I'm glad my two voices are getting fairly good responses. After listening to Fargoth I'm not sure if the bass is too strong or not, I might redo his when I work on some other Bosmers. I've been busy with PBS lately but now I'm getting more free time and will be able to contribute more to this project again. Some of those lines for Cauis weren't in the spreadsheet (I think because it's considered one of those overall shared lines) but I'll go in and record everything I need to so he gets finished up. I really like the way Skywind is looking! I can't wait to hear more voices in there so it really comes to life.
Oh yeah and by the way I didn't even realize that Fargoth and Caius were voiced by the same person! I really thought it was two different people since I hadn't been following all the posts on this thread that closely. I only just realized now that I watched your voicing tutorial (which was great btw :) ) So good job!
Hey here is a tip about a good microphone that I received from a friend of mine who is into music.
CAD U37 USB Studio Condenser Recording Microphone
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AIQGUO/
No recording interface needed, because the microphone is USB, and plugs straight into your computer and then you can record yourself with audacity or whatever. Apparently because it is digital USB, it gives a lot cleaner sound than traditional mics that plug into your computer's line-in or microphone 1/8" ports.
Comes with a stand and 10 foot cable, only $43.33.
Thanks for the video Stijimunkey!
Cinjaxion, you do sound a heck of a lot better than the old recordings. (Funny to hear my buddy's voice from back in the day on Bacola, but I agree that the new stuff sounds MUCH better). :)
It's exciting to see all of this professional influence and so much quality progress!
Hey, could someone direct me to all the downloads for everything? I can make wav files and mp3 files easy but I don't seem to have everything for the lip files...
lol i would but i tried last night and had no luck i couldn't get it working, you just need oblivion script extender, and construction set Extender, both should be or at least have links on the nexus
so I Finnaly got my new mic and everything in and set up and got started on this project finally, sorry it took so long. I decided to do two of the Dremora Kratz and Hircine, anyway here are some clips of them. tell me if you like them. I'll get started on some other stuff tommorow.

we already have someone doing the regular dremora, but your Hircine was great ill gladly assign you to him if your up for it, and any other daedric prince you may be interested in, i have a feeling that you might be able to do a good ash creature aswell
I've alreaddy got most of him done. as far as ashe creatures the only one I can find is dagoth gares, and he appears to be done allreaddy. I could go online and look for the lines I guess. but wouldn't really know were the break offs are (I guess after each period?).
I could also probably get Almalexia done one way or another (either pitch shift or get one of my lady friends in the studio to do it). I'll play around with that idea a bit.
yesterday I was looking at a few Dunmer merchents and the like, a Kajet and an orc or two (I could really lay down some great orcs) maybee try some Bretons, guards and whatnot. I'll see.
what I would really like is one or two main characters because I do this stuff professionally and would like to attach my name to this project, but I never played morrowind so I'm not exactly sure whats what, maybee if you could assign one or two to me.
anyway, I'll play around with some other low priority characters for now and maybee look for a main that hasn't been done.
@drogheda98 If you think you can get the dunmer voice down then i would love to assign you to some main characters, although that one is a little tricky and its the one voice we are VERY picky on, we need to get that one right lol, but im pretty sure thats all thats left for mq characters. As for orcs i dont think anyone has done that or even tried (exept for zaf but he disappeared) so we really need orcs lol
so the voice you are looking for is the one off the main ship as soon as you wake up right? thats the kind of low gruff voice and not the kind from oblivion correct?
I'll try him out and tinker with it a bit and then post just like I did above just so you get the idea (and maybe push me in the right direction), I'll do that with a couple, including some random orcs and Khajiit and maybee some other races that are in the document(vendors or slaves or what have you). I just want to make sure I have the voice and all the levels right before I start working on all the files (and I'm not sure of the file structure or any of that, so I might have to just send the files to someone if thats not too much trouble)
My sister is actually really wanting to get on this as well and wanted me to give her some lines, hah. I'll just lead her here and to the doc, I'm assuming pretty much any female voice is open.
(edit, I blew out the neutrals in my studio so I've had no electricity for 2 days so I'm a tad behind)
And yes, yes and 'aye! Put your sister to work, we need female voices more then anything.
Unrelated, there is a renovation of my apartment coming up and I'll be moving in a few weeks for the next 1-2 months so I'm not sure about how active I'll be but I'll try.
And on the lighter and even more unrelated side, I'll get a cat tomorrow.
i dont know how much you have recorded so far, but could you upload everything you got so far? So that stij can start working on adding the voice ingame?

No, I think Eloth is right. :/ The quality really needs to sound quite proffessional, which I know is very hard for us to achieve, but like everyone could tell from the video; a bad quality voice over will really stick out. Did you already watch this:
Hi! I'm fairly new here, but I would like to recommend the use of Adobe Audition for the noise removal among these sound files. It's pretty easy tbh; it has a one-click noise capture feature which in turn we could use to filter the background noises on the voices we'll use.
I noticed that in that video Fargoth didn't sound 100% like how the official NPCs sound, which is typical cause being able to achieve that quality requires lots of money. So I think that I need something better than an iPhone mic, which is obviously complete and utter crap. But since I live in a country that doesn't really care about music or sound producing in general. Finding a good studio mic will take a very long time. So I'm better off buying an HD mic from an electronic store, and do the modifications with audacity.. Just to get rid of the "boxed up" thing. Good enough?
You actually don't need a credit card. Most banks give out debit cards when you get a checking account. A debit card is pretty much a credit card, only difference is that you won't end up in debt with a debit card =p
You guys are going on about quality. My big thing was actually getting a good interface to amp up my mic. I have a little 20 dollar condenser microphone that's nothing special, but it's plugged into a Behringer Xyenyx302 USB Mixer. With that, I can plug in headphones to monitor myself (which is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. You need to hear yourself live to get a good quality recording) and it doesn't use the computer sound card so it helps with quality. Also, you can adjust the high and low of the EQ to make it sound better for your voice. When I did Fargoth I was just figuring it out and it sounds a little too warm, I think. I got a little better recording Caius Cosades and Duvianus Platorius. But my suggestion for good sound quality is an okay microphone, some kind of decent preamp for it, a little bit of noise suppression (which its foam or a blanket or whatever) and some tweaking of noise cancelation in post. We aren't professionals here, sure, but the samples I've been hearing lately are sounding much better than the old, terrible, terrible quality stuff.

I think Fargoth sounds awesome as is to be honest. Great work Cinjaxon. I look forward to hearing more of your voice ingame.
Thanks for the video Stijimunkey!

Sorry I haven't started yet, I had exams, tomorrow is my last exam so I can get started with J'zhiir. :)

Yeah, same here with exams so it's been a bit slow this week x3
I downloaded both but I can't seem to get either to work properly, but then again I'm miserable at mods so it's no surprise :p

Reporting in again for the sake of it, finished Dram Bero and Trebonius Artorius.
While going dialogue for Vivec, I found the following
[There is a brief sensation of motion in total darkness, floating, but without a sense of weight or direction.]
I take it that's just supposed to be a quiet note and not me actually saying "There is a brief sensation blah blah blah..."
Ha! Looking forward to hearing Trebonius, the mad b*st*rd!
Sweet Cors! Yeah, I'd say just leave a blank space in the audio for that.
Let's get all this audio ingame! :)
[There is a brief sensation of motion in total darkness, floating, but without a sense of weight or direction.]
that sounds like actual in game theatrics, like that is what the pc is feeling

Okay, almost done with J'zhiir, just need to do the .LIP files.
But here's something, it's just another quality test, and something for the lolz. :P

I make a pretty neat Hermaeus Mora, no?

The oblivion dunmer voice? By azura no, the raspy gruff voice is exactly what we're talking about.
At the moment we have just two who can do good dunmer voice I think, myself included. Here's one of my early lines to give you an idea.

yay cats
@cors:
i dont know how much you have recorded so far, but could you upload everything you got so far? So that stij can start working on adding the voice ingame?
I've made up a detailed plan, don't worry.
1: Complete Vivec (50%)
2: Add some missing lines from Gothren
3: Go through the rest to ensure nothing is missing.
4: Sort shit out
5: Non-existent profit
Okay, before I start editing all the voice files and making the .LIP files, is this quality good enough or should I try something else?
http://k007.kiwi6.com/hotlink/7w52jh0r6w/testnumberbillion.wav
djd2010: you have this room echo destroying the quality
listen to this and compare: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kj0iadzdmifvk72/prophecies.wav
try to put a sock over the mic lol
Is there a way to fix this with audacity?
If not Imma try the sock thing. xD
its not possible to fix that with audacity im afraid, try again with a sock and upload it again, and i will listen if you need to tweak the eq
or make a small 3 sided box that cover the mic except from front
Tried putting a sock on my mic and covering myself up with pillows...

Hopefully it works, I looked stupid while doing it. xP
sounds good
hmmm, what microphone are you using? sounds way to boxed in

Compare Bacola's voice quality (bad) with Fargoth's and Caius'. You'll notice the difference...

its not the noise that is the problem here, its the boxed in EQ, no matter how much you tweak the eq, it will not save this recording
typical sound you get from a really cheap and crappy mic
behold:

this is what you need
;)
OKOKOK...

you can get a mic cheaper from an online store. Josie just ordered a very good mic from the net.
With a good mic you dont need to use audacity so much, if not at all.
I can't, I've got no credit card yet and 95% of the online stores don't ship to my country... :/
ummm, where do you live?
You actually don't need a credit card. Most banks give out debit cards when you get a checking account. A debit card is pretty much a credit card, only difference is that you won't end up in debt with a debit card =p
I'm from Saudi Arabia...
oh, no wonder you had such cool voice for the khajiit :)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Nady-USB-1C-USB-Studio-Condenser...
Can probably find it a bit cheaper, but it wasn't hard to find it on ebay lol
I'll see what I can do. I'll try my best not to let y'all down. :)
Thanks for the help.
