Hmm, would you be okay with

Hmm, would you be okay with portruding the whole mask a bit forward, and making the ears bigger and more to the back - to give them more substance?

That way they'll look like strong, integral pieces of the whole mask.

would maybe a simpler sort of hood work better for this than the crazy mullet?
I'm sure it will turn out great in the end regardless

Damn sweet! The mullet does

Damn sweet! The mullet does look awkward though. Hm, maybe it would look better like in Drago's sketch, as a one piece cloth hood.

Liking it thus far, though

Liking it thus far, though one thing I will comment on is that I think the ears/horns/whatever-they-are should have that sort of backward tilt like in Dragomir's sketch.  Longer face pipes would also be pretty cool.  That's just me though.

I like every version and every suggestion. I think they all look cool. I also think that Shu should just make it in whatever way pleases him, since he's doing all the heavy lifting. If it comes out looking like any of these it will be a great addition to the mod. Rock on Shushine!

Wow, a lot has transcribed in

Wow, a lot has transcribed in this thread while I was gone! I really like Shushine's model as of "Small update". Props and kudos him to Dragomir! (and gosh, did I actually manage to contribute something useful to the discussion back then?)

Now I'm making my return with another (hopefully my last) suggestion on this thread. I apologize in advance if this is obvious and simply not included in the WIP. So, without futher ado, here's a mantis right after molting:

It can be clearly seen on the shed "skin" that the eyes are also covered in chitin. This is why Telvanni dust adepts make their helmets out of insect headpieces - that's by far the easiest way to get dust protection for the eyes! After all, going through so much trouble to get dust filters for breath but being unable to see because of the dust is not really the Telvanni way. They would not stop there :)

So I'd add transparent (read: black, nobody would notice the difference) curved surfaces in the eye "holes", as if it's a thin layer of chitin that used to cover the insect's eyes.

There's a fleck of light on the original model in the eye socket, suggesting presence of a curved reflective surface (see my earlier screenshots), so I'm pretty sure that was the original Morrowind design as well.

Oh, I totally forgot to

Oh, I totally forgot to mention that I dig the eye shapes. Combined with the "ear" posture they give the helm a ruthless, confident, menacing expression. Very Telvanni.

As for JorgenGorgen's concept, I'm not sure how it's supposed to be better than the current model. It's a cool helmet, but it doesn't look more true to the original model or fit the lore better or anything like that.

As for the eyeholes - Dunmer

As for the eyeholes - Dunmer are known for their goggles made of hardened, see-through resin, so we also have that option. If they're modelled in some interesting way in the eyehole they can give the mask a bit more depth, something interesting to look out for in the eye cavity. Let me explain graphically:

I think that could make it look pretty cool.

Not my concept.  I was quoting Discoccult, that concept is his.  And I much prefer Dragomir's, and That1Cactus' concepts.

Personally for the eyes I

Personally for the eyes I think it would give it a more menacing look if it had black cloth covering them, rather than resin or glass goggles.

Sorry, for the lack of

Sorry, for the lack of updates but I've been at my Grandmothers house redoing the whole piping/septic system for the place and having a working toilet for my grandmother takes priority over Skywind. But cleaning up fossilized and new shit hardly gives me the inspiration to do work on the computer anyways. If you ever done septic work you know what i'm talking about. My Grandmother is not a rich or healthy woman who has legs swollen up like balloons so right now i'm pretty much her primary care taker atm and all this sorta puts a damper on my free time while making me and the house smell like crap...If you need to contact me send me a message or email. Do not send me a chat message as I will probably miss it.

No. Telvanni in the vanilla

No. Telvanni in the vanilla game didn't even have its own bonemold. In Skywind it will have its own Bonemold with which the various helmets from vanilla will be worn.
