how about new models

if we modders start getting proficient with zbrush and other stuff, we could make top quality stuff. we've seen the cliff racer and someone had posted a pic of a silt strider they made before dragonborn came out that was better than the dragonborn one wo a doubt. theres only so much you can do with the old stuff.

Am I the only one who much

Am I the only one who much prefers the Dragonborn chitin armor? It fits in much more nicely with the rugged Morrowind spirit imo.

Wow, chitin armor is  much better than original Dragonborn!

I think the helmet should change to the more original design and that be it. I remember a redoran helm was it, that resembled a mushroom. The dragon born dlc chitin kind clumped all the old morrowind helmets together in some ways when it came to that. The color on the modded version is more accurate to the original morrowind. So altogether I say change the Dragon born color and helmet.

I also think it would be cool to have all the armors have a couple versions of each design. And have different versions of each. one that is darker another that is scared up- just a thought. It would make the individuality of the game more immersive. Each armor has a random spawn of a unique design, if you know what i mean.

also the Modded Chitin looks

also the Modded Chitin looks clumsy and bothersome with the longer sash hanging down. That sash is "Nordic" too. It looks more heavy armorish too and awkward. Those boots look funny like the Ebony ones in Skyrim when running in third person.

Agreed, just like the Fur Armor in Skyrim for example =)

I think the modded chitin

I think the modded chitin looks amazing. I personally wouldn't change anything except you could fiddle with the sash a bit. Maybe like the Morrowind chitin armor where its similar to a loincloth. Keep up the good work ;)

That sounds good at the very least for me. That is a good suggestion.  If it had the satchel utility belt as well and maybe the cone on the back of the helm and thinner boots it would look truest to the lore.

I respect modder's work. It's not something anyone can do. At the very least work on the sash and add sachels to the sides, and it will rival the Dragonborn version. Staying closests to the Dragonborn seems ideal. Having both would be pretty cool. For instance lighten up the texture for the Dragonborn to fit the original look and cycle the models in a spawning sequence like the fur armor in Skyrim.

To be honest I don't know

To be honest I don't know what the Scribs look like, but perhaps make it look similiar to them and or nixhounds or siltstriders. Also the Dragonborn armor for Chitin reminds me a little of Mudcrabs... Mudcrab armor?

See I really like the Dragonborn Chitin. I want it kept in the mod :)

Yeah! I found this picture while surfing the web. I especially like how the mask is pulled up, exposing his face. I would like to get some of your guys' opinions on it.

09 and morrowind fans are still going strong then I love it! Nice find my man! Theres a popular Skyrim mod where the helmet has a visor that goes down during combat. I wouldn't want that for the Boiled natch leather. I like the Bobba Fett bounty hunter feel that it gives. That's me you know. It would be cool to have a version that has a face exposed and goggles that can come dow somehow idk.

This was my favorite armor to wear. I had throwing knives and crossbows and rocked a tanto for fast close combat and later had a daedric Katana. I can't wait to ride a guar too with my character.

That style of belt and sash

That style of belt and sash is what i was referring to for the chitin armor. But anyway I really like this model. Maybe if there were two versions of the mask, one that's up and one that's down. Concerning the chitin, i think we should just separate the two, dargonborn could be heavy and the other one be medium. The dragonborn reminds me of the falmer armor from Skyrim which would have been made from chaurus chitin.

The last link is simply TR.

The last link is simply TR. There are currently no plans to convert it over to Skywind and I'm not going to bother converting it myself until the actual TR mod is done in about a decade or so.

It's pretty hard to compete

It's pretty hard to compete with the technical quality of Bethesda's armor.

In the end, noone is going to be let down with the final product. It's when they get to see the alternatives they are missing out on that they feel disappointment.

A niggling issue that I had

A niggling issue that I had with Morroblivion was the fact that the loss of the awesome Morrowind armors and clothing. It just wasn't the same without the glass armour and exquisite clothing with all the fancy patterns.

Bonemold Gah Julan armor

Bonemold Gah Julan armor converted from morroblivion.

Its miles away from the skyrim armor quality, but its a start.

I actually prefer simplicity

I actually prefer simplicity of armors from Morrowind over complexity in Skyrim. For example daedric armor in Skyrim is for clowns.

Looks great already.

I'm kind of bummed. I really

I'm kind of bummed. I really prefer the original chitin armor over Dragonborn's chitin armor. Is it possible we could have both or choose which one we want in the future?

I'm all for keeping the armors original. In the future, we could have mods for variations and updates for the people who want them. I do prefer Dragonborn's bonemold armor, though.

I have a question about Elven armors. Are we going to have them? It would make a lot of sense for us to have them in game, but would we use the original ones from Skyrim or what? I didn't really like the Elven armor in Oblivion, so I hope we keep Skyrim's, if we do indeed have Elven armor in it.

Elven armor would have to be

Elven armor would have to be pretty rare in Skywind. This is Morrowind after all, not Skyrim. Not just the location, but the game. Personally I'm all for enhancing the game with new content but it has to be done sparingly since, while it may technically be canonical, for whatever reason it didn't exist in Morrowind. If the people contributing to this project's development have one thing in common it is a passion to recreate Morrowind as faithfully as possible.

Could you use the chitin models from Vvardenfell Imports and remake them for Skywind armor slots?

Actually, I'm pretty sure

Actually, I'm pretty sure that chitin in Morrowind is Shalk, why else would the Ashlanders domesticate them? The lamination/curing process is what turns it white, I think.

Could be that anything that drops chitin makes chitin armor, this means potential for lots of variations, I always thought it was mudcrabs though.

There are lots of experience

There are lots of experience modders that put Morrowind armour into Skyrim with their own models and textures, for example Daedric armour: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17664/?

If we / I can get permission to use them, what do you think?

That armor is bad ass! but they arn't into letting us use it :( one of the only people contacted who had somewhat negative reaction. They said if Bethesda isn't down the mod then they won't support it. BUT if we could fins the person THEY got permission to convert from then we would be okay. But damn it sucks we cant use that daedric set LASentry :(

What I'd do: Download the mod

What I'd do: Download the mod and rename the files, ever so slightly change the colour of the textures. I learnt in art class that there is a difference between copying and stealing.

Hmm that is a possibility,

Hmm that is a possibility, sounds a tad shady though lol If we could find the original author and hit him up I think he may be talked into letting us use it. I just cant find him, I'm not to familiar with oblivion mods and I think thats what its from but idk.
