Thanks you guys, I'm really excited to be part of this project!

I think that since a good number of the remaining cast for the main quest are female Dunmer, I'll work on those. For now I think I'll start with Savile Imayn, if she's still available.

Thanks again!

Thought i'd do a Nord this time. I didn't sound much different, but hey. :P

stij: Yeah, I had to listen to it on my phone, away from my computer to tell, but yeah, I hear it too.  Noise removal will take care of that.  Good catch, would never have known otherwise.  I had done noise removal before, but the editing must have brought it back from the plains of obliviion.

PS. Anyone know of any plugins for audacity that would get the right sort of voice modulation to create the gravely voice effect?  Also acceptable: how to create it without plugins or the capability to go gravely without turning into Batman voice.
Tried messing around with everything there, but there are too many sliders using terms I don't know.

Ravanna mentioned a program that could do that, can't remember what it was, I'll ask him

voice is good but for the nords do you think you can do the accent

What accent is it?

Lols Nordic I dunno? Umm just watch some skyrim videos on YouTube the an idea of what it sounds like, also open updated. @gravehiest your officially assigned!

Well keep in mind, some of the Nords in Skyrim don't have that nordic accent anyway :P. Farkas, Idolaf Battle-born, the assistant for that torturer in Helgen, etc..

I'll see what i can do, but accents aren't really a strong point for me. I don't exactly have a wide vocal range for this stuff yet :P.

Ya it's not a huge deal, as far as I'm concerned accent is a bonus, but just give her a try! Worst case scenario we all get to hear you sound silly :p and we'll just get you do do it with no accent

Hear me sound silly you say? Don't tempt me, i'll friggin pull out my Ahnuld impersonation :D.

Ok, so i just want to get this straight. The ones that say completed in green in the original post, they are the characters that are fully voiced in the game?

Yes. Completed or at least assigned, it says which.

Nah they are just the ones I have all the lines for, until very recently I had to wait to add certain lines with certain topics ect. But now that digital is done everything, reorganizing all the dialogue that is, I can add everything, but that is still a very slow process for skywind, I have to go through everyone's lines make sure they are in the proper format to generate the lips, make sure there is no background noise or mouse clicks or anything in the files, find the corresponding line in the ck (which means listen to every line one by one) open it up check that the dialogue is correct, check what the files are supposed to be named and rename them one at a time, then when I'm done all that i have to place them all correctly generate the lips for them then convert them all to fuz files and remove all the no longer needed files and then I'm done. So depending on how many lines a certain character has this can and usually does take a few hours for each person. So Ya not all done yet but now that I don't have to worry about waiting for their quests to be done first I can add anyone so updates will be coming more often, but be patient some of the characters have a ridiculous amount of lines and could take me all day just to finish one! That is until my man digital figures out all the conditions and we are able to make a proper spreadsheet for skywind with all the skywind names, then a character should take like maybe 10-15 minutes to complete

Here's one of the previous recordings with the pitch raised. Will this work?

http://audiour.com/playlist/roao1ni1

That sounds much better, too short of sample to judge the raspiness level but the pitch sounds good!

I thought I would try and do a voice so I tryed out Galos Mathendis

http://www.mediafire.com/?reqi08oh21cpm6n

I think its decent.

What do you think.

Yeah, i tried doing the accent properly, really can't pull it off that well. Not to me, anyway. Probably just have to do it without the accent :P.

Also, how's my ones for Surus Velvus and Ormvard?

Well, with that american accent, you could do orcs and redguards, the voice itself is very good :)

Well i have done two Orcs already :P.

then you can voice some redguards :P can you record a sample of a khajiit voice?

OK, here's two of the voices..

Rasha

@donAllister:

The khajiit was good, so i would recommend you to voice them, but i suspect you have a bad mic, since the quality of the recording was kinda bad.

I use the iPod, and the sample is pre-processing. Cleaning it up is a whole process. I've had some success with it. I've done a few Khajiit voices, though Rasha is an Argonian.

i think you could do both argonian and khajiit voices :)

if you can get the quality better, you can pick and choose npc`s that are available :)

Perhaps I do need to get a better mic, but here is my Khajiit, it's Ahnassi, a female.

http://www.artforthemasses.us/Morroblivion/Ahnassi1.mp3
http://www.artforthemasses.us/Morroblivion/Ahnassi2.mp3

Some mild tweaks to the sound to make it more female.

It's the skills a bored kid picks up, making funny voices and doing impersonations. laugh

and thanks, like I said in my first post, it's a cool project and I'm happy to help, going to have to look into affordable, decent mics.

lol voice is actually not that bad, quality isnt too good though, also i wouldnt want to distract you from making all those cool wespons! :p

Well I had no intention of doing a large character just a small one. I wouldn't do something that would distract me. I pretty much looked for the first open npc and did a sample.

lol good i like your weapons, try a few bretons, there might be some small roles there, if you can get some good quality lines recorded, i wouldnt mind giving you a small role

I'll put a breton sample up in a bit.

Hey all, just saying hi. I stumbled on this from reddit and was like YES I WANT TO PARTICIPATE. I have a ton of friends who are interested in doing some voice acting samples. I read the first few large posts for guidance and will be recording some demos soon. It seems that female character voices are the ones most needed, correct?

That is correct

Hello stijmunkey!

It would appear that you are the ringleader of this voiceover operation so I just wanted to reach out to you and see if there was anything I could do to assist with the Skywind project!

I am a Composer and Audio Engineer who is very proficient with all types of music and sound effects creation along with dialog editing and processing and have worked on several games in the past.

This project obviously has an enormous amount of sound effects and dialog required and since everyone is recording their own dialog, mastering and organizing everything will definitely be a huge ordeal. If you need any editing or processing/mastering on any of this dialog, please let me know!

Also, if you need new music or sound effects I would be happy to create those for you! I used to work at The Detroit Chop Shop, one of the world's biggest producers of sound effects libraries, and so I already have a library of literally hundred's of thousand's of sounds to draw from to make new stuff for Skywind.

As soon as I found out about this project I immediately wanted to jump on board as I am a huge Elder Scrolls fan! If there is literally anything need in terms of dialog, sound effects, or music, please contact me at: AdamGrabowskiMusic@gmail.com!

@eloth,

My mic may be the best I can do right now (work has been slow, priorities), I didn't think it sounded that bad. Maybe if I did the lines in the shower I'd get slightly better results. Do you still want me to do some voices?
