How to install Morroblivion through OBMM?

Submitted by crossboy91 on

Hello, I came upon this site a month or so back, made a couple of unsuccessful attempts to install, then gave up. I just came back yesterday to try to figure it out again. I watched MrThermador's videos, all of them, to try and do it the "easy" way. So I got bash and all the other necessary downloads, installed bash, extracted the installation files for Morroblivion and the VVardenfell Imports into the "Bash Installers" folder under "Oblivion Mods" (yes it is one folder outside the standard oblivion folder, still under the "Bethesda Softworks" folder). I came across that same problem that effected a few others, with the Installation tab in bash not doing anything. I read through that forum topic looking for insights, not finding what I needed (I did try reinstalling and deleting mopy and the 2 bash files in My Games/Oblivion as someone said in that topic). If anyone could help me with either method of installation, I would be very grateful indeed.

Why don't you do it manually, maybe you won't be able to erase Morroblivion, but possibly make it easier to play?

I guess I could try, I've always used obmm because i liked to be able to activate/deactivate simply, for example if i didnt like a mod (I have at any given time about 60 mods running :P ). If it fails there's always the option of reinstallation

i actually have that problem too. but i got around it. Moreover i have the problem with making order in the installer tab because it takes so much time to even move one simple mod. But hear me out, i got around it too.

( note that i'm also total newbie for this but this worked for me with clean installation also you might want to check out wyre bash guides and tutorials )

1-first of all make sure that you extract your download packages in bash installers folder and make sure that you open up a new folder for each and every mod (don't use archives & i even created a folder for additional support files because it gets updated time to time) and also double check your version with OBSE and installation folder for oblivion (oblivion installation shouldn't be under program files)

2-open wyre bash as shown in video, go to installers tab and wait for load. as it seems the list is empty. right click to the empty list area and select full refresh, right click again and select refresh data. still no ?

3-create a new folder in desktop and copy a trash unused random .esp file in it. DRAG & DROP this new folder in to the empty installers tab list. Confirm for copy action. it will try to copy this folder in to your bash installers folder therefore it will forcefully refresh all the files in your bash installers folder. Now beware this will take some time like 5 minutes (even more with the recommended mods upto 15 minutes ). the list will show up but the order will be alphabeticly.

4-moving a mod on installer tabs, up and down with ctrl button key will take forever (try it for yourself)! instead, go to your bash folder and rename your individual mods folders with numbers at the begining ( also don't forget to close the wrye bash as you would rename the folders it would scan all the time and cause excesive waiting times. don't even thinking minimizing wrye bash, it will cause for much worse). Start with 000 and go on like 001 002 003... till the very end (ie. "002 vvardenfell imports" and "003 morroblivion v40"). Next time you launch wrye bash and load your installers tab ( it might not show again, just drag & drop your new folder on your desktop with trashy .esp file with in it to the empty installers tab list and confirm for copy action again and wait) This will load your mods to the list now with alpahabeticaly ordered with numbers which will result that you don't have to move the mods up and down.

5-in installer tab it shows up a label "packages" somewhere near upper left corner (right under installers tab label). Right click on packages label and unselect Skip OBSE plugins . otherwise it wont copy contents of OBSE folder which would prevent elys voices mod and stuff works with OBSE folder dll's.

6- Right click one of your packages and select install all ( beware that some of the most complicated mods on nexus are not working like this installation, but with wizard tool. which is not realy our concern now for morroblivion installation )

7- Make order in your Mods tab and activate them. run the game with obse and enjoy. once it's all installed, you may never use wrye bash again. ( i wouldn't for sure cuz it's so much resource killer ) just make sure to run your game with obse.

PS : note that specialy scripted omod files for OBMM are not to be used with wrye bash or else will not intall propperly most of the time!

ps2 : refer to my screenshot for folder renaming and maintaining order in installers tab http://i.imgur.com/BuEA6.jpg

i hope this works out for you too. i'm not sure about running wrye bash and OBMM at the same time so better be carrefull with what you're doing.
