FOREWORD: Welcome to the Official MOTF Thread - The Ultimate Fix for Galadrielle's Morroblivion. This project is unrelated to the French Morroblivion Project, we are using our own ressources to avoid any unnecesary attentention and the goal is to repair/fix, some of the aesthetic and core problems with Morroblivion.

Hello again, I'm doing a lot of progress with MOTF but since I'm working on this alone and I dont have a lot of free time... help is needed.

THE GOAL:

Is simple, this is the Morrowind world inside Oblivion, why don't optimize the world with new Objects, Effects, Items from Oblivion, I love Redoran and Telvanni Architecture so this will not be modified just optimized and MOTF will include new HD textures that fits the quality of Oblivion.
This is 2009, not 2002 so ... there's a lot of things that can be done with the new technologies of our curerent time. Let's exploit that and use it, and let us give to Morrowind and new glowing and vibrant face!


¡LONG LIVE MORROWIND!

All the things done in MOTF at this stage are:

*Fixed clutter and faces in: Balmora, Moonmoth Legion Fort, Caldera, Ald' Ruhn, Buckmoth Legion Fort, Seyda Neen, Pelagiad and Dagon Fel (I start there)

*New MapMarks in all those places.

*New vanilla-like high definition Map.

*Over 60 new high definition textures with their respective normal maps. Some reworked, some redone and some totally new.

*Fixed lands and lights on all those locations.

*Fixed Music, now when you arrive in a Town, Public Music starts.

*Fixed Music in Dungeons (working on)

*Fixed clothes, armor, weapons, etc in all those locations.

*Decoration, ambientation in progress.

*2 New stables with horses.

*2 new Guar stables in Ald' Ruhn and Balmora (working on)

*Roads has been redone.

*Balmora Guards have new Helmets

*Forts looks like FORTS. New models to be included.

*Sunder, Keening and other Weapons are back. (working on)

*New high definition textures for all the Telvanni Houses.

*New high definition textures for store banners. (working on)

*New high definition textures for some flora.

*New high definition textures for House Redoran Architecture.

Im still working!

Hi walrus, glad to see someone else around here Wink Well I have that mod on my game but ... first: The mod only replaces the Mages Guild and Fighters Guild banners Second: I like the ones from Morrowind, and I think that will add more variety to the game!

When I finish all the cities Im going to open photoshop and start working in a new set of banners, including the ones for the Dummer Temple and some of the Imperial flags, still I need someone to help me out with the meshes, they dont work fine ex. if you get close thay start to go crazy (like those meshes bugs from the first version of Oblivion) floating around the place under the floor, things like that, it only happens when you are close. That needs to be fixed and I dont have the knowlodge to use NifSkope, so ... I can do all the textures I want but the meshes still working wrong.

Now that I have the time, here are some of the in-game screenshots of the things Im working on and the things that I've done:

Buckmoth Legion Fort

This are screenshots of the newly decorated Buckmoth Legion Fort, several changes has been made, start with the new entrance, new road, new lightpost, wood barricades, a guardian dog, horse stable, a Tiber Septim statue and many other things, little changes that adds a new flavor to the fort, it was empty and ... well that fort is just directly in front of Dagoth Ur, it doesnt sound very realistic.

So now it does look like a fort and dont forget the Imperials are threatened not only by Dagoth Ur and the Sixth House, also there's a Daedric Ruin close by so .... here are some screenies of the new and believable Buckmoth Legion Fort (still working on)

Azguard thanks for the positive feedback I do really apreciate that Smile Well, first off ... Im taking a break (its been about 5 days now) because theres a lot of work to be done and even I have a limit, this limit is called 3D yes, I still need someone who can handle 3D softwares to recreate at least some of the creatures from Morrowind. If we can have a working Sixth House and Gods, that will be great.

So I still doing my best and even giving more time and patience, but this needs more hands on it or else .. so Im asking for help.

aight, i will look into

aight, i will look into finding help for the project.

i dont have any 3d experience, the only thing i have ever done is script for Neverwinter nights.

as it goes there are a few people i know that may be able to do 3d work but none of them have worked with the oblivion toolset.

on the mod i downloaded i can only fight people ans Guars..... bleh... one hit lizards lol, have you considered just adding in simple tamariel monsters like goblins?, just to add body to the game.

Gods and Sixth house creatures

I've already made some sixth house meshes, here:

aight, got with my Dev buddys..... no dice they have to much going on.

and i can try to learn Oblivion Scripting... all i have worked on is basic NWN scripts, so no clue how well that knowledge will transfer over LOL.

Sorry, thats all the info I can provide you about scripts, also the "Beginner's Guide" in the CS Wiki is a great article and I belive it has some tips about scripts, why dont you try it out!? Smile

Hi kzanton, thanks but ... you don't have to wait, you can download Morroblivion right know and start playing Morrowind in Oblivions engine. Take a look here:

Follow the instructions and enjoy Morroblivion. But, my work is not "part" of the original MO nope ... you need to install the ESP converter first, but this Mod aims to give you a better MO experience, adding new HQ textures, new faces, clutter, etc... This is a work in progress and dont forget that Modding an entire world is not easy.

Great job man! It is awesome to see that someone is working on mods to keep morroblivion alive.... I've been there for a while, it is great to vizit the old cities, but the world was really a bit dead... mostly rats, guars and that sea monster that i can't remember right now... in the wilderness, and nothing but rumors from the npc...

not to metion the land bugs... like flooded dungeos, faction bugs that makes the most of bandits fight each other... among other things...

Its really amazing to see someone working on this awesome world that is morrowind. Hope to see a beta release soon, and a full release in the future...

are you planing to bring the old quests back too ?

Awesome Laughing out loud . Oh, if you bring back the old quests, do it as a separate mod, because I don't think that it really suits the concept. The quests from Morrowind, at least the main quest line, is already supposed to have been done by this point in time (according to the game).

Anyways, amazing job DavidWolf. It's good to hear that you're working so diligently Laughing out loud . I honestly can't wait to see the results. I want to mod Morroblivion, but I've been waiting for your mod to come out so I can just mod over an already improved Morrowind. I wanted to add quests and such, and if your mod makes most of the fixes and improves the AI and world in general... well that's just AWESOME.

i loved to see those hlaalu

i loved to see those hlaalu guards with their original shields. I guess those oblivion dwarven shield looks better than original hlaalu shields in morrowind.

What sort of sword did you equip them with? I think you should make them pretty decent swords. Ebony might be pushing it, but still could be cool to have some truly "kick your ass" guards in Morrowind. Tongue

Hi ZDawg, I don't know how to make weapons, Im not a 3d artist (didn't say that before?) so far the only things I can use are from the game stock, so the Hlaalu Guards are going to use Dwarven Shields and Longswords, if anyone wants to make a brand new Bonemold Tower Shield & Longsword, please do so and I will add them in the mod.

Well I can do a retexture, but again, I have zero experience with 3D softwares like Blender,3ds, etc... but you can check if someone remade the weapon for Morrowind, download the ESP and then convert everything with the remade sword included. Why don't you check the Darknut's weapons Smile

yeah but theres is no ebony broadsword in oblivion to do that. In oblivion u have short sword, long sword and greatsword but no broadsword. The broadsword looks better than the others.

Yeah... the flora is one of the things that really bothers me, also Im thinking on using the mushrooms from the oblivion stock and retexture them... we have to replace almost everything, with the time Bethesda will have no excuses to complain about copyright on Morroblivion xD since Im using modders resources and doing my own textures/meshes.

Great news, I just got permission from Darknut to use his meshes/textures!!! So, I will use some of those great weapons he created in the first realese of MOTF, also awaiting permission from Connary and Oriphier.

Thanks kzanton... I have no idea but I just finish Seyda Neen (almost) and Pelagiad, right now Im working in Balmora. Again, there's a lot of work to do, not only in the cities... the wilderness needs a makeover too, and dont forget the Dungeons xD ho boy...

But I feel great about MOTF, really good! So this proyect is going to be finished maybe in 2 months maybe in 4 dunno... I will keep updating this topic all the time, till everything is finished.

So, another update and now ITS TIME FOR AI PACKAGES!!! Yay!!! I just finish doing tutorials and here are some results:
