Conjuration Spells require ridiculous degrees of mastery

Submitted by Stealthy on

It appears that all the summon spells in Morrowind are off. You need to have 50 in conjuration just to summon a ghost, and 75 to summon a scamp. In both the original Morrowind and Oblivion, you could make a character capable of summoning a scamp at level 1. By the time your conjuration skill is high enough to summon a Morrowind scamp, you might as well be summoning an atronach or something stronger.

Magic fixes have been attempted by at least five people... At this point, magic in Morroblivion is what it is.

Well, I have to agree with Stealthy. I played Morroblivion 2 years ego the last time. Were there any improvements made, since then ? Especially in the matter of conjuration spells ? Because it is useless to start in Morrowinf, if you can't even summon a ghost at level 1 (which was my favorite method, to absorb spells, playing under the atronach birth sign).

I looked in the master and found just about all spells are set to high values. Some of the 'Summon" Spells need to be set high because the creature summoned is a hi level creature. Others can be set to a lower level. Ancestor Ghost, Scamp, and Skeleton should be set to 'novice', Ithink.

I use the mod "Spell Failure Chance". You can cast all spells like in Morrowind, but their is a chance of failure. I recommend the german Version of this mod, because it change the chances. With the english Version you have a bad chance to cast all spells, even those, you good at. The german Version changes that. The mod contains the possibility of side effects if a spell failed. You can turn this function off by typing the following into the console:

set SpellFailureEffectChance to 0

That should be no problem, because the only text shown by this mod is the chance of failure and the info that a spell failed. And if you want to have the texts in english just take the texts from the english .esp and replace the text in the german .esp with them [External image]
