I'm on a roll. Here's some

I'm on a roll. Here's some more voice acting tries! Please comment! ^^

Redguard:

Khajiit greetings:

http://www.mediafire.com/?m57k7em4hcw0us7

(Btw purring sounds bad with a bad mic haha. I know it should be more relaxed and longer but maybe next time meh, my voice was starting to die at this point :D)

Imperial:

http://www.mediafire.com/?eigotfjea77monc

Altmer:

http://www.mediafire.com/?6bfnxad3td9ke52

They're all rather different from each other, at least the khajiit ones haha! And if you think I'm overacting the khajiit voice then you don't remember what it was like in Morrowind...

I figured out how to make a dry voice btw....Just do voices for a few hours straight without drinking anything. :-D

Wohoo, thanks guys! I'll definitely work on more than just one khajiit then. ;) But I'll try to make each one sound a tad bit different, but still like a khajiit. :) I wouldn't want it to seem like one person voiced every single one of them, even if that would be the case x)

For anyone who cares i

For anyone who cares i finally got a voice file to work correctly in skywind, it was a lot of work though and i had to rename the file but it works! I need to run over what i did and find an easy way for you guys to know what to name your files, but progress is being made.

ok this will be harder than i

ok this will be harder than i thought skyrim (or at least the ck)  doesnt sort dialogue by npc but rather by quest and has the proper topics in that quest id, so finding all of a particular characters lines is going to be stuuupid although possible good news there is an option when you bring up a line then click it to edit it you can record it straight into the ck then you can preview and save it and it will create the proper file and name and place it, you can also generate a .lip file (lipsyncing) all there in the ck and its done. So that could potentially make the entire VO project extremely easy as you could record lines then just save an esp file and everything is done it would be ready to play in game. its just a matter of being able to find your lines in the ck that seems to be the problem now and unfortunately im stumped.

skyrim sucks this is going to

skyrim sucks this is going to be hard to figure out it doesnt even really connect the npcs to the voices this is an example of the filepath

Data/Sounds/Voice/morroblivionquests.esp/MaleEvenToned/fbmwA1Drea_1attackedSwhile_0032051F_1

thats the line i tested and had working talking to caius (one of his lines) so first it sorts it by the quest then the voice type of the character  in skywind right now the caius npc is set to have a male even toned voice type and then finally the VO file named appropriately (quest-topic-response id) so like i said stupid skyrim lol

Hey, at least it's progress!

Hey, at least it's progress! The important thing is to get the audio. If we can at least get ALL audio files for everything (which I'm sure would be HUGE) then there's always a way to get them into the game. We at least know that we can make it work in Oblivion, so at least it's a start. And with how clever you folks are at modding and hacking and changing this stuff, I'm sure you'll get em into Skyrim too! I'm really excited for this to happen now. I didn't even know about it a week ago, but it's actually really awesome. I, for one, can't play Morrowind. Praises to those that can, but with the no fast-travel and no map markers and everything it's just too hardcore for me. I have little doubt it's an amazing game and from what I played it was. But if it were simplified and updated to the feel of Oblivion or Skyrim (with lots of awesome voices to boot!) I'd be all over that. I think I might give the latest release of Morroblivion a go. It is, more or less, completely playable, right? At least the main quest.

On a thread-related note, once I get my new audio equipment in, I'll spend all of my free time doing voices for this. I just don't know if it'll be the end of this week, or 2 months from now, with the whole "out of stock" thing on amazon. But count me officially in.

in Skyrim CK, on the NPC

in Skyrim CK, on the NPC editor, you have a dialogue button. It should filter the dialogue for this particular NPC. Those that are explicitely for him/her and those where conditions fit as well.

Right now, you will have a lot of dialogues since conditions are being worked on.. I guess you should organize your files/lines based on morroblivion and then in a few weeks we can maybe work on your resources for Skywind.

alright so i finally got the

alright so i finally got the ck figured out, thanks digital, things will still be on hold for skyrim for now, until the good people doing the amazing work over at quest converting can find time to set up all the conditions for the dialogue (locking the correct lines to the right npc and getting certain topics to appear at the correct times) that kind of stuff is way above my paygrade lol but when they get that all straightened out, no small task im sure, i can update the process for doing the VO's and it should be fairly simple compared to doing them for oblivion. So for now just keep going and doing what you guys are doing and naming the files for oblivion, ill have to convert and change all the file names to work with skyrim by hand until they can get all those conditions set for the dialogue. Aside from that things are all sorted out we just have to play the waiting game for a while.

VOICE TYPES!!!

Ok almost everything else is sorted out, all the npcs converted so far (at least in the master i have) have their voicetypes set to male even toned, as far as i can tell i need the npcs to have whatever voice type we are going to give them for the release of the mod before i can put the VO files in skyrim otherwise for now i would be putting them all in maleeventoned and then when the npc gets a new voice type later (i assume we dont want the females having a male voicetype lol) skyrim wouldnt be able to find the voice file any longer because it would now be in the wrong place. At least thats how i understand it so far. On the topic of voicetypes are we making new voicetypes or if possible converting the voicetypes from morrowind over for skywind? Voicetypes include all the static greetings when walking by npcs (or first talking to them) and their attack sounds ect.

Morrowind and Oblivion had no

Morrowind and Oblivion had no voicetypes.

I believe we need to create some generic ones, as well as ones for NPCs that have unique dialogue?  But we really need someone more knowledgeable about this sort of thing to tell us.

Lol I agree we need some experts, I can try fiddling around and see if I can't get a new voicetype created in the ck if I can then maybe the ck will tell me all the lines and sounds that need to go into a voicetype and I can get some people assigned to voice them

Quick update new voice types
Quick update new voice types are easily created, although getting those generic sounds included in that voice type not so much (new voice types don't have those sounds it's just silent), I'm looking more into it

How close are we to an update

How close are we to an update to this mod? A lot of voice files have been posted in this and other topics since 0002 was posted, and some are said to be quite good. Were they only small examples? Is nothing yet worth putting in?

Also, does anyone know if this is compatible with the mod that has the real original greetings and combat dialog from Morrowind?

If the exel Sheet confuzes you just try following the tutorial and use the cs instead, also record a couple lines and throw them up here! Then if its good we'll get you assigned to do some voices

most of those voice files were just samples or tests, a couple of them were full voices but they were posted before i took over and the links are broken, ive contacted them about reuploading them but no reply yet, Yes it is compatible with that mod if your playing morroblivion, skywind doesnt have that mod yet, and probably wont

IMPORTANT!!!

I just updated the OP with some new instructions, if anyone is doing voices for 2 characters of the same race please add an extra folder and keep the voice files seperate for each character

A normal file path would look like this:

Data/Sound/Voice/Morrowind_ob.esm/(race)/(M or F)/(your voice files)

Make it look like this instead:

Data/Sound/Voice/Morrowind_ob.esm/(race)/(M or F)/(characters name)/(then all your voice files for that character)

If you dont do this it will make generating the lip files extremely difficult for me almost impossible so please do this

I edited the second post in this thread and included some tutorial pictures on how to use the spreadsheet.  It's pretty easy.

I also updated the spreadsheet with a fix.  Sorting by Quest Name wasn't working.  Now it works.

Alright i need some opinions,

Alright i need some opinions, Do we want to make our own voicetypes for skywind, whatever voicetype the npc has will judge where their voice files go, and the voicetypes also include all the generic greetings attack sounds taunts breathing ect. so if we use skyrim voicetypes most likely all our npcs will greet and taunt or attack all in a different voice than that of our voice actors, if we create and voice our own voicetypes we could eliminate this for the most part, now i can create the new voicetype easily and i was able to extract the generic sounds from skyrim so i can listen to what we need to voice for the generic stuff to include in the voicetype and what the proper names should be, the only thing is that there are a little over 250 generic sounds to record thats a lot of extra work especially if we do a new voicetype for each race and gender plus a few for some more well known unique npcs thats like another 5250 lines or sounds that we would have to record. If we managed to do that then the only thing left to do would be to make sure all the generic dialogue quests (what activates all the generic sounds) would be able to pick from the new voicetypes, thats the only thing im not sure how to do.

So do we take the easy way out and just use the skyrim voicetypes (or we could just have all those generic sounds be silent)? or do we do A LOT of extra work to get our own voicetypes in there? Opinions!

Alright looks like we have a couple people interested in crassius they are bother completely different takes on him, dmoneys mystery friend has a really good deeper tone for him while sweet tooth has a lighter maybe even a bit too young sounding but also I think really captures the spirit of crassius, I'm torn I think they are both suitable in their own way, can I get some opinions to help me decide?

Two things about Morroblivion

Two things about Morroblivion release:

1) What is the purpose of esp? From the looks of it, there isn't any.
2) You put M'aiq lines into "Khajiit" folder, but they shoud go into "Argonian" folder because Khajiits and Argonians share the same voicetype.

P.S. It can be a bit confusing to discuss both Oblivion and Skyrim releases in the same thread.

Again time have gone by

Again time have gone by without reporting in, I haven't recorded a whole lot since last time I posted basically for health reasons, after recording large amounts of dunmer dialogue during longer periods of time I began noticing my normal voice was being effected so I've taken some time off.

I've gotten better but now I can't find my microphone, have to find it or buy a new one before continuing.

Also, good to see thread is more active now.

Shadow wrote:

Edit:  May I suggest that you give Cor Angars a PM as well?  I just listened to his sample, and I am STUNNED.  That acting is brilliant.  It would be great if he could do a few more voices.  Or if not, it would be good if he could at least upload what he has so far.

Thanks, that means a lot! I posted these in another thread but not here so my other examples:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/kj0iadzdmifvk72/prophecies.wav

https://www.dropbox.com/s/2n9iypd4lf6y1gg/wakeup.wav

https://www.dropbox.com/s/npki3cg5hyidfvh/1goof.wav

https://www.dropbox.com/s/bhv7wz4ix4llkwd/Blooper_dunmer.wav

One successful, one giving a try at jiub in the intro, one where I had a short blackout and improvised the rest and one that just... something messed up.

You might notice a difference in quality, I had a very professional microphone but it was stolen so I've had to use my less good one.

I still exist and am still recording Argonian VO work.

Just been caught up with life and am in the process of getting ready to move to a new (and quieter) home. I'm not dead, much as I can seem like it.

And I do apologize that I'm taking so long. I WILL get this done.

@QWERTY, I'm not sure about
@QWERTY, I'm not sure about that esp it was in the download before I took over it must tweak something in the cs? Thanks for letting me know about maiuq I'll change that as soon as I get home, as for the double release thing in one thread it is my understanding that the original intent was just to update the thread to be for skyrim but until some more quest stuff is done I can't do anything in skyrim yet so it's on hold for now, hence why we just kept going with the oblivion method for now (getting the voices recorded is what's important) I can convert them to skyrim later the voice and lip files are compatible with both, then I will change the whole process and thread over to Skywind one I can, or at least I thought that's what we are doing. Why would they put the kajiit in with the agonians lol

I updated the excel sheet

I updated the excel sheet again in the second post.  On version 7 now.  There are now two more columns that list the appropriate Skywind file path and file name for each voice file.

stijmunkey please let me know if that works for you, or if you need it to show different file names or file paths.

Also, you are probably aware of this, but this is a good guide for putting together voicing for skyrim: http://www.creationkit.com/Adding_Voice_Intermediate_Tutorial
