imported from oblivion. So it isn't any better.... :(
And Tristero, you have to have Morrowind to have this mod because Bethesda considers it illegal. There is an alternative download that is illegal, but it will still work. Look around in the forums for it. It's not going to be up for long. ;)
I see. So it's really a case
I see. So it's really a case of legality than actually needing the files.
I already have all of The Elder Scrolls Series, but after playing Oblivion, Morrowind disappoints me in a lot of aspects. I was just personally wondering if the legal problems had something to do with using actual files from Morrowind, which I can see as being illegal. If that was the case, I was wondering if just making it from scratch (*shudder*) would be easier from a legal and technical standpoint.

He11Kn1ght there's a FAQ
He11Kn1ght there's a FAQ also, there' s alot of Topics that you can check in order to find answers to those questions. Done? Hell... Morroblivion is "done" since a long long time ago! We're working on improvements right know, trying to make it better; but hey is not a easy job to remake the map of an entire game, that takes time.
Tristero actually Bethesda request to shut down Morroblivion is pointless, since the creator (Galadrielle) didn't use textures or meshes from Morrowind, this is why Bethesda can't take any legal actions on this particular matter.
Seeya!
So their request to shut it
So their request to shut it down has no legal grounds?
Similarly, I'd like to know how you guys/guy are working on this. Is it something that converts the textures from Morrowind, or are you just making a new cell and making it look a lot like Morrowind (read "a lot" as "just like")?

Hi. I'm new. back when i was
Hi. I'm new. back when i was playing Morrowind alot. It was 1 of my favorite games. then I stop playing it because I'd get so many crashing problems when i get so far into the game. Not sure exactly but I think the crashing had something to do with the teleport or transportation being used so much. Anyways ive been playing Oblivion alot with not so many problems but i still like Morrowind much better. I see hope playing Morrownd again through Morroblivion.
Not the Smartest person in the world so i installed the Omod version of Morroblivion. I have a few questions.
will there be a complete Omod version Morroblivion. I know the Omod version came from that blog site that DavidWolf pointed out. Just wondering if you have an idea?
Is there a way to put the voice files from Morrowind back in Morroblivion?
Can you use any mod from Morrowind. for an example better bodys 2.2 mod, The romance mod?
Sorry if I'm asking dum questions. Thanks in advance.
Just as an FYI, Morroblivion
Just as an FYI, Morroblivion is not Morrowind. If a mod works in Morrowind, it does not mean it will work in Morroblivion. Similarly, if a mod works in Oblivion, it doesn't mean it works in Morroblivion. Some mods just glitch each other out.
There may be a complete Morroblivion at some point. It's highly possible, but it may not be in the near future.

Some thoughts
Hello there
I have to tell you, I am very happy and impressed about your hard efforts converting the amazing graphics of oblivion to Morrowind. However, to be sincere, I do not really get the point of the whole thing without being able to play the Morrowind quests. It is nice to wander around, but after a time it becomes really boring. Please do not take this as criticism, I really respect your efforts. My question is in this matter, too.
I'm not a person who knows anything about programming, Im just a simple user. So. If you could convert the whole graphics of Morrowind to the level of Oblivion, what is the reason of the fact that is impossible to convert the texts, and missions? It sounds easier to me than the graphics.
Wandering around this forum, sy from Your Team posted this link:
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19132
Where sy started to "translate" Morrowind Quests to Morroblivion. However I find this work impossible to finish in a human life for a single individual considering the fact, there're a H U G E amount of main and side quests existing in Morrowind (I guess at least twice as many as there are in Oblivion, but maybe I'm wrong here). So, do you think that a such "Mission Converter Tool for Morroblivion in Morrowind" EVER comes to our Plane of Existence, or it has no possibility at all? :D
Thanks for your kindness, your time and replies.
Its not impossible to
Its not impossible to recreate all quest , its take a long time if only 1 person do it.... to make quest you need first : npc and locations so until this is done its useless to think in quest...
in my opinion the mod need a lot of work to finish all textures , items , npcs , etc . After that the voices and stuff and parallel to this the quests.
The problem with this mod is that are a lot of people working but in different places and times and doing the same thing ..... if all of this people join the project is done in few months.
That's true man. That's why
That's true man. That's why I'm saying: create a CONVERTER that makes the job instead of using time to write the whole thing into new files manually. I was wondering in my previous post if it is possible to create such thing. That would save the time, and work.
mmmm i don't think so if
mmmm i don't think so if someone already done this it has to be in some place but dont think so , its a problem with the trademarks and all of that
still why dont you try to learn how to mod simple things ( like me ) and start rewriting :D
Maybe I would, but I don't
Maybe I would, but I don't start a work that I do not see the end of. :D
i am a 360 user
i was wondering if you would make a download for the xbox format
if not do you know if it is posable to do that myself
and i think it is terrible that bethesda is giving you no support. i mean they could sell it and make some money instead of being a bunch of babies

Hi :)
