Supporting Plugins

Installation

The Morroblivion v68 installer automatically detects legal Morrowind and Oblivion installations before deploying the Morroblivion files. Install xOBSE separately, along with any OBSE / xOBSE plugins required by the Morroblivion options you enable.

As of Morroblivion version 68, the installer can automatically detect your installed Morrowind and Oblivion directories. When prompted for the Morroblivion installation directory, you may select your Oblivion directory or choose a different managed-mod directory if your setup requires one.

Please note that the official Installation Instructions topic and the PCGamingGoodies Video Installation are outdated for v68 and newer. They are still useful legacy references for load order, compatibility, and additional setup details not fully covered by the current installer.

Compatibility

Morroblivion Compatibility Patches

Morroblivion is located in a separate worldspace. It is generally compatible with mods that modify Oblivion's worldspace, including OOO, MMM, FCOM, Unique Landscapes, Better Cities, and similar Oblivion-focused mods, but those mods do not directly modify the Morroblivion worldspace.

Morroblivion is compatible with, and affected by, mods that modify Oblivion gameplay mechanics, including combat, magic, stealth, leveling, UI, and related systems.

The latest version is not compatible with most Morroblivion mods created before 2014, nor with original ESP Converter-based mods, unless the mod page specifically states that the mod has been updated or tested for the current release.

Potential incompatibility: Any mod that uses an older version of Morrowind_ob.esm as its master may be incompatible with the current release.

Starting the Game / World Transport

Alternate Start

Starting a new game with Morrowind_ob.esm active works as an alternate start. Instead of beginning in the Imperial City Prison, the game begins in the hold of the prison ship in Seyda Neen. As a result, the Oblivion Main Quest does not start automatically. A World Transport option can be used to start the Oblivion Main Quest.

World Transport

Being updated. The Oblivion Main Quest starts through a corpse outside the Imperial Prison Sewers.

Stability and Performance

If you experience seemingly random crashes, especially in wilderness areas, the cause is commonly related to cell-buffer overrun rather than a problem with a specific cell. Oblivion was not designed to load a project on the scale of Morrowind and all its denizens, but the following steps can reduce crashes.

  1. If you have 4 GB or more of RAM and are running a 64-bit version of Windows, apply the 4GB Patch to Oblivion.exe. This allows the 32-bit executable to use up to 4 GB of virtual memory instead of the usual 2 GB limit.
  2. Decrease graphical settings or install FastLOD with your preferred add-on.
  3. Install the recommended OBSE / xOBSE stability and performance plugins listed above.

Load Order and File Details

Morrowind_ob.esm

Main data file for Morroblivion. It contains the core landmass, dialogue, quests, and related records.

This file is required for Morroblivion to function.

Load order: Load directly after Oblivion.esm unless you are using EngineBugFixes. Even with EngineBugFixes, keeping this legacy order is still a safe baseline.

Morrowind_ob.esp

Loads the Morroblivion BSA archives and helps resolve possible conflicts with other mods.

This file is required for Morroblivion to function.

Load order: Load after any mod that changes vanilla idle animations, such as Personality Idles.

Note: This file contains one intentional ITM record. Do not clean it with xEdit.

Morrowind_ob - UCWUS.esp

Restores functionality for enchanted items with the "Cast When Used" enchantment.

This file is recommended for the full Morroblivion experience.

Load order: Load after Morrowind_ob.esp, with the other Morroblivion plugins. If you use Morroblivion clothing replacers with this plugin, create a Bashed Patch.

Morrowind_ob - Conversation.esp

Adds original Morrowind voiced lines to NPCs. Recommended for a more nostalgic Morrowind experience.

Load order: Load after Morrowind_ob.esp, with the other Morroblivion plugins.

Morrowind_ob - MorroblivionTreeReplacer.esp

Replaces default Morrowind trees with Oblivion-style trees.

Load order: Load after Morrowind_ob.esp, with the other Morroblivion plugins.

Any Morroblivion Map Replacers

Any plugin or replacer that alters the Morrowind map.

Load order: Load after all other Morroblivion mods.

Optional Add-ons / Resources

This list collects optional mods that have been used with recent Morroblivion releases and add meaningful experiences. Check each mod page for version-specific requirements. More mods are available in the [HUB] Mods for Morroblivion topic.

What do you mean by being randomly stuck in place?

As in my character cannot move and I cannot use the Tab menu either. I tried using enableplayercontrols but it didn't work. I had to load a previous save when I was in the Royal Courtyard.

qwertyasdfgh
I don't know what Antares mod is, but if it's a mod for original Morrowind, there was a discussion of porting such mods just today.

A morrowind mod that was semi-popular in 2006-2007.  Hasn't been seen much since 2008. Like most mods it was never completely  finished. I didn't see it on the Nexus. It used to be on Gamespy, but Gamespy no longer exists.

I really don't know what could be causing this. There's only one gamemode script I added in that area that disables playercontrols. It's on Azura and can't do anything until you completed Tribunal. What are your active / completed Tribunal quests?

My completed quest - Dark Brotherhood Attacks.

I tried it with various different characers of different playtime from brand new to 100 hours and more and I just cannot reproduce this bug. None of them were further than Dark Brotherhood attacks either. Can you post your load order or maybe your savegame?

Just wanted to say thanks to you guys for making this mod! I'm loving the latest version. Totally keep forgetting that this is still a work in progress as I get totally immersed in the game, then it occasional crashes with my view distances all maxed...fixed that by turning them down a notch and then it's awesome again.

I can't seem to find the thread for East Empire Company debugging, but I've encountered a few problems.

Upon first going to Raven Rock, there are a couple of NPCs around that shouldn't be there yet.

The door to the Raven Rock mine is there, yet the actual structure for the mine isn't. The door shouldn't be there yet. It just looks like a door stuck up against some rocks.

I can't seem to find all of the ebony deposits for the first company quest. I need to collect some ebony samples to take back to Magius, but there only appears to be one ebony ore vein.

Falco Galenus has a dialogue topic he shouldn't have yet. "Crossroads" is the topic you use when the player has to choose between Falco Galenus or Carnius Magius. I'm still on the first quest and it's already there.

Falco says some things in dialogue that shouldn't be present yet. For example, he mentions how proud he is at how far the colony has come and how proud he is of the player.

There seems to be a red marker of some kind floatinf in the air. I've seen this in the CS before, but I'm not sure what it does. I know it's not supposed to be there.

Hey guys what's wrong with the downloads?
I've had a free day and I wanted to give this mod a try, but it's refusing to download properly.

I've tried downloading it 5 times (not exaggerating) and I've even tried the mirror 2 times.
Those 5 downloads always finish, but they're registered as failed and 7zip just won't open them. The mirror site just freezes in the middle of download every damn time.

P.S. I'm talking about the Resource files (the 2.1 GB one).

Try with a different browser, check you internet connection signal strenght.

If this failed try a download manager like jdownloader

Some people have issues like this when downloading from Google - that's why we have a mirror. If that one fails for you too, then my only advice would be to try different browser or use a download manager.

I don't know what causes these problems. Maybe you have bad internet connecton?

EDIT: Apparently, llde types faster than me :)

Thanks for fast responses!
I managed to download it a few moments ago. Third time was the charm for the mirror file. [External image]
I never have problems with connection. Maybe I probably picked a bad time to download it from the mirror.
And I don't think it was Mozilla. I don't remember having problems like this for a very long time now, and I download a lot of stuff for different projects on almost daily basis.

My friend also checked the Google drive version and encountered the same problem with it...

Are the notes regarding progress with Bloodmoon up to date? I've noticed there are quite a few bugs with the East Empire Company quests. Checked in that thread, but the title indicates it's all been merged. Just wondering if finished means it's already been debugged or still needs to be debugged.

Bloodmoon information are updated becouse I'm still debugging the expansion.

I had difficult bugs to resolve and someone still eludes me

I can only imagine how hard the Bloodmoon questline is, with all the missing creatures, werewolf stuff and lots of other missing stuff. If you need any help, I'd be more than happy to lighten some of the work load. Even if it's just placing and creating the creatures which were not originally converted. I've noticed some caves also completely lack humanoid enemies, like the Fryse Hag and Smugglers.

Brainslasher Post here: http://tesrenewal.com/forums/oblivion/morroblivion-development/5594

If you played the expansion and you  had some bugs that are not listed here tell me.

If you can tweak the meshes of creatures, or  animations you will help me a lot.

I have no time to test and dbug every dungeon in the expansion,  if you come to a dungeon without enemy or with problem feel free to fix them and head the file to me.

If you can do a draugr(for Aeslip) and a riekling(for Talking rieklings) suit for npc you will semplify the things a lot(I'm still seeing if there is another way if this is not possible)

How you are knowledgeable about Ai package?(Expecially the underwater ones, like for Swimmer?)

Hello!

May I ask if SoVvM is compatible with Morroblivion? (it should as they are not in the same worldspace but I would like to be sure):

http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/16976/?

I would like to use SoVvM just for a personal little project, but only if is compatible with the magnificent Morroblivion.

Thank you and congratulations for such a wonderful project.

Yes, it's compatible. You'll just have 2 different versions of Vvardenfell to visit.

The holly bush on Solstheim seems to have black sections. I tried fixing it to no avail.

Here - I tried reimporting the original Morrowind model and exporting to Oblivion manually but I'm stumped.

It's probably supposed to be an alpha channel which is rendered as invisible by Oblivion. It probably needs to be fixed in Photoshop.

Which model is that?

Also, Blender doesn't always display alpha transparency correctly - you should check in NifSkope and ingame.

The model is FloraUBMUhollyU01.nif

The same result is in-game and in the CS.

It looks fine in my game. Are you using the latest version?

Yes, I'm using V062. But with the resources, I just downloaded the upgrade resources as I already had V061.

I'm hoping that the full resources pack will fix it.

I'm just wondering when will the Morrowind glass armor be ported over to Morroblivion, if I was not mistaken one of the armor designers said they had it in Skywind and would downgrade it, to morroblvion.

if I was not mistaken one of the armor designers said they had it in Skywind and would downgrade it, to morroblvion.

I highly doubt it.

Do not know about Skywind, but it was done by Lhammonds for Oblivion, never Released.

Yeah, key word - never released.

I was able to convert the Morrowind armor using the converter with a few ini tweaks. However the cuirass has some issues. It looks fine in nifskope but crashes Blender and gets completely screwed ingame, eventually crashing it. Not sure what's wrong though or if it's even fixable. Apart from that it looks as good or bad as any other converted Morrowind model.

Don't get me wrong i do not know what i am Doing, this is a qwertyasdfgh job, only being playing with it cause it Crashed my Game when i tried to Equip so played with it in Nifskope for some reason armor has a lot of white in nifskope so worked out to remove the white then ( updated all tangent Spaces ) then ( Update all MOPP Code ) does not work Prop but does not  Crash my Game..

Will look Good when worked out.Helmet had 1 white Spot in Front Remove it did the Same turned up in Game. Boots Removed the Under part of The Boot was White turned up in Game and Player had a Leg.

Don't know if you can Repair them post anyway, Also has Error Log of what Textures are Missing

Yu can Import into Blender only if  you Restore Default but The Pauldrons do not turn up.

Edit

Deleted file will wait for New file when Released , no   thanks to you we Could have  Glass Via V063.

Roxon, you manage to put a smile on my face once again! Thank you so much! The white areas you removed simply lacked textures that I didn't provide with the .rar file. Ind addition, being the lazy bum that I am, I initially only tried testing the armor without the textures because I didn't want to clutter up my Oblivion install with textures. Well, it seems that textures are what's holding the armor mesh together, so to speak. Without them there were holes and glitches all over the mesh. But thanks to your approach, I updated tangent spaces and MOPP code on each mesh and did put the textures in the right places and everything works great! All the parts show up correctly. The only thing that's not showing up are arms in first person but that's something that affects many converted Morrowind models. I'm really happy with these results though, and thank you again Roxon!

I will post the updated files soon. And I will convert the glass weapons as well.

This includes All Glass Armor pieces: Glass Helmet, Cuirass, Greaves, Boots, Shield and Tower Shield. Except for the shields they all have icons. This is only a testing version, I will replace the default armor with this one soon. There seem to be no real issues with this at this point except for the invisible first person arms. I will also need to fix some of the wonky collison on the shields and cuirass. All textures have custom made normal maps.

Attachment Size

Arms are invisible because of the mesh naming. Any part within an armor\clothing model named 'Upperbody' (or 'Upperbody:Something') will not be rendered in first person.

Also, I think it's time to continue this discussion in separate thread.

Morroblivion help.
For starters when I create a new character instead of it asking me to choose Vvardenfell or Cyrodiil it skips that entirely. Instead of that I start on the ship without the morrowind intro and it's just super janky. HELP.

This should help you.

I fixed it by messing with the load order. But now I have a new problem. Peoples clothes don't always show up. They just appear to have floating heads arms and legs, not only that but weapons are miss aligned and are using Morrowind textures. When I read some of the stuff I downloaded I could have sworn I downloaded something to just use the Oblivion models. I've tried referring to this overall instruction thread for help but its not helping. I've even gone to YouTube to search for a tutorial. There is one but its so out of date that it didn't help me at all. Could someone possibly just print screen their load order for me? It would save me a lot of time. I've been rearranging this load order for the past hour to no avail.
