@ Cor Angars- Not all Dunmer are the same, and I'm not trying to sound exactly like Jeff Baker. I like to add a certain uniqueness to my voice. I can do a simple raspy voice, but it just sounds like I'm whispering and have a cold/too "human". And when it comes to Eno Hlaalu, didn't know that. But you never know what might happen ( : Oh and I do use my upper throat.

For balls sake lol! I just assumed he was not taken yet that my bad morrowindshorts, I should have checked first, all of the availiable roles should be in the first post just check there to see any other dunmer you can do, as for eno he is assigned to Gir Ray, who I have not heard from, so he will be one of the people I go through and double check if they have completed anything and if not contact him to see if he is still active, so there is a slight chance that role may free up, but until then check the first post and pick some unassigned dunmer to work on in the meantime

I'm ready to upload my finished Khajiit lines, just wondering if there is a specific bitrate the mp3s should be in?

Here is some audio I created for Salas Valor, the Missing Hand. Notice how he slowly gets angered by the player asking questions. I think this is the Majority of his lines. I know there's more when you start The Missing Hand quest. This is a picture of the NPC. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:TR-npc-Salas_Valor.jpg

well... 128 kb/s minimum.

yes bit rate needs to at least provide a minimum quality, any lower than that usually kills the quality of the audio file

Just updated the OP, I will run through Gigaflare's Drive and make sure I didnt miss anyone tomorrow, if you notice you are missing from a role that you have been approved for by Me, Gigaflare, or Langotriel or if you have completed a role but are still marked as assigned just let me know here or via PM thanks!

Sorry, am I nuts for converting my wav files to MP3 if you guys convert them back to wav anyway? Or have my MP3 files been ok? LOL

Yeah, I was told to keep them in the form of MP3s.

we will eventually use both wav for skywind mp3 for morroblivion

Hello. I was curious how do we submit the voice files? I wasn't entirely sure.

Wav takes up tons of space. We save time by converting ourselves i imagine. Wav files are huge!

I took out some of the excessive characterisation in the voice like Langotriel suggested, and went through all of Aesliip's lines. Are these files OK? Need me to go back into some/all of them?

I think the accent is fine, but this guy isn't just some Nord.  He's basically a lich - he's turned himself into a draugr to extend his 'life'.  You remember how the draugr sound in Skyrim?  Even in Bloodmoon?  You're an undead - your voice should sound forced - like a talking corpse.  You might want to incorporate labored 'breathing', dry raspy wheeze, slow and deliberate use of words.

Niiiiiiiice :D really getting that old-school dunmer vibe there, skyrim ain't got nothing on this!

These are my Khajiit lines. For Wadarkhu, the line starting "But we're judged by your actions..." had the same filename as the previous one, so I added '_1' to the end of it. If you need me to redo any of them, just let me know.

Also, I am able to do the Altmer voicetypes if you'd still like me to.

This was my previous sample, want me to go even further?

I don't want to push it too far into a Dunmer voice.

Hi guys, so I wanted to have a go at voice acting for the game, below is my attempt at  the dark elf Anes Hlaren , Nightblade, J'Saddha lines ( 73 to 75).

https://soundcloud.com/usedforbattle/anes-hlaren-dark-elf-lines-1

Please let me know what you think, I'm not sure if these lines have already been submitted already ( they were not colored on the voice acting spreadsheet).

Cheers!

PS - I apologies in advance if this post is in the wrong place!

I would be up for voicing some Nords.  Are lines from the Bloodmoon expansion being accepted yet?

Its a shame really, because Nord are my least favorite race (in all fantasy games) but the only race that I do well haha.

Hey everyone, this project really caught my eye and I thought I might try for a role here. I haven't done any voice acting before, so my acting doesn't really sound right sometimes and I might not catch myself when I screw up, but here's my quick audition in attempt for the role of Master Aryon for anything applicable: https://soundcloud.com/max-finzel/sample

I tried to make it sound similar to the higher-pitched Dunmer that you'd encounter in Skyrim, such as Revyn Sadri in Windhelm. I might also audition to replace any current male Khajiit or Altmer if any of the current submissions aren't quite up-to-par. Let me know how I did, and/or how I could improve besides the acting.

I was thinking about voicing Fast Eddie so I put together some samples. I also decided to give you all a taste of my other races. A funny attempt at a Khajiit, a Breton you all know and love, and a Telvanni Master with a different type of voice(Inspired by Teldryn Sero and Master Neloth). Now I do believe the voice of the Telvanni Master could go with another race. What do you think? https://soundcloud.com/morrowindshorts/fast-eddie-samples

For the sake of consistency, we're keeping the old raspy sound of the Dunmer from Morrowind (all members of a race will share the same battle cries and sounds).

Your voice might work for imperials, if you can't master the raspiness.  Just try some lines spoken with authority.

Karma: -1 (1 votes)

Alright, that's understandable. Just to clarify, do you want the gurgling type of sound that's in many of the other Dunmer entries or just a more dry-sounding voice?

Okay guys, here's a link to my first go at Blatta Hateria.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/1sxjtao2ceqsq1y/BlattaHateria.zip

For now, I did the light and sort of tranquil voice/characterization I used for her in my original demo sample of her lines, HOWEVER there's a bunch of other ways I could play her character (suspicious, defensive, boisterous, severe, peppy, you name it.) not to mention other things I can do with my voice (especially pitch-wise) if you want to hear something different.

Also, just a heads up, my agent is sending me out of town on a gig this weekend, so I'm probably gonna be incommunicado from saturday-monday. So, if you have any notes for me during that time either pm me so I see them on my phone, or I will see them as soon as I check the forum backlog when I get back tuesday.  Thanks!

Ah, a nice character.  Handle this person like you would handle a drug dealer, almost.  When you say you're just a fishing boat and you don't offer transport services, sound dismissive.  When you ask the player if they want to go "fishing" say it in such a way as you can hear the quotation marks.  Fishing is a euphamism.  What your character is actually doing is taking the player to a forbidden monastery that houses the dissident priests.  If she was discovered, or if the monastery were discovered, the Indorils would have a field day throwing them all under lock and key in the Moon Prison.  Say everything as a little tongue in cheek when you know the player is 'alright', because the player is in on the joke.  Before then, be more defensive/dismissive.

I wish i could do a mass answer for people but the weather has destroyed my connection and so it takes even longer than it already does to reply to everyone.. Smitehammer seems to know what is going on as far as voices are concerned so take heed to what he says.. especially with dunmer, orcs, imperials and such..

A technician won't be at my house before a few days.. so.. yeah, it'll be a little while before i can actually answer efficiently. If anyone has any questions about sound quality that are not covered in the videos on the first post of this thread, PM me and i will get to you when i can.

Edit: the internet disconnected for a few minutes while writing this message.. that should give you an idea of how it is.. every few minutes it disappears :(

looks like I'm not the only one with internet issues! well not to worry I'm crashing at my dads house tonight so as soon as he brings his laptop home from work I can go through and pm all the assigned roles we haven't heard from in a bit, then o can go through and answer as many recent submissions/questions as possible. Hopefully they figure out you internet soon Lango as someone who doesn't have any right now I know how much it sucks!

I like the sound of it! There's a whirry/squelchy sound in the background, which I think is background noise being reverbed?

@BlazeStorm Thanks, glad you like it! I don't really hear any background sound, but I was sure to clean it up as much as I could once I split the lines up into individual files. But I'm grateful you gave me that info, I will be sure to be a little more strict with my mic(Which is not the best btw). I also really like your samples dude! Your Nord is killer, and your Dunmer sounds elderly and strict. Keep it up with Aesliip, thats a tough one! Oh, and have you ever considered voicing a Khajiit? Do we have any idea of what Yagrum Bagarn is supposed to sound like? He's an interesting character who I'd like to try and voice but we have no precedent of what a Dwemer sounds like.

Oh boy.  Oh boy oh boy.  No.  No no no.  You do not want to know what a Dwemer sounds like.  The sound files were actually included in the game, but we're not used.  If you're feeling masochistic, feel free to go to YouTube and listen to Yagrum's voice files.

That being said, this guy IS important, and I think we should run as far away as possible from the official voice of Yagrum.  I'm thinking Russian or Turkish-sounding with maybe a few markers of his corprus disease might be fitting.  Do we have any Russians or Turks with a nice deep voice who could pull this off?

Hello all. I came by with an audition last Friday, got some good advice, and I've come back with auditions for 3 different characters, that according to the front post, have not yet been claimed.

Dulk

Lord Cluttermonkey

and Snorri

I hope one of these I did well enough, but If not, try try again.

Again, any and all feedback is appreciated, also, if you think I should try a different character that would better fit my tone of voice, please tell me I'm not really tied to any characters in particular.

Okaay, I'm trying to knock the first go's and next revisions of some of these out before I leave for the weekend, so here so far is Pania, Agrippina, and a new revision of Larienna.  Lemme know if any of these are closer to what you want. Coming soon is the next revision of Blatta, as well as Severia.  I've recorded Ahnassi already, but the girl has 165 lines so I'm not counting on having that all edited and exported out before I go.  None of the stuff I'm sending you has gone through the eq/normalization process yet, just noise removal.  The eq takes forever and I wanted to make sure I'm on the right path first before spending extra umpteen hours fighting the normalization battle.

Also, would anyone be up for giving me a hand with the pronunciation for Ruccia's lines? She has lists of names and places and last thing I want to do is fumble pronunciation (I'm already afraid of that every time I have just one or two names, much less like, 30. o_0)

Thanks!

You can use the forum's attachment feature; it's right under the text box when you're making a post. Be sure to compress the files somehow so the download doesn't take too long!

On another note, I am recording Vistha-Kai as I type this. I'm basically done, but I have to rename the files to their proper names before I send them over.
