So, I was wondering if i convert a simple oblivion mod(just like highmap edits) to skyrim, and then use tesvEdit to set Oblivion_sk esm as a master will it work? Because I was thinking that I could convert this mod for personal use:

Just a question

I'm sure any mod would work. Just try sending it through the converter and see if you are able to get it to load ingame.
Okay so after I tryed it It almost worked untill I got an Error message saying:
ERROR IN FILE ::.\TESConvert.cpp
In line 662
EXP :: !CheckFormID(ID)
Does it stop on that error Supreme,or crash out of the converter,?,can you press "enter" and continue.?
EXP :: !CheckFormID(ID) is a FORM ID on something in the mod,can you load it into TES4Edit to find the form ID error,then try reconverting.?
Well it dosen't freeze if that's what you mean but after I press okay on the error message the program exits. I'll check it out in TES4Edit, but I can't see what the problem would be. The mod only edits the oblivion hightmap.
Anyway if i'm successful then I won't need borders on the cyrodiil world space. I be able to run all around tamriel without borders(I hope). This also might make it easier for me to recreate famous mod from Oblivion like unique landscapes and better cities. (maybe even some of those province mods...IF this works) but I might not be able to release some of these mod recreates (especially if I never can get version control to work on my personal mod esm.)
Edit; I have trouble finding the form id error in tes4edit (probably because the mod is so big, 150 mb). anyway the convertor stops when it says:
Current World: Tamriel Processed cells: 99916
Current World: Tamriel Processed cells: 0
Ummm! Processed cells: 99916 then Processed cells: 0,it looks like the converter just runs out of steam,or your system runs out of memory alloted to the converter,proberly because by not using borders the wrld space would be bigger than the converter can handle.?
But only guessing at this.
I was about to get a real gaming computer next month anyway so I'll try again then. In the mean time is there a way to change the hightmap from one to another without changing the placement of objects. I was intrested in this because the hight maps from that mod contains Vvardenfell as it appeared in the game morrowind, with it I might even be able to make skywind/ skyblivion in the same world space(might)
That is not an easy one to answer Supreme,but the quad and cell and I think the hieghtmaps are the same in oblivion and skyrim,but different in the original morrowind engine.
But that info might be way wrong,maybe someone else would know.?
If what I have stated is in fact the case though,then the hieghtmaps are already ok as morroblivion,skywind and the oblivsky projects should all be using the same hieghtmap hieght settings.?
But if objects are in mods made for the original morrowind then,yes,I guess they would need re-placing in the converted gameworld.
Yeah I can confirm what Ironman says, I once converted Oblivion with it no problem, and I'm sure Oblivion is way bigger than your file. I suppose if you host the file and pm me it, I can try converting it for you.
Heh, I get the same error as you. I guess something is wrong with the form id.
Is there anyway to find the error or somthing or am I better off just trying to recreate this mod from scrath.
Edit: I turned the tamriel hightmap into a 16 bit raw (1024/1024) so I can import it into the creation kit(with the import function in the world space edit tool.) but I'm not sure How to change the current tamriel hight map to match it. Or even how to make it it's own worldspace.
Well in a way your mod if you think about it, your mod is a lot like Morroblivion to Skywind. It had the same error as your mod, so maybe take a few examples from it.
