[ANIMATION] Junior Animator Looking to Help

Hey! I've recently finished Uni and while job hunting I'm really after some more experience. I'm also helping the crowd-funded 'Troll Bridge' production with animating which is why I put moderately-active.

I have no experience with game animation because I've done my BA in more film-ish animation (so experienced with Maya and Modo), but I'm a quick learner and love learning (and The Elder Scrolls of course! Lore lover here hehe) so would love learning some new software and stuff!

Cheers!

Dor

EDIT:

Also I know a bit of rigging, probably not enough to set up a rig alone but if you need any help with Blend Shapes, Corrective Blend Shapes or maybe some minor fixes I can probably help out!

The programs that you will

The programs that you will need to know within the animation department:

  1. Doc: Documentation files
  2. Java: **Havok Project Handler**, for inserting new races for actors, handles the tasks related to manage custom animations and behaviors for HKX file format. **primarily intended for *Coders* and *Modders***
  3. max11: Skyrim MAXTools, a collection of MAXscripts intended to load proper configurations and do complex tasks in order to obtain Gamebyro (NIF) and Havok binary (HKX) loadable into the Skyrim game. **primarily intended for *Animators* and *Riggers***
  4. nifplugin: a customized forked version of VS **MAX Nif Export Plugin**
  5. thirdParty: third party tools binaries to be used by the above tools.

It is your requirement to research and understand these programs.

The tasks that the animation department have for you are as follows:

  1. ### Export NIF mesh from an already rigged *creature*###
    1.  If you already rigged a new mesh to a vanilla skeleton and simply need the

replacement to be referred by a CK entry.

  1. ### Export Skeleton ###
    1. If you already have bones and ragdoll
  2. ### Havok quick export ###
  3. ### Batch FBX Convert of a vanilla rigged model using **Skyrim MAXTools** ###

How is you comfort level with this?

I am very comfortable with

I am very comfortable with learning all those. Would I need to prove my knowledge in them before getting something to work with? Or do you provide like a simple job at first to get used to the tools?

Got any good resources to learn those tools (I'm guessing the documentation?)?

EDIT:

I see there is some stuff in the Animation forum about the animation process, so gonna check that out too :)

I went over the guides and stuff and it seems like it's doable... first time I might ask a few questions but wouldn't mind trying something out and see how it goes :)
