Viremaster doesn't sound like patrick stewart in the slightest, and I find his voice not forced at all and has good quality. You found bacon933s voice on the page 20 good but this you thought sounded forced? I find that absurd.

Huh, didn't intend that to be on top of the new page but whatever.

Really? I totally hear a little Patrick in there especially in the first bit, just gave it another listen with my cyborg headset, sounded a bunch better, it's the last line that threw me off, to be more specific the endings of the words HERE and SPARE sound sort of cut off? Sort of like he's running out of breath or something, any of this make sense? Is it just me? Maybe I'm just going crazy lol!

p.s. thanks for the quality check cor, and ain't nothing wrong with taking the top of a new page lol

Anyways all this being said @viremaster the issue I had with your voice turned out to be pretty minor, and sure looks like you have cors support! Lol :D so if you are up for doing all of his lines then just let me know and I'll get you assigned, I still think you sound a little like Patrick I'm with happy on this one :p but that's good IMO matches the imperials well

Oh c'mon man, Viremaster sounds totally like Captain Jean-Luc Picard. This is a good thing, the man gets paid to do voices, because of his charismatic tone.

Hey everyone, I'm fairly new here but after a friend told me about Skywind needing voice actors I thought I'd pop by and see if I could help at all. I've done a little bit of voice acting before, nothing major but I have a fairly malleable voice that might be of use (or not!)

Are there any recommendations for me to have a go at, or should I just grab a few characters and upload some samples?

Just pick anyone and throw some samples up!

Without even knowing what you sound like, no way to make recommendations. Just pick some characters you think your voice will fit, record some samples and send 'em in.

I have just polished off the lines for Han-Ammu and attach links: https://app.box.com/s/kzliy44aykbmv384t4kk What do you guys think?

Excellent metaljoemac! Not only did the voice sound great but there was feeling there.

When is the 0.2 voice acting package for Skywind coming out?

I have a couple more npcs done, but a lot of the voiced people don't have thier quests done yet, but anyways I'll he finishing up a few more and putting out version 2 this weekend (sometime from tomorrow till Tuesday )

Just checking in, haven't fallen off the face of the Earth -- I recorded around 150-175 lines and they are taking quite a bit of time to hack apart because I just recorded in the studio for an hour straight instead of one at a time... gonna reconsider my method for the next batch... but I should have something in a few days! At least a whole character, if not two. Although I should consider making a blooper reel at this point because elle oh elle.

Sweet hopefully I can squeeze in one or two of your characters within the next few days!

I am willing to give it a try but to be honenst I am not sure who my voice would match, if any. Basically, I miss out the letter "T" in the middle and end of my words and "er" at the end of words kind of sounds like "ah"... Which character do you think I should try?

Basically anyone, just need yo hear your voice and we can make suggestions from there
Karma: 0 (0 votes)

Ok I have randomly picked Codus Collonus so you can hear my voice and see if it matches any of the characters. Since this is just a test I haven't done any of the compressors (never done those before) I just did the noise reduction.

voice sounds pretty good and entertaining lol, if you can just post a straight sound clip of you saying anything that would be great, i need to hear your voice without all the background noise of you playing with gross candy lol, make sure there is decent quality sound!!

Sure. I'm not at my studio now, but here's a short demo.

I can record some actual dialogue when I get back. But that should give you an idea.

Hello friends, my name is Joe and I hail from the windy city. I am an audio engineer aspiring to be a voice actor. Morrowind is still one of my favorite games to this day and I want to help any way I can. I can do voices and I know a few people who are in to doing voices too. It just looks like you've got quite a few voice actors already so I come here offering my services to mix the dialogue.  Because nothing is more amateur than having one character's voice way quieter or way louder than the other's.

Also, I do sound effects and music too.

Hey, I just found this (through Reddit), and this looks incredibly exciting! Loved Morrowind, and I'd be happy to help (which means VO, for me, because I'd be useless at anything else).

Anyway, I thought I'd put in an audition for Trebonius:

https://soundcloud.com/alex-karge

This was done with my computer's inbuilt mic, but I have access to better equipment, with a day or two's notice. If I'm not right for this guy, feel free to suggest someone more appropriate! I've done enough acting to get how auditions work.

Music is good! And frankly we need all the actors we can get lol so bring in everyone you know especially if they are female!

@sebastion sounds pretty good, im thinking some imperials for you

@akarge voice sounds pretty good, definitely use a better mic for actual recording, and maybe just a tad lower tone to make him sound a little older, good job all in all guys

Stij, I've already voiced Trebonius Artorius remember? You even have the files since 3 months.

Hey! A friend just directed me here! I'm not going to be home for a few days so I can't record or give any samples or anything like that right now. However, this sounds like an awesome project! As soon as I'm home I'll take a look at the materials in the thread.

So, do I just record the lines and post it here?

Yep. Record a few lines, upload the files to a filesharing site (or just to Soundcloud). Or if the role only has a few lines, record them all. Just so they can get a feel for whether the voice suits the role.

Hello everyone, I'm a literal newbie here, but I did want to preface by saying that I think that all the Skywind stuff is really awesome!

I played and loved Morrowind when I was younger and I'm now thoroughly addicted to Skyrim, as is evident by the 500+ hours I've played (according to Steam, and that number continues to grow). So to say that I'm excited is a rather large understatement.

I love acting (I did while I was in school at least) and voice acting seems like it'd be a lot of fun to me. Before I can commit fully however, I need to get a microphone*, and of course see if my voice is suitable for the acting. That being said, I'm definitely willing to give it a try though, even if I have to be a 'lurker' here for a while until I can get a proper mic.

Also, I probably need to mention:

"...we need all the actors we can get lol so bring in everyone you know especially if they are female!"   ~stijmunkey

Well, if my voice proves suitable (and microphone attainable), that wish is granted

*P.S: Does anyone know much about this particular microphone, the Blue "Snowball"?  (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Blue-Microphones---Microphone---Gloss-Black/9918056.p?id=1218194640453&skuId=9918056)     Is it worth the money, and is it's quality the calibre required for Skywind and voice acting in general? Or is there another less expensive, great quality microphone out there that I need to know about?

The one i use is the Blue Microphones Yeti. Far as i know they're both excellent, i know for a fact the Yeti is anyway. Up to you.

Hello,

I am new to this project and would really like to help out. Am currently recording female Khajiit Ahnassi. I would like this assignment if that is how this all works.

I'm planning on recording as many voices as possible if I turn out to be any good at them.

Thanks!

Hey guys!!

Sorry I've been away a few months, a whole heap load of stuff got thrown at me. I noticed a big post about the mod over on reddit earlier, and realised I hadn't stopped by in a long while!

Can anyone fill me in on the details of what I've missed? Namely, how are the altmer male and female voices coming? I can still get the female ones in (In fact I think I still have a bunch on my HD just unformatted).

Good to be back!

Edit:

Remembered this thread can move kinda slow, I just read everything. Going to try and package up those female altmer for you all. The new front page is Great!!! We have 20/20 on the male section, I see, whose ready to see the female section complete too? :D

Going to have a rummage, see what I've got, and pick up where I left off.

One small thing: Whats the status on the missing greetings in the spreadsheet? Are they filled in yet?

I use the snowball and it is a quality purchase for the price, though I would advise buying a pop filter with it, because it is vulnerable to the plosives.

Okay guys, figured out what I have on the system. Here is the (almost) complete package of Female Altmer quest lines:

http://www.mediafire.com/?6mai7sbz06f7kmn

You can update the front page to 12/14 complete - the other two I have to get my mother back to actually record, since one of those characters is like a bazillion generic alchemy lines to do.

I also have every single misc line recorded (all the ''ahhs, oohs, ouches and etc etc) but I need to edit them all together and stuff, so expect that tomorrow/the day after.

As ever! I would like to add that my aim here is to get a flat coverage of every line complete, once that baseline is established I'm more than happy to have other more talented people come in and do stuff over, should they wish to. My mother is providing a clear and distinct voice well suited to the altmer, but she's really not an actress and I think that really shows in the recordings.

As for MY lines, if I recall I have every single male quest line for male altmer complete already, every single misc line complete, and somewhere between 500-1000 shared lines complete too. I'll make more headway on the shared male stuff once female is done.

Thats a definitive yes ;)

http://www.mediafire.com/folder/q7v1pu5u913e7/Skywind_Auditions

Here is my folder of auditions. I have two random lines recorded. But I will put more in the folder when I have time to record all. I can do Bosmer, Altmer, Breton and Imperial. I might even be able to do some Nord/Orc if I put enough testosterone into it.

@barradin which 2 female altmer are the missing ones? Also digital just recently finished reorganizing all the dialogue and is now adding a bunch of missing stuff, once he is done all that and conditions are put in assigning the proper lines to the proper npcs in the ck we can create a new spreadsheet for skywind, but I fear that will still be a while away, to answer more specifically most of that shared stuff is in just not assigned to any proper npcs or races yet, so in that respect not much has changed it's still at record one line from each topic and we'll do our own assigning and I'll name them accordingly and get them in game!

Big Helende is one of the incomplete characters, though about 30% are done already and Esterdailin is the other, who we've done nothing for just yet!

As for the missing stuff, good point - Shared lines is all we'll really have left soon anyway so I guess the 'damage' would be done at this point. I'm sure it'll be fine to go back when the new spreadsheet comes up, but the sooner the better!!!

Alright thanks I will get everyone assigned properly soon!

I hope you don't mind dropbox links. I picked a few characters to have a go at, and I'll try a few more tomorrow, but hopefully this gives an idea of what my voice is like and what characters fit it. And yes, I realise my Nord voice isn't the best!

Anyway, hope these samples are okay!
