Truly amazing.... Shame I
Truly amazing.... Shame I cant run it, my video cards only 128 MB and 2.3 gigahertz processor! Windows Vista! Yeah its an old machine
Regarding graphic Card Limitations
I know the requirement is a 1 GB card... I was curious if anyone knows if a Macbook Pro with a dual Nividia GeForce 9400M and 9600M and would be fine to run this.
Macbook Pro for the
Macbook Pro for the win!
Anyways, sounds like your MBP is a few years old. I doubt it has enough vram. But hey, I might be wrong. What does it say under "about this Mac"?
Man, now that I think about it, the only Macbook Pros that could effectively run this mod would be the new 15" and 17" MBPs that came out yesterday.
Pretty Awesome
Mod looks awesome, waiting until you finish before I do a playthrough.
YOU SIR, ARE THAT SPECIAL!
Oh man
it is a 17" that I bought January '10. I don't know if the way the system works is if it uses both card simultaneously or uses the one needed. for the specs it says the 9400M has 256 MB and the 9600M has 512 MB for the VRAM. Which is funny because as a freelance graphic designer and hobbyist video editor I assumed being able to run Photoshop, Illustrator, and FinalCut at the same time I would be able to do almost anything haha. Well that sucks, I guess my next question would be if anyone knows if there is a way to upgrade the cards? I've built a few rigs in the past but experienced bad results when trying to upgrade Dells. I can't imagine Mac being more 'tinker' friendly. Thanks for the reply hopefully you'll have another gem or two for me.

Thanks for the info Eloth. My
Thanks for the info Eloth. My laptop makes use of shared cards (256 and 512 MB) pushing at max 768 MB. I hope it'll be suitable enough to allow for me to be able to fully appreciate your hard work first hand without sacrificing too much in gameplay. Either way, fantastic job!
Cheers!

Its a grat work! What its your secret? Maybe you have illusion in 100 and we dont know :O
I need to ask something, this is my Pc:
GTX470@1280mb VRAM
2GB RAM@800mhz
Intel Core 2 Duo@2.66gHz
I have the videocard, but my ram and my procesesor aren't so good, and dont want to have the bottleneck effect with the game if i put into the game the more higgest resolution textures, what did you recomend me to change my ram or my processor?
Sorry for my english.
@CRACK_2Generally, texture
Generally, texture replacements are almost entirely dependant on how good your graphics card and hard drive are. So I think this texture pack won't cause any problem for you.
As an example, my computer is the following:
- Pentium D 945 @ 3.4GHz
- 2GB DDR2 RAM @ 667MHz
- GeForce 9800 GTX with 512MB VRAM
Using the above, I see zero FPS difference between using vanilla textures and QTP3 Redimised.
Looks great to me. A little
Looks great to me. A little on the vibrant side for my tastes but it's your mod after all, and it's certainly better than 'vanilla'.
I've only just seen this, and already the suspense kills =D
This looks fanatastic...truly breathtaking. I recently aquired a new machine thanks to leftover college funds (it arrived yesterday in fact, made my day, lol) and I've been working on reinstalling all my games...luckily I believe (hope is probably the word) my new machine could run this with decent fps...AMD Phenom II X4 970-3.50 GHz and AMD Radeon HD 6850 with 4Gb DDR3 RAM...do you think it would be pretty stable with my setup?
I'll definately have to keep an eye on this project. I think I'll hold off on actually installing Morroblivion until this is finished. I look forward to a release good sir =)

That is great news eloth, I can't wait

You'll be fine. We should start a computer braggin thread hehe
THE ALPHA IS PUT TOGETHER! =D =D =D
@thermador: Lol, my new PC tower does indeed make me want to brag a little...but to be fair it's an upgrade from an old Wal-Mart computer...although I'm now broke thanks to it XD
@eloth: Sounds awesome =D I'll have to keep an eye on this thread then.

ME WANTEEEE
Gah! Do want! S)
Amazing!
Iv heard great things about morrowind's storyline, but unfortunately when I got around to playing it the combat system was too appauling for me since I am used to more advanced gaming mechanics. I then found morroblivion, which put a huge smile on my face. Although there is no voice acting from morrowind, I do not care. It is worth it just for the oblivion game mechanics, I am used to final fantasy 7 having no voice acting so I will make do with morroblivion.
Then I found this!
I must say, this is by far the biggest effort iv ever seen in any graphical modification project. The graphics look 3 years ahead of the original oblivion graphics, you are going to bring morrowind to life with this mod!
I am very eager to play it, though I worry about my spec. My cpu is more than enough to handle it (dual core 2.5ghz), and I have 2gb of ddr2 ram which does me fine on most games so that should be no problem either. I do have a 1Gb graphics card, but I am unsure if it will be good enough to run this smoothly since it struggles in most of my games when i turn even just 2x anti-aliasing on. My card is an XFX 1GB Radeon HD 4650, and it does support directx 10 graphics. I want to be able to play this mod at the highest setting, and I am willing to save up and upgrade my pc just for this mod. Could someone please let me know if my setup will be good enough, and if not recommend an upgrade that would not set me back too much?
Also is there an estimate for when this will be made public, so I know how long I have to save up for an upgrade if I need one. Thank you for taking the time to read, thanks in advance for any help given and thank you very much for bringing everyone this amazing graphical overhaul!
Aaaggghhhh!
The suspense is killing meeeee!
Can't wait to see this in
Can't wait to see this in action. It looks amazing! Although I am a little worried i may not be able to use it.... I know more about computers than most people. But unfortunately I'm no genius and I'm not even sure how to find out what kind of graphics card I use without looking at the box which i lost two years ago on the day i bought my computer......
If you right-click on the
If you right-click on the desktop, click on Properties then click on the Settings tab, it should tell you below the picture of the monitor in the format <monitor model> on <graphics card model>. After that, a quick search of Google or Wikipedia should give you the information you need.

How can you do that textures?? It's posible to do LOD textures with that quality?

Page 2 of this thread is seriously my homepage right now. if there's anything I can do to help get this up and running faster please let me know! I'll give Bethesda a real Nordic feel, I'll pillage and plunder their offices for 3d models and what have you!
Thank you! cannot wait
I just found this through Reddit last night and cannot wait to try it out. Thank you to all involved in making this happen!

When will this be released?
When will this be released? And what about the Bitter Coast trees? Did you use Smawp type trees? Like from the original?
i have made this overhaul
i have made this overhaul based on my own masterfile, which has all flora, trees etc replaced with oblivion or SI equivalents, but david will eventually try to use parts of my master and put them into his official master file(or make a flora/tree replacer plugin)
my overhaul project will have to be made into two versions:
a version which is based on davids current master(which uses morrowind flora, trees)
and a version which you have seen in the wip screenshots, which uses many oblivion/SI replacements.
that last mentioned version is basically done, i just have to package it and upload it.
Eloth's Visual Upgrade
Oh no =D
No No No No No No!!! Why I see this mod now??! Omg, how long I worked with original morrowind to look better.. so much mods, I did it about week! And now? I see that you already did it! Fck, now lets to play from beginning.. Btw, is it way to confirm my Morrowind savegame to Morroblivion? ;-)
Just use MW Sound and
Just use MW Sound and Graphics Overhaul if you care about graphics so much, it looks MUCH better than MorrOB(though with its own overhaul I can not say). There are other reasons to play MorrOB other than graphics though.
I Much prefer Bitter Coast trees and Mushroom trees to be similar to the MW ones, I am using MW Overhauled and I choose not to use Vurts stuff for the Bitter Coast because I wanted the original looking trees, so I use Vitality's(?).
I always like to maintain the look of the original game as much as possible, even after using the MW Overhauled I still over road some stuff by using Connarys texture packs, he does a great job keep things looking like the original but enhanced.
So I assume this will overhaul will be out soon? Will it be possible to simply delete the files for the trees inhabiting the Bitter Coast? Also I am confused is the version that will be released soon the one your decribing as "must have" and how is the install on it?
Thanks a bunch for the reply
Thanks a bunch for the reply Eloth, I look forward to your release!
WOW !!!
Oh My God!!!! Is this for real??? I tried the Morrowind 2011 overhaul and it looked great, but this is simply insane :)
I now worship the virtual ground you walk on, eloth! I may be a bit low-end right now to fully appreciate this (C2D 2.66 Ghz, 2GB ram, GF9600GT 512 MB ram), but I'm ready to allow for stutter if I can have this much beauty :^)
Eagerly waiting for the release. I even prepared the way and made a clean Oblivion install clone with mTES4 so I can install it the moment you release :^)

Thanks, I can't wait. We can finally update the gallery on this website and get rid of all those old screenshots from 3 years ago!
Release
That's great news! Really looking forward to it.
Texture replacers
Kia Ora
Is my thought wrong here?
I thought it would be a texture replacer as we know it and was just to copy over the textures in the default
directory, I'm thinking if the export file names are the same all the time then player could just copy over what
they want or what their machine can handle or is going to be an esm replacement or esp?
BTWif I save a file with DXT1 alpha on the _n normal map and DXT3 on the texture is that going to give less shine
than DXT3 on normal map and DXT1 on texture, I'm still trying to get the hang of this every time I rty to make something
ruff textured it come out shiny as
Hell yeah, can't wait! My
Hell yeah, can't wait! My Macbook Air is going to be stuttering like a mofo! ;)
You guys are great!
Anawsome job man,.. realy realy choice
Kia Ora
I love what I see man it's realy choice, as to Balmora my thought would be tone back
the bulding texture a little, leave the ground alone, ground is ruff stoney and look so choice
and see how it liike with slitely less ruff building texture maybe more stucco/plaster texture it
Might blend out the over bummpy look everybodies on about. I'd love your tutorial man it would
be neat to beable to make normals etc like your doing, the wiki's tut is a bit lite on details like numbers
to set the filter at etc
ka pia mate,. great job
Thank you Eloth
I just bought a Radeon HD 6790 1Gb, 4Gb RAM @1333MHz and a Phenom II X2 560 3.3 GHz just so I could run this smoothly. Thank you Eloth for bringing possibly my favorite game of all time back to life. I can't wait to get it!

Whelp, i've come to the conclusion that Eloth has passed away and this project will forever be stuck in morrolimbo (at least this is what it feels like!!!)

Awesome! But there are no tree improvements? Not even, just swapping out old Morrowind trees for Oblivion/Shivering Isles ones?

I know eloth has been working
I know eloth has been working on it, but it takes time to build the textures, and then integrate them into the mod.
Nobeus did convert Better Clothes for Oblivion, but I'm not sure how it will be integrated into the mod.
