That's how I do it, and I use open office. The filter tab does work in open office, as well, if you don't want to scroll through everything. 

This is myuserismyname's input, edited by me. It has lots of stuff going on in the background so i couldn't exactly clean it up that much. I need a clip of just speaking, nothing else.

Sorry to keep clogging the forum, just trying to help my editor wizard do his editory wizardry!

Not exactly happy with this.. The "S" sounds are a little off... meh.. nevermind. I did what i could with audacity.

Have you tried using normalizer on the clip so the "S" sound isn't so high and raspy? I've found that it helps a bit. Also, the P's are still a little poppy, were you using a pop filter?

Hey, I recorded a few lines from Theldyn Virith. I would love to voice any character, so if it doesn't fit it really doesn't matter. Any opinion would be great to hear. 

Holy damn it Christmas - Duke Vedam Dren has a lot of lines.  Here it is.  Kudos to anyone who listens through the whole thing.  Definitely room to improve some of the lines, which I'll do before splitting it all up - it was just a test of endurance to get through them all.

Just calling dibs - I want to try King Helseth next!  And of course, Hentus Yansurnummu.

While trying to record i found different ways to speak, and i think i can do better, and i should have a filter lying somewhere, so some of the noises should be gone.

Lines for editing Vedam Dren

Finished all the lines for Calvus Horatius, here are the .wav and .mp3 files zipped up and ready to go. 

One thing though, there's a line in there that obviously uses some kind of variables, since I don't know the variables, I couldn't record the line completely. 

Here's the line I'm referencing:

"Our contract is for 30 days, starting %contractCalvusMonth / %contractCalvusDay. You have %Contract_Calvus_Days_Left days left in the contract."

If somebody lets me know what the variables are, I'll record those.

My other lines should be finished tomorrow. 

P.S.
If there's a need to record some other characters, I can jump on that as well. As I said before, I'm willing to try other Imperials, Redguard or Nords. I work from home throughout the week, so I can get things done reasonably fast. Let me know.

Sounded pretty good.  One note, though - Hlaalu is two syllables.  It was said out loud in Skyrim when talking to some NPCs from the disgraced house.

Finished lines for Falx Carius and Ra'Gruzgob.  Uploaded to gigaflare's skydrive.  I will redo lines if need be.  (I hope I didn't accidentally double post this)

Okay, I made some recordings with rather deep voices, those are all complete characters.

Let me know if you like them, if there are other voices/races that need to be done I can try them as well :)

Also, what are the standards on Argonian voices in Skywind? Because Argonians sound completely different in Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.

Heya, because they are relatively so few I've just done all the lines for Big Head (and the one for Chuna) as a quick audition for Argonians. I'm aware the S's are sharper than average on Big Head's but that is due to me attempting a guttural slithering s sound with my mouth; if it's too distracting or the accent isn't right or...ya' know, anything else, let me know what to change up. I will be putting in more auditions soon for you guys including much needed Dunmer.

(Big head is more Oblivion-era Argonians, Chuna is  more Skyrimy - not sure if you guys have a set accent or not).
