Request for ENB users

Submitted by DIYDeath on

I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses ENB and loves every last bit of it-except the super dark nights and dungeons...not that dark is bad, dark is great but when...say a torch gives off so little light that it wont illuminate 3 feet in front of the character it gets a little irritating.

What I'm requesting is make light sources that can be carried by the player or in specific locations have their light reach further. I do not request that there is more bloom because bloom+enb=potentially overpoweringly bright. Not all of us use ENB so could it be possible to include this concept as a option that can be accessed through the menu?

P.S. just tested out CoT, Deadly Dragons and so forth in Skywind, they function perfectly.

I've had heavy, heavy rain storms in Skywind with lightning mods doing their thing while I was fighting a Dragon with 4 followers and the game handled it perfectly...except for the occasional time when the Dragon would dip into the sea or clip into the ground (the sea part was bloody cool, the ground made me lol). In fact I'll make a thread stating known compatible mods at this time (at least from my testing).

So... you want... a torch? Basically you want skywind to be more compatible with enb's. couple things first.

1. By menu I take it you mean mcm menu. Programming a mcm menu to control lighting is probably impossible and I don't think anyone would take the time to do it.

2. bloom =/= brightness. bloom is a glow effect in skyrim [External image]look at the redoran guard armor, see a tad bit of glow. The less saturation you have the less bloom you should use.

3. we'll never be able to make skywind compatible with every enb.

P.s. Why are you testing dragons in Morrowind anyway. That's like joining the stormcloaks. Then using console commands to kill Ulfric and telling bethesda that doing that causes bugs. no dragon will ever be compatible with skywind. If I were you, I wouldn't try to bring skyrim mods over to skywind.

1) A mcm menu, a spell, there's multiple ways to skin this cat.

2) I never once said bloom=brightness, I specifically said not bloom for this exact reason.

3) Most ENBs make the game darker, compatibility has nothing to do with it. Just extend how far the light reaches on a torch, its that simple and could be enabled through a menu of some kind as a player preference.

4) Who said I was testing dragons in Morrowind? They happened to show up with a mod I have running because they're scripted events in which the "assault" takes place. Not bringing skyrim mods over to skywind is asking for major issues. People are going to do it so its best to test the popular mods for compatibility...or do you suggest a vanilla experience is for everyone?

I'm getting a distinct attitude vibe from your post. I hope I'm wrong and am just reading too much into this.

4) We certainly don't want to restrict people to play without any Skyrim mod, however we will not really be able to provide support or patches for those mods (except for personal initiative) in Skywind... So basically expect the same compatibility of your mods as with any other that add new worldspaces.

However, I would really like to see a sticky thread about known compatibility of the most popular mods :)

WOW dude, u mad bro? I didn't have an attitude.

1.)Imo skywinds days are far to bright and night are... well fine to me, I like darker nights.  If your gonna go through all the trouble of installing an enb why not just put in a mod to fix the darkness.

2.) You never said bloom = brightness, but that idea was conveyed by your post.

3.)I think I saw a mod for that on the nexus. Here ya go:

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/32156/?

4.) I never used that dragon mod so I was thinking that you used console commands to break the game . anyway it's not our problem to worry about compatible mods. We'll never make every mod compatible, and other people should know when to take certain mods off.

5.) I don't really see how my post conveyed anger torward you, but if it did I'm sorry. We cool bro?

I think it's a great idea to have a list of mods and they're compatability with skywind. Would be extremely helpful to those people who like uses uber modded versions of the game.

SupremeEpicnessWOW dude, u mad bro? I didn't have an attitude.

Please don't use troll euphemisms...they make me think all you're up to is fishing for adverse emotional reactions behind a thinly veiled attempt to be civil but given the context of the rest of your post I know this isn't true.

2.) You never said bloom = brightness, but that idea was conveyed by your post.

Don't assume, I say exactly what I mean. If you have questions, ask.

3.)I think I saw a mod for that on the nexus. Here ya go:

That's pretty much what I was looking for, thanks.

4.) I never used that dragon mod so I was thinking that you used console commands to break the game . anyway it's not our problem to worry about compatible mods. We'll never make every mod compatible, and other people should know when to take certain mods off.

Ahhh I see where you're coming from. xD Yeah, no. I'm not trying to break the game, just to see if the popular mods are compatible because people will use skyrim mods in skywind and since skywind is such a gigantic project of pure modding epicness its safe to assume most people will run Skywind with mods.

5.) I don't really see how my post conveyed anger toward you, but if it did I'm sorry. We cool bro?

Of course, its just different communication types. Now that I know yours, I know that what I'm normally offended by, I shouldn't be when talking to you. :)

I have around 130 different mods which have been cleared as "compatible" and to be honest, they're the best mods which could potentially have issues in Skywind. I'll make a list later today and post it.
