Molag Amur has actual toxic ponds, because of the sulphur from all the lava lakes. West of Molag Amur we have that part of ashlands with lake Nabia though, and that one I'd like to be a bit less lifeless part, so that the transition from lush Ascadian Isles is a bit less sudden. As for Grazelands, I'm not really sure if any bigger lakes would form there, streams and ponds perhaps. But I don't think they'd be warm ones, there isn't much volcanic activity in there... I think the ones in Molag are enough.
Ah, one more important thing, that probably can be done pretty quick - remember to put streams or springs of clean water near every ashlander camp. Eventually some deep wells covered with a shalk shell (but that could be harder to do). I think ashlanders move mostly when the water source moves.
Actually, now that I think of it Urshilaku most likely take water from caves. Most of those around their camp are flooded, especially their burial caves. There must be some underwater river system under the northern wastes of the ashlands. Perhaps a little new cave that acts just as a water supply, but even that wouldn't be necessary.
Hi, I'm New here. I'm a concept artist and I would like to contribute. Here is a Paintover I did of a screen grab. I am not sure what needs to be done but I will keep checking in. If there is anything specific that needs work please point me in the right direction. Otherwise I will keep doing these for fun anyway.
Wow, this is really awesome! This could easily be a good concept for Tel Uvirith, I think it would be perfect for that. Please make more! It can be ashlands, as I described them a few posts above.
I don't know if Molag Amur idea as closed area is accepted or not. As caldera surrounded by mountains and connected only through short tunnels (not interiors) there is no need to create any transition. I see flora for Lake Nabia as sth very alien compare to the rest region. Maybe some weird shaped fungus (I didin't remeber but maybe someone created it) or maybe like flora around hydrothermals vent but on the ground.
@lyntonlevengood I like ashlands_01 idea. Good for Molag Amur area. Especially those vents and pumice rocks.
@Felix I totally agree with u :P This is impossible but I see this bridge like in Indiana Jones movies (half-burned, tricky and devastated)
I have idea for rock formation in Azura's Coast region. Bigger size
Thre is a lot of room for some cliff racers and for their nests. Whole formation will be similar to wave rock in Australia. It would be good viewpoint for whole region.
I'm not modeler but I think this is quite easy to do. Red circle is area which where is formation, yellow where is pass and path but it's all up to u.
I like it! just one thing, i think that formation should be in more arid location preferably in west gash or maybe in Grazelands as both your concept and real life location seem to me as arid
I thought I would take a crack at one of these Telvani homes. I didn't want to stray too far from the original. I added light passing through the domes. I imagined that they would capture light and filter it throughout the building. Also added some dangling bioluminescent orb things.
Would it be possible to use some scripts to tweak a few graphics variables, maybe decrease sub-surface scattering, or the colour of the light coming off the water slightly? In different areas, of course. To make oceans and rivers in different places unique.
More like abandoned open pit mine. With more stuff around like some skeletons, corpses of slaves, falling rocks, guard towers etc. Landscape a bit similar to ancient roman mine in Spain
After rinsing they took what was on the surface (not completely depleted, some ore left on surface) they started mining along vein of ebony.
I will add rocks in open pit similar to this below.
And I will change architecture here a bit too.
More shacks for more slaves. Mine guard tower moved a bit more to north. And added high fence and gate around shacks, next to the footbridge. Similar like prison in ministry of truth.
THANK YOU LUKKAR! I really hope your Caldera concept comes to fruition. I was literally thinking about the Caldera mine last night and hoping that it would receive a major facelift. As is, the mine (which I believe is supposed to be the largest mining operation on Vvardenfell) was just sort of... blase. I felt like it could use more and your vision seems pretty solid. The rock formations in particular are awesome.
Something else for the devs to consider, is how many large mines have a tiered pattern as the mine progressively goes deeper. See the tiny image below:
It's pocket desert, and I treated it as real tiny desert. Nice distinction compare to ashlands. I think we have all assets and terrain textures. I wanted to create assets set for this but I think it is just too small we can just use what we have in west gash (add dunes and sth similar to get unique experience) Maybe I just create it in some future just for fun.
I'm not sure if it is completed but I always wanted to do concept for that.
It looks totally different than original but I think it's better to make it more dynamic than static like in vanilla. To get more life here and create it more spicy I propose to create as caldera type. Depression with shallow tiny lake inside surrounded with high ice walls. From lake will flow under ice small stream. By day from giant ice tower will fall waterfall (or a few more) to small pond. I don't see reason why we can't expand glacier a bit to the north and to the west.
Hi guys, I just saw this Quite exciting environment delight through National Geographics, could be interesting for Ashland territory, or similar deserty area.
The color of such springs is not generally because of acidic compounds, but bacteria and archaea that live at different temperature zones.
The water is not necessarily toxic, just lends a temperature gradient that favors different bacteria along the range.

I think we can achieve this effect with vertex colours.
It'll have to be a few meshes rotated about the centre of the pool.
I was hoping to use some small ones in grazelands south, but is it mostly molag?

First shot at ashlands, It's a paintover of a screenshot. Will upload more as I get them done.
Second paintover of ashlands,
Wasn't it stated that new-style Ashlands concepts aren't needed anymore?
Only the Red region of the Ashlands was made so far. Rest is yet to be made, so it's a good time to design it.
Oh yup
i really like the rock of molag amur, but i really dont think that bridge would last long made out of wood and ropes. maybe stone?
Piece for Sheogorad region. Bigger size --->http://lukkar.deviantart.com/art/Shegorad-452180786

Thanks Lukkar,
Another paintover concept for ashlands.
Have also attached the other 2 just so they all together. If there is another region I should be doing please let me know.
Edited

Lynton: Absolutely love that concept art!
This looks amazing...
@Silvermodder I agree it's better for some more arid regions like West gash.
Thanks Darkraven :)

I am thinking this Telvanni concept is a winner. Its getting to the stage where we really need to get a modeler to create these assets.

Check this place out. Might give some good ideas for the new caves planned for Ghostgate.
Yeah, sulfuric flames is great.

wow those images are surreal! i really hope something like that appears in Skywind
@Smitehammer I think It will be good for Mzuleft. There is some volcanic activity there, could be more alien compare to the rest of Vvardenfell.
Some concept art from Elder Scrolls online
I think something like this would do well in the purple area of the Ashlands, near Lake Nabia. (Taken from deviant art: http://natmonney.deviantart.com/art/Fantasy-sunset-landscape...)
Рinewood coming to desert looks unnatural but very nice. May be it's possible to imitate this charm with ash and mushrooms.
Caldera mine proposition.

I've done it for myself not for Skywind particular. It fits more ingame painting than concept. Just Morrowind Landshaft.
