[MERGED] Morroblivion Icons

Submitted by Darth South on

I have designed every single icon to be made in Morroblivion.(There are some weapon and armor which are given to some NPC as default, but there is nothing I can do about them). I've also designed Quest and Faction Icons.

If you have problems with icons, just download Additional Support Files again. Icons are in them.

As this is my issue page, I think it's not wrong to brag a little bit. I've spent 4 active months gaining a lot of experince. I don't regret even a minute of it. I have designed exactly 936 icons. Remember, the exact total of items, quests and factions are far too greater. I used same icons in lot of times. Fo example there were only four icons for almost 100 keys or steel arrow icon on 10 different type of arrows. I just want this to be an example how sociapath determined we are for the new modders who wants join Morroblivion.

It is such a great feeling to be actually closing this issue.

Finally,

MORROBLIVION ROCKS!

It's not black and white, on or off, yes or no -- just take a break and come back to it in a month or two.

We really appreciate all of the work you've done on this project, and I hope in a few months you can come back to it with fresh eyes.  Until then, enjoy the turkish summer!

Today I've decided that I miss Oblivion and Morrowind too mcuh and should return to the project. At least I should finish what I've started. I had uninstalled everything, so I am installing everything from the beginning, I'll be back in bussiness in couple of days.

Your work was sorely missed! Your icons are beautiful and make a huge difference in the game. Thank you! Your icons will be eagerly anticipated!

Hell yeah Darth South! Welcome back good buddy!

Hey Dark South, when I first played morroblivion, I really liked how you did a different background color for the quest icons. It let me easily differentiate between morrowind and oblivion quests.

so ya, rock on.

Hey, would you be able to turn your icons into .ico files and make a windows icon package? That's off topic, but it would be sweet.

Cool, thanks. :D

Well, that might be kinda hard; because opening dds files(oblivion icon etc. extension) in photoshop spoils the picture. In order to do that I must search for another way, which If you want I can work on after I finish all the icons.

Ya, no rush. If you get done and want to try it that would be awsome.

If I get around to it I may try it through gimp. Gimp opens dds and can save as icon, but I don't know if it would ruin the pic, I'd have to look at it.

Thanks Dark South!

There seems to be a problem with my new icons. Can anybody affirm that my new icons are not transperent? For me it's white, yellow than the icon. If so I don't have to redesign all the icons but spend alittle bit more time on them.

The reason is that I formatted my computer in the break I did not work on the icons, when I installed my photoshop again, settings were set default, it looks like I couldn't set them right again.

EDIT: http://www.mediafire.com/?dd8k88df824ilff

You can fix it through this link

Hello, Today I finally announce that I have finished designing Misc Item Icons. It took some time(counting my 3 months break 3 :D ), but here they are. They will be included in v41.

Now it's the turn for clothings. It's going to be a little more tough. I have to work on how I should I make them. If I do it the normal way, by putting in into Construction Set screen and using print screen button, I'll take the pictures of folded(hope this is the right word, I  checked dictionary) clothes; but I tihnk we will all agree that open clothes will be more beutiful. I have to figure out a way. And any advices will be very appricieated

You're right on with the word. All of the Oblivion cloths ground objects are folded. And I agree, open would be more beautiful.

My thought would be to printscreen a picture of the mesh itself, possibly in nifskope, and then make the background transparant. I don't know if this would work though, just my idea.

ps. I took 4 years of spanish in high school, and I could *survive* in a spanish speaking country, but I have so much respect for people who can speak two languages, especially people who learn such a terrible language as english as their second language. (I can say that because I am an English Major). I have even more respect for people who do it as fluently as you Dark South. So kudos to you!

Haha thank you, and I am doing it through Niskope too. I've seen the pictures Hashmi took for his robes and I asked him how he did that. He said Nifskope.

Hello everyone, I have updated the issue. This will probably the one before the last one.

At April 9 2011, My first pack of icons was included in Morroblivion. If bothing surprising happens after 6 months at the beginning of October I will have finished the last part of icons. So every item, quest and faction in this mod will have an original high-def icon. I can't wait to turn the status of this issue to closed.

It is very exciting to actually be finishing such a long project. When I first found out how to add an icon to game I wasn't even sure it will eventually come down to this.

I have already started to think what my next assignment should be. There two things left in help requested page(colowebs and locked chests-doors). I can try to do one of them or move to something lot cooler. Loading Screens for Morroblivion. I will discuss this with David of course, but it would be nice to know what you actually think. Thank you very much.

Hell yeah, Darth South, you've stuck with your assigned project for a while. Great job, the icons are amazing, I really like the ones you made from scratch.

Actually I changed the status because it doesn't show up in the list when an issue is closed.
