The leader of that snip fork (who is also working with me on TES5Edit) told me that they fixed compression bug, but still he doesn't recommend using it. Or at least be very careful.
Zilav if your a Tes5 editor, any chance of some of your peeps collaborating on (not talking about a new oblivion_sk) an Oblivion-version ESM/ESP to a Skyrim Version ESM/ESP automatic converter? It would make converting oblivon mods to skyrim much easier and allow for skyrim to have an even larger mod base. Or is this impossible or too difficult to do it anyway except by hand scripting?
If you feel that your tired of converting for now I wanted to say thank you for the conversion scripts. don't make sence to me but I am certain that they will to someone.
There are no "other peeps", unfortunately I'm the only dev, and has been for the whole short lifespan of TES5Edit.
The other guy (Daniel) asked original author (ElminsterAU) to open source the code for FNVEdit and helped in decoding of skyrim records. Wish there were more devs, but looks like Pascal is not popular among TES players. Other tools (nmm, bash, boss, skyproc) are written in C#/C++, Java or Python.
Actually pascal is more object oriented than C++. Being a higher level language, it lost competition to C++ because C++ was faster 10-20 years ago when it was important and its syntax is similar to C. And that means *nix systems.
Now the speed is not a concern, actually modern pascal is faster than c++.
I also prefer pascal because it is more human like language and readable, for example
They developed their own language that compiles to intermediate code and executes in a virtual machine. Like Java or .NET.
When you save a game in Skyrim, the whole VM stack is saved, that is why it is impossible to clean save from mods in Skyrim anymore. I'd say pretty awful system for a game where you are supposed to swap mods on the go.
So I don't recommend adding any scripts to Skywind until everything else is ready.
Not recommended for general use.
I think most people are too traumatized/scared to use it.

I used it to make an esp dependant only on the Oblivion_sk(well not that one but a personal esm I made for myself) that has skyrim assetes. :)
Ah, so your a TesV Edit dev. No wonder you are so good with scripts.
I thought people knew it.

Well, I do now.

Pascal is very much like C imo,but C++ is more object orientated,the syntax is almost the same too.
But what programing language is used with the script editor in the CK,is it a special just used by Beth with built in functions.?

for (i=0;i<10;i++) {} // C and C++
for i := 0 to 9 do begin end; // Pascal
You are correct,I like the Pascal version,it is like basic [nearly].
Basic would be:
For i = 0 to 9
i = i +1
Next i
[do begin end; //is cool.
there are visual versions for C++ now.
But what does the CK scripting editor use.?

So adding the quests that use a lot of scripts [they all do I guess],is not good until we have got everything else in place.?
The quests were done by digital paraniod & Machine before,and they worked albeit without the actual NPC`s,did we just get lucky with that.?
