in other news, there is noise in your sound clip.. lots of it. If you haven't already, refer to the audacity tutorials in the first post of this thread. If you have and you did it all correctly.. then you are probably beyond repair and should consider a new microphone before continuing any further.

As you said the quality needs work, the deepness of the voice is ok but needs a tad more emotion to it it was a bit monotone imo, but Langotriel if very picky with his Nords lol I would wait for his opinion

anyway.. it was a lot better but it really sounds like it is read by a computer. If you roll your Rs more and squeeze some life into your voice, it could actually work quite nicely :)

We need voice actors. This the Skywind forum section. if you look on the left, there are 2 different forum sections.. Skywind and morroblivion. you commented in the skywind section :)

But yeah.. we need Dunmer, imperials and nords for the most part (that i know off the top of my head). If you feel up to it, upload an audition clip for us to hear. There are some audio tutorials on the first post of this thread that will show you how to get the most out of your microphone :)

You will need Audacity and then you will need to get the LAME MP3 Encoder for Audacity. just google it. Install audacity first and then get the lame mp3 encoder.

Plug your mic in and you should be ready to go!

well "a lot better" than something that was originally pretty crappy is well...at least something right lol?

anyways im going to try and practice getting some emotion into my voice acting and adding a tad of pitch variance cause it does sound a bit monotone ..... ill update with a few more voice samples whenever make some decent progress or so

and yes im from guyana, southamerica actually which makes this weird scottish like accent even harder seeing that my native tongue sounds most like a jamaican accent...

I have done Rasha. I tried to get some variety between my different Argonian voices, so I ended up making him really, really, well... Maybe you can figure it out if you compare him to my last two Argonians. :P

Also, the filenames that the spreadsheet gave me are a little off, I think. The three voice lines for when Rasha talks about Telvanni bug musk have the same filename (fbmwMQ11z_1TelvanniSbugSmusk_00320B75_1). That can't be right, can it? I changed the last number so that they end in 1, 2, and 3 respectively, but I'm not quite sure what to do. What are the real file names? :S

I have voice acted a few bits of the "Daric Bielle" character. The rest of it will be completed if you choose me to voice act said character, or you can direct me to any other character. I have plenty of vocal range so don't be afraid to ask

The voice is pretty good, but the accent is a bit... Middle Eastern?  There's no reason to roll your Rs for these guys, and the inflection of your voice in general makes you sound a bit like a chain smoking khajiit.  Pick a character from the list with a few lines that hasn't been done yet and have another try.  Others could speak on the quality.  On my phone everything sounds good, heh.

I'm not sure how Nords are supposed to sound, but I don't think you're speaking clearly enough. If I recall, Erich is somewhat of a drunkard, but your pronunciation is too slurred to be intelligible (I had to look up his lines to see that you said "mead is evil.") Maybe make him a loud obnoxious sort of drunk, instead of a slow, slurred kind.

Sorry if i am missing something but, I don't see any clips here of your voice so it is hard for me to know where you would fit in :P upload a sample or link me to something you have previously done? 

BTW: if i have already listened and replied to said clip, sorry.. there are so many new people that it is hard to keep track of.

First of all.. I feel you would be suited best for an imperial.. You have a deepish voice so try that. I don't feel the voice really fits a bosmer. 

Second.. the quality is lacking. It sounds a little messy. It is hard to put my finger on what exactly needs to change but it might be an unclean noise sample you have used to remove the noise. It might just be a bad microphone. Mind giving me the details of your setup?

Well I use a turtle beach earforce px22 for headset/mic, and for program i use audicity, and thanks for the replies I kind of agree with the imperial voice so i will look into to  someone I'm suited for and if you know someone I should just let me know, and let me know if anything I should change. I look forward in hearing from you again thank you.

You got the voice down. Like smitehammer said, no need to roll Rs but other than that, good work! (seeing as you are capable of rolling Rs, try out for nords as well if you want)

There is noise in the background that needs to be dealt with as well as pop sounds and such. An overall cleaner sound would be appreciated.

Woah.. slow down a little. Your words sound a little rushed and therefore quite unclear. The player needs to be able to understand what you are saying so try to make that your number 1 priority! No matter how good the quality or voice is, if it isn't clear, we can't use it.

Other than that.. i think it would do fine for a first draft... maybe. I mean another thing is that your deep voice sounds a little un natural.. it is hard to explain but it seems a little empty.. It lacks real depth. I don't know.. just work on it and i am sure you can impress! :)

Good news and bad news and then some more bad news.

Good news is that i think the quality is probably fine. The bad news is, the voice is hard to understand sometimes as you pronunciation of certain words seem undefined. I assume it is because you are not a native english speaker. The second bit of bad news is that i don't feel like it is the voice of a Dunmer. There is no real rasp in your voice :/

I appreciate the amount of work you have done but I simply have to maintain a certain standard. It is hard to tell you how to improve but at least you now know what can be improved so if you think you can do it, give it another shot!

I remember that i tried to listen but for some reason, it doesn't actually work in VLC. I heard nothing and assumed it was broken. sorry for the lack of reply.. i now tried it in another player and it worked so let's get started here!

So! ..Although I could understand what you said, it is unclear in some areas. It has been mentioned that you could try going for a different kind of drunk and i think that would be a good idea ;) a clumsy/loud drunk might work better. I know nothing of the character personally but i guess others aren't wrong when they say he is a bit of a drunkard.

Once you get that down, you need to learn to roll your Rs. A thing we are going for in skywind is Nords who roll their Rs. Why? because i say so, that's why :P no but seriously, i am Norwegian and so my opinion carries a little weight and bethesda did nords wrong in their games. They portrayed them as arnold schwarzenegger with a barbaric voice.. Only 1 woman nord voice was done right in skyrim so we are showing them how it is done :)

Lastly, the sound was a little weird. There is this constant weird bump sound when you speak.. i don't know.. but whatever it is, it has to go. If you can find out the source of the sound and then get rid of it, that would be great!

You have your work cut out for you :P get to it!

try Merthierry Laelippe the breton. He is a Breton that i am assigned to but if you can do a good job, he is yours. Remember to really get in to the role. He is a breton farmer! Bretons are a mix of English/french/slight german.. that kind of thing. Stick to the english as it seems that you are quite capable of it.

Although the sound quality is not perfect, i can hear that it won't be that hard to clean up the noise etc.. But i am not sure if your voice will fit the remaining roles. can you roll your Rs and sound a little monotone with a deep voice? cause then you can do nord. Sadly, i am not sure that you will be able to manipulate your voice in a way that will fill the remaining roles. 

I am not in a position to really give advice on how to do Argonians.. haven't got a feel for what we are going for yet so i will have to leave that for now...

See what you can do anyway... it would be a shame to give a straight up no.

You have used the good female nord voice from skyrim as reference, eh? sounds like it anyway. I think it is spot on. Awesome job! make sure that you speak clearly and you get rid of the noise and you'll be golden!

ahh.. a headset. Are you able to get ahold of a condenser microphone? headset microphones are infamous for their sound quality.. Not sure if it will be up to scratch.
