Here's some cleaner samples, thoughts on quality? If you need it cleaner, I'll need to borrow my brother's setup before I record the actual files.

P.S. need to rig up a pop filter too, i think.

I really hope I'm not too late. But I'm finally getting a new mic in about a week or so. I'll also send new voice samples since I've been practicing a lot recently. :)

hmmm.. your voice sounds quite normal and young. Try to really go for it! and do all the voices you can do! then we can get a better idea of what you are suited for.

Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psxYIQDCIKw This will show you how to increase the quality of your recording! Good luck!

There seems to be a lot of voice actors coming in now.. i recommend that you record a sample (if you have already, link it) and get assigned for a voice now. In a weeks time, most voices will be taken.

Whatever mic you have now, use it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psxYIQDCIKw This will help you get the most out of it!

good luck!

I had posted voice samples a few months ago, but I was told the quality wasn't good enough... :/

I'll try to send new ones with the old mic and see.

Alright, I made a recording of a new Ashlander (without so much background noise).  https://soundcloud.com/smitehammer/shabinbael

I've also added an attempt at a Khajiit to my Soundcloud.  https://soundcloud.com/smitehammer/drozhirr

If Divayth Fyr is still available I would love to have a crack at him - or any members of Telvanni.  If you know of any Dunmer bards or poets, I'd like to try singing in that voice - or doing a throat-singing dirge.

I think you do Khajiit really well.

2 things though. 1, I would like a download so that i can play around with the sound and 2, You have very sharp 'S' sounds. It pierces the ears.. Audacity does not have a de esser unfortunately.. so a make shift pop filter might do the trick. If you have a soft speaker grill that is detachable that might work. Or stretching a piece of dense fabric in front of the microphone.

Good luck!

First try at Dilborn & Calvus Horatius. Let me know what you think.

If you think my voice could be used for other characters, I'd be willing to give it a shot as well. Pretty new at voice acting, but as a comedian, I do a lot of imitations etc. So I have some voice flexibility.

Well done! You voice could go well with some imperials, and with a little tweaking redguards aswell

Great! I'd like to go ahead and record the lines of Calvus Horatius. Also, I'm interested in Audenian Valius,  Arius Rulician and Aunius Autrus. And perhaps I'll throw a one-liner in there, Boss Crito.

These are all Imperial, If you'd like me to try another race, let me know, always willing to try something else.

P.S.
Decided to try the voice of every race, let me know if you think I'm a good fit for something else.

Seeing as male Khajiit is all taken ('Twas my specialty :( )

I'll try these:  https://soundcloud.com/djd2010/sets/teehee

It has samples for male Orc, male Argonian and female Khajiit. :)

I think you should do some more argonian. All you are missing is a mic that picks up bass better (microphones in laptop/headsets are often tailored to mid range to make the average human voice stick out over other sounds that might be around).

Honestly, you hit the imperial nail on the head so well that i'd say stick with it!

Hmm, I'll be seeing that mic then.

And aren't all Khajiit NPCs assigned and done already?

Also, I'll be trying some more voice samples for other races later on.

Yep, i did further work on that sample. Turns out i Exported the first one with the volume low on the channel, so theres a second one on the cloud which has increased volume, layers and slight reverb.
https://soundcloud.com/yoozee-1/anhaedrataunt3

If this is the kind of sound you'd like for Daedra, i can jump straight into it (no JOB) and set up the full vocal booth for higher quality recording.

Should i start working on some more?

Just assign me to the unassigned Khajiit (Wadarkhu, Dro'Tasarr, Joshur and Ri'Zaadha), i'll get them done ASAP. And yeah, I can do those Altmer voicetype stuff - is there a list of all the lines for that?

Yes i will provide you with everything you need for the VoiceType when i get home from work.

Is there a specific place to find combat voice? I wasn't sure if that would even be on the spread sheet.

Yes we can pick your best voice and assign you to that race, then i will get you set up with everything you need for the voicetype lines

What's the plan on idle voices, combat barks, etc...? It's great to have the stuff digitalparanoid in game, but it feels disjointed when there are 2 obviously different voices from one character. Are we going to have a few sets of idle VO to match, or...?

Also...this line:

"Vegetable products of commercial value on Vvardenfell include the following: ash yam, bittergreen petals, black anther, black lichen, bloat, chokeweed, comberry, corkbulb root, fire fern, gold kanet, green lichen, hackle-lo leaf, heather, kresh fiber, marshmerrow, moon sugar, muck, red lichen, resin, roobrush, saltrice, scathecraw, stoneflower petals, trama root, wickwheat, and willow anther." -Tendris Vedran (Dark Elf, M)

Just the best...so inspiring ;)

Ri'zaadha, Khajiit

Ra'Zahr, Khajiit

Fjol, Nord

Just a few samples, could do more!

You can hear when a scandinavian takes on a nord :P awesome!

Haha yeah I'm Swedish, my normal accent is not that Scandinavian but I tried to add a little bit of the typical Scandinavian sounds, the distinct Vs and the "sing-songy" kinda sound :P I tried not to go too far though.

Are there any characters I could do? :)

For the voicetypes we will try and closely match the majority sound for each race, for example all the male altmer are done by the same guy so we are getting someone similar to do the voicetype, another reason why all the dunmer need to sound similar with that original rasp, we will do the same with all the other races try and get someone who can do the most generic voice for said race that is closest to the majority of our actors for the race, alas that is the best we can do with the dialogue system skyrim has

Ah ok. So really I should try to keep my voice exactly the same for all the dunmer? Or at least close enough to the pack, so to speak. Could we shoot for like 2 main voicetypes, similar to how their are basically 2 different Nord Male Guard types...

Sounds great! Im at work so i can only listen on my phone, so i cant really judge the quality, but going by the other responses we should be good to go. Just scan through some nords from the first post a pick a few you are interested in then i can assign you

That is possible, but would require an INSANE amount of extra work, and not just for me but for ck people like digital paranoid it would be a lot of work and we would have choose who would be in the second voicetype and change them all over to said voicetype, likely by hand, then set up all kinds of new conditions and such for the dialogue, so ya possible but simply not worth it with skyrims dialogue restrictions and it would set the project way back, also that is an insane amount of lines to re-record, we would not only have to do the voicetype lines (attacks and such) but the second voicetype would lose all the misc and shared lines so we would have to do all of those twice aswell, which is a stupid number of lines

Okay seems like i can't do Paur. Are there any.. Younger, possibly, Breton characters anyone knows of i could try? Biggest problem is i cant find any good other Breton characters to compare to. :s

I'd be able to do characters that require a deep, or husky tone. I can also do monotone or adenoidal voices as well, if it pleases you, you can select the characters that you'd wish for me to audition for.

I hope you can forgive my inability to read, but I didn't see where in the first few posts it said how to format my uploaded files in terms of title. I saw some other people using SoundCloud and I figured I'd jump on the bandwagon.

What else do I need to do aside from simply saying, "I'd like to voice X, Y, and Z" to get approval?

Here's just a test reading of Raxle Berne, then, without background cancelling or anything: https://soundcloud.com/eccentricowl/raxle-berne-kill-her-for-me

The best you can do is record some samples so that everyone can get a good listen. Then we can see where you fit best. It isn't all about voice, it is a bout acting too! So choose a couple of different races and give us your best shot! Use my guide to get the best quality you can out of your microphone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psxYIQDCIKw

First of all.. double post.

Second, The sound quality is superb! Good job!

Third, and here is the kicker.... you need to get into your role more. "Kill her for me" .. Where is the life? The thing about humans is that when they talk about death, then there is a lot of life in their voice.. Good acting is really getting into the role. This character is telling the player to kill someone.. and you know he would be damn sure to make sure the player gets it! .. I don't know the character, but he seems a little evil... try and put an evil spin on it without sounding too cheesy. :)

I just acquired a good mic set-up, but voices are going fast so I was hoping I could be assigned some of the following characters before they're all gone:

Baro Egnatius, Joncis Dalomax, Shargam gro-Shagdulg, Wind-In-His-Hair, Shenk, Velfred the Outlaw, Elbert Nermarc, Uncle Sweetshare, Sason, and Ingmar. I'll upload samples onto SoundCloud.

All the Best :^)
