Whenever I try to start a new character, it starts me on the boat in morrowind and everything is yellow. After I talk to jiub, I then fall straight down forever. I installed all of the downloads of order as it appears on the list on http://morroblivion.com/forums/morroblivion/mods/753 all the way down to Morroblivion v060 Complete Resources.

I had that problem before. I fixed it by setting the load order that Morrowind_ob.esp loads before all of its additional mods.
I'm still having this problem
I'm still having this problem too, but then again I have no idea what i'm doing with this new version. I just copyed and pasted the files as was with the last version. Am I wrong? Nothing even shows up for me on my OBMM except the 2 games and 2 expansions.

Extract the Master ( Morroblivion_V060_Complete.7z ) file to any where then cut and Paste (Morrowind_ob - Meshes,Sounds,Textures Morrowind_ob.esp,,Video Directory,,Ini Diorectory,,DistantLOD Directory ) into Your Oblivion\Data Directory,, Then Work out What Mods you want to Run that are In the Morroblivion_V060_Complete.7z.
If you want anymore Mods to Run Download the and do the Same,,,.
Unless you are Useing Weye i think you only have to put the .7z file where Weye will Read it then Activate what ever files you want to run after Mounting .7z File.

honestly, I have no idea what half of what you said means. I've never downloaded and implemented something like this and I am pretty much running through blind throwing files in random places trying to get this to work. I'm still having the problem and i'll probably just get a friend to do it for me Since there is no step by step guide as far as I can see.

I'm getting the same Mundus has shifted, yellow WTF IM A MISSING.... textures everywhere, and I'm never given an option to pick VVardenfell or Cyrodiil etc.

What instructions? The only instructions I can find are clearly labeled as now obsolete. The same bit of info suggests the installer is self contained, as if were all automated, which would be awesome but is apparently not the case. It sounds like I and several others could really use some step by step instructions here. I don't have the frame of reference to understand half the terminology in use here, a helping hand would be great.
In an effort to try and helpful: I'm using Oblivion GOTY Deluxe, OBSE says it is incompatible with this version of the game, do I have any options?
KVorte - the version 0.60
KVorte - the version 0.60 installation instructions are here: http://morroblivion.com/forums/morroblivion/mods/753. But believe me, I know how confusing things can be for someone new to modding Oblivion, so please let us know if you have more questions after looking through those instructions - though I'm still having some crash issues when playing the game myself, so I may not be the best person to ask. ;)
Yeah, see no frame of
Yeah, see no frame of reference here. I am a die hard TES fan who has never played through Morrowind because I can't stomach the awful graphics and the combat system is a joke. I was counting on this as an opportunity to finally experience the Land and the Lore, so I repurchased both games for PC. It wasn't expensive but would suck if it was wasted.
1. How do I get OBSE to work. It tells me I have an incompatible version of Oblivion (GOTY Deluxe) Am I just screwed? Do I need an older/different version?
2. Morroblivion v060 Master-file Installer is pretty straight forward, but what does one actually do with the contents of Morroblivion v060 Complete Resources? I keep seeing load order and activating stuff, doesn't mean anything to me.
3. I feel like theres some additional pieces I haven't grabbed. What the transport MOD that was mentioned, is that not part of the complete installation that was mentioned?
I would love to be able to download a complete working package. All three pieces already meshed together. Failing that, I'm hoping someone can help a brother out. I don't want to get nutty with any other ancillary mods (graphics and what not), I'd like a pretty Kosher Morroblivion experience, but I can't get it to work.
1) OK, not sure about that
1) OK, not sure about that OBSE problem, but installation should be simple; here are the instructions from the version 20 (latest) readme:
OBSE install instructions
IF YOU PURCHASED A RETAIL (NON-STEAM) VERSION OF OBLIVION:
1. Copy obse_1_2_416.dll, obse_editor_1_2.dll, and obse_loader.exe to your Oblivion directory. This is usually in your Program Files folder, and should contain files called "Oblivion.exe" and "OblivionLauncher.exe".
2. Run oblivion by running obse_loader.exe from the Oblivion directory.
If you use a desktop shortcut to launch Oblivion normally, just update the shortcut to point to obse_loader.exe instead of oblivion.exe.
IF YOU ARE USING THE STEAM VERSION OF OBLIVION:
1. Copy obse_1_2_416.dll, obse_editor_1_2.dll, and obse_steam_loader.dll to your Oblivion directory. This is usually "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\common\oblivion".
2. Ensure you have enabled the Steam community in-game, or OBSE will fail to load. Go to Steam > Settings > In-Game and check the box marked "Enable Steam Community In-Game".
3. Launch Oblivion via Steam or by running Oblivion.exe. OBSE will automatically be run along with Oblivion when launched. To disable this, rename or move obse_steam_loader.dll. You do not need to use obse_loader.exe unless you are running the editor.
2) and 3) For these, you'll need to get a bit familiar with two free Oblivion modding utilities: BOSS (Better Oblivion Sorting Software) and Wrye Bash (which helps install and "order" - i.e. arrange so things that shouldn't overwrite each other don't - your required Morroblivion mods).
Get Wrye Bash here: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/22368/?. A full Wrye Bash guide (which has more info than you'll really need) is here: http://wryemusings.com/Wrye%20Bash.html.
Get BOSS here: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/20516/?.
Basically, you'll first need to install Morrowind (with Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions and the latest official patches), then Oblivion (with Shivering Isles expansion and the latest official 1.2.0416 patch, as well as the Oblivion "unofficial patch" linked on the forum Morroblivion install thread). Then, you'll need to install OBSE (really just copy the appropriate files to your Oblivion folders) per my above instructions, and also install the Elys Silent Voice plugin (similar to OBSE installation - again, see the link on the Morroblivion install thread).
Now you're ready to actually link Morrowind and Oblivion using this crazy thing called Morroblivion. AFTER you've completed all steps in the above paragraph (and tested vanilla Oblivion to make sure it's working OK - if you're not using a Steam version of Oblivion, make sure whenever you run Oblivion to use the obse loader shortcut per my above copied OBSE install instructions, and not the Oblivion.exe!), you'll now need to run the "Morroblivion v060 Master-file Installer" from the Morroblivion install thread, inputting your Morrowind and Oblivion install folders so the installer can link the two games up. Next, you'll need to install the 2-gig "Morroblivion v060 Complete Resources" files from the Morroblivion install thread into the appropriate places in your Oblivion game folders. This can get a bit tricky, but if you take the time to read the docs, you should be OK. One rule of thumb is that main mod files ending in extension ".esp" must ALWAYS be located in your Oblivion\Data\ directory, and not in any other subfolder or other location.
Finally, you should open Wrye Bash and run BOSS (linked to Wrye Bash, assuming you installed both Wrye Bash and BOSS separately per my above instructions - there's a little BOSS icon on the bottom of the Wrye Bash "Mods" tab you'll need to click). BOSS will then take you to an HTML page showing how it's ordered your mods - i.e. your mod "load order". You can now close that page and go back to the Wrye Bash screen, which should show your new mod "load order" (BTW, make sure you right-click on "File" in the Wrye Bash "Mods" tab and choose "sort by load order").
Now, you're almost ready to run, but based on my recent experience, I strongly recommend getting a couple additional programs to enhance game stability first: Streamline and especially Oblivion Stutter Remover. There's more information elsewhere on the forums (some recent stuff involving me, who you'll find out is still pretty clueless, included) on how to install and setup the ".ini" (settings) files for these programs, which is very important. But you'll thank me in the long run, because without these, you'll probably have more game crashes. Finally, there are also some tweaks to the main "oblivion.ini" file that you may want to consider, but be VERY careful with these, and ALWAYS back up your oblivion.ini before making any changes from the original - again, more info on this in the forums.
OK, I hope this ridiculous wall of text has started you in the right direction. Frankly, I agree that there could be a much more comprehensive set of install and usage instructions on the forums, but I don't have the time or the knowledge to provide them, and the devs are too busy making a really awesome game for free, so we get by as we can. Anyway, good luck, and let us know how things come along!
Kvorte have you the steam
Kvorte have you the steam version of oblivion? You should use the obse v20 or the improved v21b4(that is really stable, and also fix some vanilla related bugs on some function like removeitems etc, etc).
If you have the stem version you should watch if you have an "obse_loader_steam.dll" or something like this.
If you have not a steam version of oblivion, this means that or obse_loader cannot read your file correctly, that you have an older version(maybe even the SI beta patch, you damned fearless), or that you have another digital deliver version that are incompatible with obse becouse they are encrypted(and give a full pack of problem and instability that original game hasn't), or you changed oblivion.exe(maybe cracked?)(the 4Gb patch do not enter in this category becouse obse is programmed to handle it,it's only a flag in the file header(LAA))
But however to my memory(at least until v59),obse was only needed to levitation script(however some mod depend upon it(like the creeper mod or the blight disease system mod, and I cannot promise that the bloodmoon quests will also not require it,when they are completed).
How would I go about changing
How would I go about changing the load order? Would I just move the files up/down in the oblivion folder?
Change Load Order you can Use
Change Load Order you can Use OBMM to Change Load Order even with Weye..
OBSE i s is Still Needed as far as i know to Run ( ELY _ Silent Voice ) Files they are an OBSE Plugin
For Steam Under ( FAQ ) for Installing for Instructions. There is any OBSE Version for Steam Installation.
misterstollo - I'd recommend
misterstollo - I'd recommend you always run BOSS (click the icon within Wrye Bash) first to set the initial load order whenever adding new mods. Then, if you'd like to change the order set by BOSS manually, you can left-click and drag the mods up and down within the Wrye Bash "Mods" tab. General recommendations for load order (i.e. which mods need to go after/below which other mods) can be found in the Morroblivion version 0.60 install forum topic. Just remember that if you're using Wrye Bash's "bashed patch" feature, the bashed patch should generally be at the very end/bottom of your order.

Ok super helpful post Mike, really appreciate it. Got OBSE working. No change in the overall outcome though. I tested everything at every step and its all stable until I activate the Morrwind_ob.esp. The step I've quoted above, are whats really killing me though. "Take the time to read the docs" I've read all the docs in the 7z, none describe where to put the specific files. Frankly I need more information on this step, I'm pretty sure this is where everything falls apart.
Edit: I feel I should mention I am not getting any kind of menu asking if I want to start in Cyrodiil or VVardenfall. However with the Morrowind_OB activated I do seem to be starting morrowind, Juib is there and tried to talk to me but almost all the textures are big yellow WTF symbols and I fall through the floor. There is an error message I can't really read before it changes. First it says something about the morrowind.ini, and than it says Mundus has shifted and I fall, over and over.
Basically it means that the
Basically it means that the meshed/textures aren't installed correctly. Make sure to put the Morroblivion v60 Complete Pack in your date folder(if installing manually) or the installer tab (if installing using Wyre Bash). make sure to unpack the things inside the archive before installing with wyre bash or manually.
wyrebash doesn't give any
wyrebash doesn't give any indication it recognizes the file in question. I uncompressed the file and put the content in the oblivion/date folder. This had no effect.
Right, that part is pretty
Right, that part is pretty tricky, and I admit the available instructions aren't too helpful. So let's take a look at the Morroblivion v060 Complete Resources file. Basically, there are going to be many individual ".esp"/".bsa" files scattered within the file, as well as several folders containing a variety of other file types. I arranged everything like this (sorry if you find some differences in how the contents of the file linked in the version 0.60 installation thread are actually arranged, but I'd rather not re-download the 2-gig file and double-check unless I need to):
FOLDERS
-Distant LOD
-Ini
-meshes
-music
-sound
-Textures
-video
FILES (NOT LOCATED IN ABOVE FOLDERS)
-Morroblivion_Chargen_And_Transport_Mod_v10.esp
-Morrowind_ob - Conversation.bsa
-Morrowind_ob - Conversation.esp
-Morrowind_ob - Meshes.bsa
-Morrowind_ob - MorroblivionTreeReplacer.esp
-Morrowind_ob - Sounds.bsa
-Morrowind_ob - Textures.bsa
-Morrowind_ob - UCWUS.esp
-Morrowind_ob - Unique Grass.esp
-Morrowind_ob.esp
*Note that I intentionally didn't include the Morroblivion Map .esp in this list, because I'm using the alternate "MorroblivionNewMap" mod instead for my in-game map - see also my load order below. But if you're not using this other mod, you will need the Morroblivion Map file included in the version 0.60 resources package.
Then, what I'd strongly recommend doing (to make uninstalling these files a LOT easier in case you need to do another Morroblivion version update later on) is packing all those files into an .rar/.zip file, keeping the structure shown above - i.e. the seven folders with all their subfolders and contained files, and the 10 (or 11, if you're using the default included Morroblivion Map file) separate .bsa/.esp files along with them. Once you've made this .rar/.zip file, copy it into your Wrye Bash "Bash Installers" folder on your hard drive (which for me is in the "Oblivion Mods" folder - which isn't actually in the main "Oblivion" game folder, but is in the base directory of my hard drive). Finally, open the Wrye Bash "Installers" tab, find the .rar/.zip file you just made and copied in the list, right-click it, and choose "Install". What that will do - after a few minutes, considering the file size - is load all the packed folders and files in the .rar/.zip into your Oblivion\Data\ folder. So why didn't you just copy them there directly without using Wrye Bash? I'll tell you: if you ever need to uninstall this package, instead of going through every Oblivion\Data\ folder and file contained in this mod and manually deleting them, you can use the Wrye Bash "Uninstall" feature (in the same right-click menu as "Install") to cleanly remove them from Oblivion\Data\ with one click. Then, you won't need to worry about stray leftover files that can screw up your game after you thought you had uninstalled everything manually. For this reason, I recommend you use the Wrye Bash "Install" feature for all your mods - all you need to do is first arrange the mod folders/files into a new .rar/.zip file with the "base" directory within the file being equivalent to the Oblivion\Data\ directory (remember that all .esm, .esp, and .bsa files need to be in Oblivion\Data\, and not any other folder or subfolder), and repeat the instructions above.
As I mentioned earlier, you'll also want to use the Wrye Bash "Mods" tab in conjunction with "BOSS" to set your mod "load order" whenever installing new mods. As a starting point, here's a load order that seems to be working for me. I started from the BOSS setting, then manually dragged a few mods around in the Wrye Bash list to keep the Morroblivion mods together (except for the alternate MorroblivionNewMap mod I'm using from another source, which I've found needs to be at the bottom of the load order) - I'm not sure whether that's necessary, but again, it's working so far. (Note that the Morroblivion "Clothing Galore" and "Silt Striders" mods are optional, and can be found here on the forum. The other mods toward the bottom of my list are also optional, but I find they make the UI and in-game map waaaaay better. I also strongly recommend Darnified UI, which doesn't appear in the load order since it doesn't have an .esm or .esp - check it out on the Oblivion Nexus modding site for more info.)

Hi i receive a error Morroblivion ini file is missing from data all settings set to default so how can i fix this and when i install the hd map mod it does appear in the data file of the game itself but when using OBMM it isn't in the list
cheers
All you have to do is Check
All you have to do is Check Oblivion\Data|Ini Directory to Make shore it Copied in Correctly ( Morroblivion.ini\MorroblivionLevation.ini ) If they are there Game Should Read Them. Dont Remember OBMM Reading .ini files,, If you have Problems Download and Install ArchiveInvaladion, and Under OBMM\Utilities\ Run Update ArchiveInvaladition
