ARMORS hub - Skywind

Submitted by Shadow on

We have already decided in the past that we would split up armors in much the same way as Morrowind.  But what models exactly will we be splitting up?  This thread is being created to get your opinions.

Mod Edit: Here is the new spreadsheet for Skywind armors.

Edit:  Okay, here is the first vote.

Why have less options?

I'm sorry, the message I wrote to the moment when I learned that the Dwemer did every armor for themselves.

Just messing around with a few textures I found, these are just the temps I'll use till new sexy ones are made :)

Beast Helmet WIP:

Dont purple plz!!! xDD

Hmm, mb can we remove the opportunity to wear this (and another close) helmet for argo?

or may have them reforge normal helmet to helmet for animals?

Again, why limit the players choices?

There's nothing that says a crafty smith/khajiit/argonian couldn't whip up a helmet for them? Does not compute...

Looks like it's the same helmet (just an open version),  I think argonians are clever enough to open it without having to reforge everything.

Very nice work on those models anyway, you should try with the vanilla bronze shiny cube map ;)

Will the armor and greaves be separated?

Dwemer cunning and private people. It is unlikely that they would make the helmet for the other races. So we need to make reforging :)

I think your missing the point of having armor "sets" but we'll move on.... thanks :) It depends on what people get settled on as far as splitting up the armors.

I think two helmet can be in one armour set)

There will be 2, well 3.. 1 unique helmet for each the male/female loser humans.. and 1 for the kick ass beast people lol

xD yeah 3

I'm telling Ya man, if possible cover the open face part with glass or something, so it's still "open" for the beasts but not exposed and still super big cover absolutely everything dwemer golem armour. Just my thoughts, since I obviously can't model like you guys I'm more than happy with whatever you provide and this armour is kick a$$ by the way, just throwing out some ideas!

Also female version looks great, nice to see it with new textures, can't wait till Marin works some magic! Also I don't mind purple, maybe not as vibrant, but like a dark royal purple could be good

Thanks, they came along way from the original I started with. When it's all said and done I think it might turn out to be my favorite! Sure I made it so I might be partial ;)  It's fun making stuff but I'm stuck for right now. I'm having a hard time getting it to work good in the game. I can get a lot of it to work with me but his arms with all the movement is being a real drag. I've tried for like 3 hours to get his damn arms/pauldrons to not separate when flailing around but no such luck. I'll get it I just have to wait till Alexb gets back to have him show me.

You are welcome sir! It tuned out WAY better than what I was expecting! So far it is my favourite but we'll have to se if that lasts lol ;) and don't worry alexanderb was pretty good at separating and getting armour to work I'm sure he can help

Yes, it looks like a rusty piece of shit scrap metal armor, so it's perfect! Nice job!

It's made it through a few hundred years in wet, active volcanic caves  so its seen better days yeah sure.. most of it should buff out.. It's still good to use :) when you wear it you can barely notice the rust that gets in your eyes so that's cool.. oh it's also super heavy and crazy hot inside.. pretty much all pluses in my book lol

Like the looks of #124 and #131-looks like the armor from morrowind-protected somewhat from the elements in the dwemer ruins.  The corroded version looks ok-like something found unearthed outside... possibly at the bottom of river or lake.  This is just my (one who has NO modelling or texturing abilities) opinion.  All in all love the work you all are doing!

What I didn't like in Skyrim is badass and clean look on some armors. Daedric is a complete joke. Your armor is perfect.

Agreed

Except needs some super Marin textures lol
Karma: 0 (0 votes)

Thanks! The texture I have on it is just one I found online and threw it in. It's actual pretty close to what I had in mind.

I want it to look super worn, burnt in some spots, rusting, chipped, peeling, rotting away and in some spots it's still semi ok so you get a feel of what it once was. Maybe have Marin do a beat to hell version using something like insanity dwarven weapon pack pallet.. I got it working in game a lot better now but still messing with getting his damn arm sockets to line up lol

You forgot elves, not just humans :D

Got it skinned a lot better now. But if you look abound his waist area you can see the codpiece belt part is showing and part of the leg is. Its not clipping it's just showing through. Same with the left shoulder you can see a little. It's like parts are slightly transparent maybe idk... Any one know how to fix?

That dwemer set is going to be awesome, I think I may be more excited about it than about the Guar! You and Marin make a sweet team! And as a fellow Khajiit, this one salutes your comment about beast superiority.

Looking really good!

Thank you my fellow Khajiit! Argonians also get love from Khar'lor.. argonian helmet almost finished(still clips a little in the nose):

That whole bonemold set in the pic is cool, the textures look good

What's up with the armour textures? Aren't dwemer things meant to be that bronzish, goldish kind of colour?

stijmunkeyI'm so torn, I want sexy guar but I also want Sexy dwemer armour! Hurry up with your magic Marin!

PATIENCE YOU MUST HAVE my young padawan :))

It is kind of depending on the light, but these are just temp textures anyway. But I do want it to look this beat up just higher res and better colors. I have pretty much the entire set ready, except I can't get the different sizes to morph right, so right now it's either skinny or big.. in this armor even skinny looks pretty big lol

yes they are...im working on new textures for this model...preview .....soon :DD..

im having some trouble with uv maps..

As my first official comment on anything here... I must say that Khar, lor and his armor set was initially underwhelming to me.
BUT, after seeing the retextures and the open Face pieces for the Beast races... I like it so much more now! I would and am in fact voting for your pieces here Khar, lor!
Much love and support.
Argonian, Kaleido.

Now my memory isn't perfect, but i do remember reading in an in game book or some dialog from an npc that the dwemer armor in morrowind wasn't actually armor at all, and was in fact parts to some sort of automaton that had been mistaken/re-purposed as armor.

You would be correct, Blue Sausage. It says so in "The Ruins of Kamel-Ze". The Dwemer did have armor made of similar materiels, but these had likely been long-since looted by the late Third Era.

Most of you must already know about this mod, but I want to draw some attention to it.  The chitin armor in particular is to die for, it looks so exotic!

Edit: just want to get some feedback before I update the spreadsheet with it

Yes I believe this was brought up before, if I recall correctly the consensus was they are all excellent for placeholders but I think most of the guys figured we could do better and make all our own unique armour, also I can't remember if we got permission to use these, I particularly like the glass set in this
Karma: 0 (0 votes)

Well, i'm working on a Gah-julan Bonemold helmet model which is a modified Dragonborn Bonemold helmet, can use it with the Dragonborn Bonemold armor.
