By ripping apart an ash hopper from dragonborn in the same way I did the dreugh, i've been doing new chitin armour and with the help of ashking will be doing the weapons.
Heres the current armour and the zbrush project that spawns the high polies for the chitin.
*this is currently WIP, i have no sculpted true detail yet, only the basic shapes and pieces*

[RELz] Chitin Weapons and Armour #2

Do it again!
Wow, this looks really good. But I would recommend modeling a Scrib first and using the Scrib's body parts to assemble Chitin Armor. The Ash Hopper and the Scrib, though similar, do look a bit different. Perhaps the Ash Hopper is a darker variant of the Scrib... sort of like how there are different types of insects within a single insect family in the real world.
Does this mean Kurasaki's Chitin Armor has competition, or has been replaced, or will both be in the game?
You could even have different Scrib Chitin and Ash Hopper Chitin versions, I suppose.
jezus christ man... your like a magician only there is not trick and you are actually using magic :o
In all seriousness it looks insanely good!

yes! why not use both armors?
This is looking crazy Ravanna. It's beyond me how you managed to stich an armour true to my concept, but out of ash hopper pieces D: It's looking awesome - can't wait for your take on the helmet!
One thing you could possibly improve maybe (although it's okay as it is), is to make the lower back of the armour segmented as well. I guess there wouldn't be much point having the front in segments, if the back is stiff anyway :P Unless it's supposed to be leather, than try to make it a bit more clear ;)
Other than that, ho - ly poop.
Looking great, Ravanna! My only crit would be what Dragomir said, and possibly chitin plates covering the backs of the boots.
Chest and arms are flawless! It does look like the chitin was glued onto regular leather boots though. I really like the ribbed design of the armor - gives it a skeletal feel that isn't quite as apparent in other armors. Can't wait for the helmet :D
amazing work Rav!

A shalk would be a better choice. They are domesticated for their chitin, resin, and I think they might produce scuttle as well. Scrib, on the other hand, are far too small to efficiently make armor (except maybe small bits, like gauntlets).
You're probably wondering why chitin is white while shalk are black. Chitin is not just ripped from the husk and stuck onto armor, it has to go various treatments in order to be combat-ready, which ends up bleaching material.
it is perfect, however ash hopper not the same with scrib.
I can turn this chitin into other types by recolouring and adding sculpt detail.
If someone can come up with a scrib chitin texture or full model that would help/
I think it looks perfect how it is. It's a light armor so adding plates to the back of the boots seems unnecessary, and having solid plates for the back and forearms keeps it from looking like bandages at a distance. The distribution of lines and the interruptions there of is at a good balance. If we are going to do a heavy version, like they do in Dragonborn, a more complete coverage and the inclusion of shalk elements might be a good idea.
I also like the color. When we make scribes, I suggest we match the color to the ash hopper. The bleached bone chitin of the original was one of the biggest eyesores of the game.
The only thing I don't like about this armor is that it raises the bar so high for the quality of the weapons I have to make to match. Curse your talent!!!
Da and yum. I'm actually able to see everyone's work since the active topics got fixed :D
dida version like dragos, but then warped the ash hopper head and i think it fits better
I will dull the spikes add goggles like i drew.
This is perfection.
Looks awesome Ravanna.
it would just fall from the back of his head wouldn't it? cause it ain't attached somewhere. but the look and feeling of it is really great
I dont add attachment rings/resin and sculpts until all the pieces are in place and we;re happy with design
That helmet looks great! The goggles were the best feature of the original set.
Here is where I'm at with the weapons. The two on the left are different views of the bow. Right now I'm working on the axe, and then it's just the arrows.
Doesn't really look that similar to the Morrowind one but really nice nonetheless.
Love your work, Ravanna :D
Hoping to see that armours soon ingame ^ ^
Finished!
Want changes?
Bite me.
ps. proportions may seem odd as I favored FOV 90 which warps perspective
dafuq wheres the image

This is perfect!!!
That is absolutely stunning. You show us creations of skill and grace that we mere mortals can only but aspire to.
What does it look like when you have a really bulky character?
Wheres the nipple ring? It looks great Rav.
like shit. down with fatties.
the views of ravanna are not representative of the TESRP team at large...

Wait, What? You do not like Man boobs? Ahh Come on.All joking aside. I love your work on this Rav. It looks to be very authentic and realistically made from a bug. But, we are missing the most important thing. The female version!!!!!!!!!! I wanna see what b**b's look like in it.
female version is identical apart from perhaps 2 extra pieces and thinner frame
:)) u will be again 1st in top images @nexus ^^
PS: does the helmet scale ok with beast races?
wowz amazing!
Ravanna Looks awesome man!
beast races get morphed versions when u wear them
I've been chugging away on the low polys of the weapons, and I thought I'd see what people thought. I only have the spear left and I don't like the Morrowind version at all, so I'm cooking up something.
Any critics will be welcome.
To Ravanna I have to ask, whats a brutha gotta do to get a Redoran Watchman's Helm?
finished the bake and 90% of the texture detail.
need to reduce polies down to 15k then rig.
tries various links cos he got irate with lack of upload
-please delete this and previous message, will continue posts when site is fixed-
do the images work yet?
if i click on the link the picture shows up... if thats what you want
And by the way: It looks great. love it!
Just when you think alex is gone, he comes back... You guys cant get rid of me. here it is with fully functional morphs, helms for all, oh and no ground models yet
Whoop, whoop, now that looks better than Bethesda would make. We got some serious game going on.
this is how it looks in daylight!
What do the beast morphs look like from the front? Do the goggles line up with their eyes alright?
yeah i did morphs for beast races, khajitti jaw is wider, and argonian eyes are wider

Posted in a wrong place before, my bad. So here is my vision of the Cepahlopod, so if you are going to make Telavani's Cephalopod's helmet, you can use it like a ref
That thing looks cool, but it's not a cephalopod. Make sure it's got legs only on its head, even if you're going for more buggish than mollusk.
Coming soon to a fashion savvy Dunmer near you, The Redoran Watchmer's Helm.
my favorite helm! Great work! If I may ask, what inspired you to make the neck blue?
I was inspired by not having Ravanna's original texture files to match up to, lol. I do now, so it will have the same cloth as his armor set. I think that most NPC's that wear this, wear it with the chitin armor.
Cool! Anyway, amazing work once again!
